While it's a very solid game, and the best nfs in a long time, I'm pretty disappointed with the cop chases. Also kind of disappointed with the city itself. Really surprised that in this new age of massive open worlds, they decided to make this one smaller than previous ones. Especially with how easy it is to fast travel to events and the garage. The customisation, cars themselves, and the actual driving are all really good though. 3.5 diamonds from me.

Although Black Ops III offers the option to play the campaign cooperatively, its problems only multiply as a result. Instead of creating deeper scenarios involving teamwork and communication between up to four players, Black Ops III decides to just throw more hardened enemies at you. One Warlord--an enemy that requires several magazines to bring down--is bothersome enough. Four of them together is downright frustrating. They feel more like brick walls than sentient soldiers.

Black Ops III's narrative doesn't support the campaign in any meaningful way, either. It tells an incomprehensible story about AI ascendancy and the moral grays of a hyper-connected future, raising intriguing questions but never bothering to answer them. At the end of it all, after hours of soulless shooting and unremarkable storytelling, Black Ops III delivered its nebulous twist, and I didn't dwell on it.

In its undead modes, and the first 10 hours of multiplayer, it excels. But in its campaign, it merely crawls forward. Black Ops III doesn't offer anything remarkable to the series, but does just enough to maintain the Call of Duty status quo. The franchise, however slowly, continues its inexorable march.

At this point, at least two of the Call of Duty developers (Treyarch and Sledgehammer), have it figured out. They now have a three-year development cycle, which means that technically, each individual game is not a rushed "annual" iteration. While the campaign could certainly be a lot stronger, Black Ops III is living proof of that concept.

Pancakes, how is BLOPS 3? According to TT, you seem to already have a bunch of the trophies.

My copy should be arriving today, and after reading that the campaign is nothing special, I'll hold off on finishing BLOPS 2's campaign trophies so I can run through the new one and trade it in while the TIV is high.

Black Ops 3's trophy list gets the spread across the whole package just right too, putting the majority of focus on the campaign, while peppering a few tasks across Shadows of Evil and multiplayer too. There's even a secret trophy for finishing the game on Realistic difficulty, which is as tough as it sounds. Play in co-op with the ability to revive, however, and it might prove frustrating, but it's certainly possible. All in all, a damn fine list.

Featuring a campaign that attempts a complex and interesting story with somewhat mixed results, several big unlockable secrets, the Zombies: Shadows of Evil campaign and an immense multiplayer component that ups the tempo, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is almost too vast. As a package, Treyarch's game is undoubtedly ambitious, and there are some new elements in here that work remarkably well. Yet, the campaign misses the mark somewhat, despite being enormous fun in co-op, and multiplayer can occasionally be something of a mixed bag. Overall, though, it's hard to resist such a generous offering. And Black Ops 3 is by far the biggest and most all-encompassing Call of Duty to date.

After looking at reviews on amazon, I'm probably not going to get a Yeti Tumbler. The lid doesn't close and the top is very thin, so coffee doesn't stay hot that long. It's better for cold drinks than hot it seems.

Bad news for anyone interested in trying for the BLOPS 3 plat:

I know there is "Realistic" difficulty. But check this out...

There's 1 decoration called "Immortal Fame" (and all decorations are needed for the single gold trophy in the game), and it requires you to complete every mission at least once on "Veteran" difficulty without restarting any checkpoint.

By the way, there are also decorations for unlocking ALL camos and attachments for ALL weapons. There's 25 primary weapons which you need 650 kills each. There's 4 pistols, needing 150 kills each. Then there's 3 Launchers, needing 300 kills each. When you add it up, that's a whopping 17,750 kills. Holy fuck. Yep. Sounds like it's gunna be a blast.

I could never beat the harder difficulties in FPS anyway so I am glad I dont need to worry about the plat in this one either. Also glad that CoD games hold their TIV for a while so I can play other games and not have to rush into this one right away.

I wouldnt mind trying to play this in Co op too.

From the sound of things, Realistic difficulty becomes slightly more manageable in co-op because you can revive teammates and only technically lose if everyone dies.

My grandma got my middle name as a slight variation off of alexandra of russia. Which is kinda cool. Peyton isn't a bad name, but I don't think I'd deliberately name a kid after Peyton Manning. Only Payton I know is a girl born in about 96? Likely not a result of Peyton Manning's existence. 

 
I finally finished the blood bowl tutorial/campaign.  It is really really long - maybe 12 or more matches.  But it does do a pretty decent job of forcing you to learn the game and some of the idiosyncrasies (weather conditions, bribing refs, weird and random statuses that I've never seen in a regular game, what to watch for in blocking/passing/etc, proper use of fouls).  all sarcasm aside this has really been one of my favorite games this year.  I'm pretty surprised.

I have to return my copy on Monday, but it looks like I could renew it. I have only played one tutorial match. I got stuck on SMB, but now I guess that's over, so hopefully this weekend I play a bunch of matches. If I have fun and the renew option is still there I'll renew.

 
I may have spent a solid 2 years convincing the bf that Tony is a great name for boys.

His last name is Stark.

I think at this point he's accepted that I'm at least getting away with it as a middle name.
