That's another thing I never understand. WTF are some of you doing with your thumb that the joystick pads are all deteriorated and chewed up?
As jimbo said, DS4s are the only controller that has had a widespread issue with this. Sure, it happens with other controllers depending on how abusive someone is with it but the rubber has been peeling off of the DS4 sticks for a good portion of PS4 owners.

That's not even close to what I'm trying to say, so either I'm expressing it wrong or you're understanding it wrong. Either way probably better for me to just drop it too.
I get what you're saying and it's the same thing as when I was overly concerned that down the line the quality of the free games from PS+ was going to dip when Sony started requiring memberships for online play. Companies get people used to accepting new practices in small bites so they can eventually shove the whole dinner down their mouth without much of a protest.

Could go either way with the controllers. If they're selling out and there's still a huge demand for them we could see Sony/MS slowly start integrating some of their features into their base controllers in future generations and I could see them trying to justify a $10-20 price increase, but I would think the demand would have to HUGE or they would risk alienating the casual user base that just want to play games every once in awhile.

Also led me to Cam's instagram page, and a feeling of not really wanting to cheer for the Panthers anymore.

Does anyone know if you can use a coupon purchased with PUR points in addition to getting trade value when upgrading a console at GameStop? I see that the fine print says it may not be used with any other offers but I'm not sure if they consider a coupon purchased an offer.

I don't think the comparison to games and collectors editions is completely apt. It would be more like $60 will buy you a 720p/30fps game with midrange textures and $100 will buy you a 1080p/60fps game with high level textures.
jesus you should delete this part of the post before someone takes the idea and runs with it.

It's subjective, but in the eyes of many people I'd say your concerns about PS+ game quality came to fruition.

Yeah this is exactly what I was trying to say.

Sleeping Dogs Definitive main story platted, will work on the DLC trophies tomorrow.  I may not get them all, much like happened with the PS3 version.

It shouldn't be a problem considering the $250 TIV isn't technically an offer--once they enter in the console's information and confirm its serial number, the value shown is $250 without them having to scan anything else. Just say you have a $__ off coupon from PowerUpRewards to help pay for the console and they should scan/enter it without any issue (unless you get an a-hole employee, which is always possible because this is Gamestop we're talking about).

I'd actually be trading in a ps3 for $100 if I choose to go that route.

Yeah...I know....
It's hard to tell when you're being sarcastic.

Oh. Then in that case, I think it should still work (i.e., I don't think the register will deny the coupon since it isn't affecting the traded-in console but the purchased one) but it will depend on whether an employee is willing to try applying the coupon, too.

Also I don't see that Uncharted bundle including Fallout 4 thrown in anywhere. Gamestop twitter is filled with Xbox love, PS4 may as well be last gen.

This week or on black Friday? I wonder if I could talk them in to giving me a copy without me lugging the whole thing back in. I'm guessing ... no.
I might try going in for a trade with last weeks receipt and seeing if they'll apply it for me. My GS dudes seem to like me, so hopefully they'll be nice about it.

It definitely seems headed that way, but I was actually really happy with this months offerings (I think that's mainly because I've become so cheap or else I would have bought them already).

But I think a few years down the road we'll start seeing "games with gold" quality being offered by Sony pretty consistently.

Speaking of PS+,  I somehow missed activating purchase of October's games. Usually I do it right away and then check again when the next month is announced.

Invizimials is a kick in the pants this month but besides that I'm fairly pleased with this month. Magicka 2 and Dragon Fin Soup are two games I would have bough on sale.

Yeah, it definitely is but it's hard for me to complain when I own all three systems and I'm happy with 5 of the 6 being offered.... small bites.... they know what they're doing.

I haven't tried Dragon Fin Soup. I've heard there's a good game buried beneath the burdensome UI and controls and lack of proper guidance of how to play.

Sounds like if the devs are interested in making the game better it could be a good fun game.

Anyone try local coop in toy soldiers? Its not letting player 2 select an army at all, and then it won't let me pick a map to play either. Wondering if anyone else had the same problems.

My friends and I went up to Phoenix for the state fair this weekend. I was feeling adventurous and did the 130 foot bungie jump even though I'm afraid of heights. It was pretty cool and I wasn't too nervous. I'm blind without my glasses so it felt like a 2-3 second blurry free fall before the cord yanked me back. The feeling of falling was scary but kind of cool.

Unfortunately, I didn't think of the aftermath. They put these weighted straps on my ankles and they were super tight to begin with and that's the spot of the yanking. When they took them off my ankles were red and sore as fuck. Today my waist and shoulders were extremely sore too. While I enjoyed the short thrill I'd say the pain/soreness I feel means it was a one time thing.

I like it a lot so far. A big fan of those grid based rogue-likes (or what ever we are calling it these days). I really didn't notic the lack of tutorial since I've played a bunch of these games. I haven't ventured far since I'm playing on the vita and I don't want anything to glitch on me but so far the only complaint I still have is the ugly font choice.

Did anyone else read the 2nd paragraph first? Sounds like a hell of a weekend in Phoenix!

# 35 - Plat'd and 100%'ed. I would say this is unnecessary, multiplayer trophies done tolerably.

In addition to the standard competitive multiplayer modes in other AC games, there is also a cooperative mode called Wolfpack that is actually pretty fun. Rather than a horde mode when you are killing everything in sight, it is a score chase in which you have to identify and assassinate NPC targets as quickly, cleanly, and stylishly as possible to keep extending the timer. It starts with you taking out stationary targets, then they start wandering, then they give them abilities, and they eventually have you target multiple targets at a time.

Best of all, if you don't want to play with other people, you can do it solo and still reach the end (getting to lvl 10 for the trophy is really easy solo, though you need to get to the end of lvl 25 for the multiplayer DLC trophy pack) as the amount of targets at a time scales up with how many people are in the game. They also aren't unbearably long like those Binary Domain horde maps that take 3 hours, if you reach the end you are done in 17-20 minutes.

You just have to be on the winning team in the competitive mode one time and all the rest of the standard game multiplayer trophies can be done by yourself if you so choose.

BLOPS 3 is still OK (only through Mission 2 in the campaign so far), but it somehow feels...inferior to Advanced Warfare. I guess it's a good thing I never finished that one's campaign so I'll have an excuse to play it after this one.

I tried a few local competitive matches to try and get a few easy trophies and the game would not let me start at all. It was super fucking weird and I just stopped trying, no clue what the problem was.

New ps4 stability update this morning, make sure you get it installed before you play your fancy fallout 4 tomorrow. Otherwise you may have to wait in excess of 4 minutes before you can get started!

Looks like DeAngello Williams was worth every penny.

Also feels good having the high score for the week so far, with two guys left to play still.

Happy pre fallout 4 day everybody!!!

HYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYPPPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(want to break the page but I wont so you all wont bitch and whine about it)

Read the Destructoid review. Sounds like they back up the 7.5 pretty well for the most part. Very samey in regards to FO3, weak main plot, and bugs all around. The one funny part of it is the comparison to FO3 and NV, putting it somewhere in between the two with FO3 being the weaker entry. The reason this is funny is because both games had a 9.0 on Destructoid. Different reviewers have different opinions, but it's still a pretty big discrepancy for one site. Then again detracting points for a game that's of similar quality to predecessors released 5-7 years ago is fair as well--that should have been more than enough time to improve the series but they seem to have failed in that respect.

The other main difference is that Destructoid updated their review-score "policy" over the past year to reflect more on how fun each game is, so their 7.5 isn't the same as a 7.5 from Gamespot or IGN. It's kind of dumb considering most people won't be able to tell the difference, but there it is.

Potential bugs/glitches aside, the negative consensus for FO4 seems to be the serviceable graphics (which we should have expected) and annoying inventory management (which I'll survive). I'm still excited to start it up later this week once I've finished the BLOPS 3 campaign.
