I was talking about this with a guy I work with. He is a big Elder Scrolls, Skyrim, Oblivion, FO etc fan. I actually gave him a code for ES on PS4 not too long ago.

He loved FO3 but understood why I was so bored. Getting out of the vault and into the actual game just took way too long. I THINK I made it out and gave up. It was a rental and I didn't want to spend anymore time with it. Didn't grab me.

He said if I stuck with it a bit more it might have clicked for me. On top of that I am not big on customizing every aspect of my character and sinking 30-100 hours or more into a single game anymore. Probably partly why I haven't played a COD game in a couple years and skipped the last two.

Shit! I played the wrong two at Flex this week. Should have played LaFell and Randle; what was I thinking with that DJax play. I could be up 25pts on you MWN. Instead, I'm up 2pts with a battle of the TEs to decide it; Gates vs. Ertz. Go Chargers!

I got crap from Dougie Fresh and may have lost Lewis, too. That's two RBs possibly gone in two weeks after losing Bell last week. I'm hurting at the RB position.

If you didn't give 3 enough of a chance then I can understand why you might want to give 4 a go, but I would expect more of the same. You're probably going to have to trudge through it a bit to get things started, although the opening in 4 sounds like it will be a little more exciting.

Patriots are hopeful it's only an MCL sprain, but the ACL is "loose," which apparently is a bad sign. We'll know more after tomorrow's MRI. Either way he's not playing for several weeks given the best-case scenario.

The Xbox Elite controller is sold out everywhere. Hopefully it just had a really low production number. I'm not at all excited for the precedence that these dummies are setting by paying for a $150 controller.

Not sure why you would care? Some people pay hundreds of dollars for dolls action figures / collectibles. Or people buy collection editions of games with all sorts of stuff in it I have no interest in.

I think the controller is pretty cool idea. I would probably buy an Elite bundle if I was looking at XBox One. I think the DS4 has a good layout but feels cheap. The original ones were junk (I had two with buttons that stuck). Nothing wrong in an optional premium controller.

I wouldn't spend $150 on one but $100 I probably would.

Even if it is amazing controllers just don't last long enough to warrant $150 once let alone more than that. I suppose they all went through 3-4 Xbox 360's so they may be used to that.

I also always find it weird when they say that Sony controllers are too light. WTF? Who wants a bowling ball for a controller? That's like saying shoes are too light because you only wear boots.

Just like I said, I don't like the precedence. If that thing sells really really well who's to say next gen's controllers won't start at $100+ once they see people are willing to spend that much on them.

Pretty big jump from making a limited amount of premium controllers for those willing to pay $150. To the starting price for a DS4 or normal XBox One controller being $100. A year from now PS4 and XBox One will be probably selling for $300 without any sort of BF sales. Do you really think they are going to do away with the base DS4 and XBox One controller in favor of some Elite type controller and make that the included controller driving up the price?

Not too worried what might happen 6 or 7 years from now.

All I said is I don't like the precedence it could set if it sells really well. Who knows what kind of ideas it could give Sony and Microsoft? Why not intentionally nerf your pack-in controller with your next console and then release a high end one for $100+ that is basically essential for anyone who games regularly? No way of knowing if that (or anything else) will happen so that's why I just said I don't love the precedence.

I don't think the comparison to games and collectors editions is completely apt. It would be more like $60 will buy you a 720p/30fps game with midrange textures and $100 will buy you a 1080p/60fps game with high level textures.

I just think it is nice to have the choice of a better controller. I have had 5 or 6 DS4 controllers. 2 were junk. Current 3 are ok but just feel a bit cheap build quality wise.

PS3 was too expensive when it came out and Sony didn't sell well out of the gate. This go around MS thought people would pay $100 more for the Kinect and Sony ate their lunch.

Assuming there is a PS5 and XBox Two or whatever I can't see them trying to make them more expensive by bundling in a premium controller. Sony for example threw in the cheapest ear bud.

Guess we will see what this does the price of controllers. Sony doesn't have an option at all. Just different colors.

I just think for $60 I should be getting a high quality controller. I don't want to pay $150 for a high quality controller.

I don't have any of the problems you have with the DS4. I don't think it feels cheap at all. It's probably my favorite controller of all time, passing the Xbox 360 controller which was amazing except for its awful D-pad.

Well Microsoft already has people believing a heavier controller means more quality so of course the elite is heavier. Why can't they just put those amazing sure grip thumbstick pads on the current controller? This is why Bungie fucked us so bad with Destiny, people gobble it up. Stop the insanity.

That and using metal for some of the parts instead of cheap plastic has to add some weight.

I like the layout of the DS4 just fine. I came from primarily gaming on 360 with the offset analog sticks. I know MS fans bitch about that on the DS4 conroller but really hasn't been an issue for me. I did buy KontrolFreaks analog stick extenders. I find it adds some grip and surface area and seems to me made of much better rubber then the crap Sony uses. Shorter ones for the left then the right. Preemptively since the rubber Sony uses seems to be lesser quality then what was on the DS3s.

I don't mean this in an insulting way, but you sound like a controller snob, which I'm not at all, so maybe that's why we don't see eye to eye on this at all.

The only controller I've ever disliked is the Wii controller, because for non-motion games it was almost entirely ineffective and using waggle to swing your sword, attack, or whatever was just no fun and honestly hurt my wrist after a while. 

Major controller issues still irk me (d-pad on the 360, triggers on the DS3) but things like stick placement, controller weight, stick material, stick length, and controller width I couldn't possibly care less about.

That's another thing I never understand. WTF are some of you doing with your thumb that the joystick pads are all deteriorated and chewed up? I've never had that happen to any controller I've owned and I've played a ton of hours of gaming over my lifetime. I'm a cheap bastard too so my controllers don't get replaced often.

My nephew let me borrow his 360 for a summer and both controllers had a groove where his thumbnail dug into the rubber pad. Stop the insanity! Wait, I've used that rant before. I need some new material.

Only controllers I have had this happen on were my two launch DS4s. None of my 360/PS3 controllers did that.

One of my friends completely fucked up my extra 360 controller with his long ass fingernail digging into the rubber on the stick. Why do people even play like that? Ugh.

Not at all. I just don't understand the shortsightedness you seem to have here. You are basically saying I like the stock controller so people are stupid for spending a premium on a better controller. Which to me is a funny position. I don't get the whole collecting of stuff phenomenon. Glad it is there for those who care to buy collectibles. Or to trade a perfectly working console in so we can buy another color or limited edition. I think options are cool.

Anyway I said my piece on this. If Sony were ever to build a higher quality controller I would consider it and not fear it means the DS4 will be discontinued or worry about what might be packed in with a PS5 which may never even happen for all we know.

And yeah on the controller issue; I think the PS3 price is a good comparison. They learned their lesson and have a very clear example that high prices = low sales. It wouldn't surprise me if newer consoles tried inching up the controller prices especially since we don't really have a choice in the matter, but I don't think a jump to $150 for a standard controller is a real thing to worry about.

Not really a fan of Chris Collinsworth, but what he just said about Greg Hardy and players basically taking a stand against what players like Hardy do...spot on. It's a shame these players can't police themselves but instead hide behind the union.
