Damn now I am tempted to get the Limited Edition
XCLUSIVE.jpg

TBH< I don't recall where I imported NLKS from. I've had it since it was first released. I think I might have pre-ordered it on Amazon.co.uk - however it looks like it's only available from third-party sellers there now who don't ship to the US. Zavvi hasn't carried Vita games now for quite a while.

Seems like the main UK Vita import options remaining are Amazon (when you can find titles S&S by Amazon) or Game.
I thought Amazon UK didn't ship games and stuff to the US? I seem to remember years ago when i was importing stuff it wouldn't let me. Has that changed?

blue vita from gs is out but it's not available within 100 miles, arghhhhh
Check your local Best Buy. Evidently they carry them too for some reason

I work for Best Buy HaloGX, if Best Buy's corporate office could dictate to their employees how to use the bathroom they would!

Two weeks ago a new policy went into effect and a co-worker and I made a simple sign using MS Word on one of the work terminals to put up at our counter to notify our customer's of such and about an hour later a manager was informing us, and I'm not making this up, "The Magic Castle says the wording needs to be changed on this to read this way". And we just looked at him, and finally I broke the silence and asked him what on earth he was talking about. So the manager explains that the corporate marketing department is code named "The Magic Castle" and has to approve all non-issued signage, so he had taken a picture of our sign earlier and e-mailed it to them for approval.

We take orders from some anonymous "marketing people" who call themselves, the fuck ing "Magic Castle". I'd tell you doesn't get much lamer than that, but that would be a lie. It's bad enough that a marketing department calling themselves "The Magic Castle" invokes mental imagery of a bunch of cos-playing D&D gamers siting around a board room table atop giant plush unicorns having discussions about where mayonnaise comes from and settling all their arguments in PvP battles that involve D20 dice rolls.

But no, then there is Geek Squad High Command, which fancies itself to be modeled after Starfleet Command... yeah. :wall:
Holy crapballs... i hope this post is a joke. If not... damn =P

I haven't imported anything too recently, but I was able to import Xillia 2 and Child of Light (Vita) when they released without any issues. Could it depend on the publisher?

Yeah, Amazon UK (and all the other Euro Amazons) started allowing US orders a couple years ago. They are my first stop for imports these days. They still prohibit imports on some items from time to time, but it's increasingly rare.

Most third-party sellers (i.e. items that aren't Shipped & Sold by Amazon) still don't ship to the US though.

Also worth mention that GameStop had dropped the used copy price of Freedom Wars down to $7.99 back during the summer, but then jacked it up to the current over $10 price whan fall began. Didn't think much of it at the time, but now I see why they did it, so they could stockpile for this black friday sale, just like they did with Final Fantasy XIII for PS4 and X360 a year or two ago.

That "who knows what" is the part that legitimately gives me the creeps. I could tell you some horror stories about GameStop entities I've had encounters with. :whistle2:?
but those are used and the ad shows new copies, of course they could say they are just w no seal, but putting them in the ad and they not being sealed can cause issues for them due to their extended return period etc

It's great you can use your US Amazon account on the foreign Amazon's, but I wish you could use your use credit/gift card balance on foreign Amazon's too.

when they sell gutted new copies they usually seal the opening there self and if that seal is broken it the same thing as opening a new one policy

I'm hoping that the GSes around me will still have enough Vita games for the B2G1 deal on Black Friday. I managed to pick up a few more Vita games on the cheap from the 50% HPB coupon today, so I'm well on the way to a full U.S. collection.

Knowing it'll be crazy on BF, I decided to go ahead and use my buy 2 get 1 free on used games coupon for joining GS Pro this Saturday.  I also grabbed a couple games at another store because of rarity in my area.

The Haul?

Store1:

Hyperdimmension Neptuna Re:Birth 1 (under $25 after tax, the only used copy in 50 miles of me)

Hyperdimmension Neptuna Producing Perfection (I know, but it was under $10 after tax)

Store 2:

Hyperdimmension Neptuna Re:Birth 2 (under $25 after tax, the only used copy in 50 miles of me)

Hyperdimmension Neptuna Re:Birth 3 (under $25 after tax, the only used copy in 50 miles of me)

Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 (FREE, due to the coupon)

Tetris (under $10, one of the few that got converted from New to Used... I had to get them to check the new games to get my copy)

Touch My Katamari (under $10, only complete copy I've seen anywhere near me, seemed worth getting)

Add to that my last Amazon order finally came in with Akiba's Trip & Playstation All-Stars... and my collection greatly expanded on Saturday.

Being in a fighting game mood lately so I popped UMvC3 in Saturday night.  I played that all weekend and so much last night that I felt like the Vita was giving me carpel tunnels!  FANTASTIC GAME.  Now that has what my old school brain would call Fan Service (versus what the kids today use that term for).

...

Cheapest way to get Tales of Hearts R?  If you shop at GS a lot, save your points and burn them on a good coupon towards used games.  Used or new, as long as the game has the box and art, you are golden.  Otherwise, black friday's Buy 2 get 1 sale on used games is your best bet.  I used 8000 points and got a $10 off coupon myself which made my copy $17 and change after tax and all.

What proportion of physical vs. digital games do you guys own? Obviously it would depend on what kind of games you're into but I'm just wondering if i should skip the small memory cards and jump straight for a larger one or if any of you get by just fine with a small card.

My memory card is about 30 gigs filled maybe? I do get a bunch of PS+ games and the occasional digital title, though I'm generally physical all the way. It fills up relatively quickly after a while mainly if you've been collecting PS+ games. I say bigger is better, and you wont have to do like me and buy an expensive 32 gig and then upgrade to an expensive 64 gig. You only get one of the expensive expenses then.

I'm the oddball here, I was a PSTV gamer primarily for Vita stuff... picked up a Borderlands 2 vita bundle a month ago and am making due with the 8gb card. I have 26 games regular PSN games installed (mostly digital only games but a couple have physical releases), 4 psp/mini games, 7 PS1 games, and the data with updates for 6 Vita carts. So outside of the vita cart data stuff that's 37 games installed. I'm sitting at half a gig left.

The main thing to manage with a smaller card is how many big games to have installed and installing only what you feel like you might play in the near future. Also when I finish a game I upload my save to the cloud and then delete it from my system to make room for other stuff. As is, I have plenty on my system to play and the $80 I would have paid for a 64 gig card got put into buying actual physical games that if I don't want anymore I can always sell. I figure when/if I do upgrade it, it'll be next year as I'd rather put my money into actual games right now especially with black friday sales coming and the sales after Christmas. If I get the desire to play something I don't have the space for, I'll just backup saves and delete what I haven't even started yet.

As for physical vs digital, my collection is probably more digital than physical... I think Physical is sitting around 41 games now... digital is probably 100 due to PS1/PSP sales and the PS+ stuff for the past two years and the random digital only game I've bought or got due to crossbuy.

126 Physical Vita games (another 5 currently on pre-order).

Digital collection is easily between 100-200 games if counting PSP/PS1/PS+ Games.  Not sure on an exact number, but was well over 100 last time I counted.

32GB memory stick has a couple of Gigs left. I only keep what I am currently playing or planning to play on there though.  I definitely wouldn't go any smaller than a 32GB stick.  I would easily need a 256/512GB memory stick to hold all of my collection :p

Physical Games: 95

Digital Games: 2 - And only have them because they were sold at retail (MLB 15: The Show and Minecraft).

If you plan on playing mostly indies, those are usually smaller. Retro City Rampage is about 300 MB, for example. If you want all the Atelier Plus (cause they're only digital), they're like 2-3 GB per, and you'll want to skip straight to a larger card.

Honestly, go small, or or go big. There's no in-between. Get an 8 GB card for cheap if you can, then get a 64 GB if you find yourself needing more. I don't think the 32 GB card is worth the money, when the 64 GB is like 25% more.

Groupon has 64gb for $70 every now and then if you watch for it and patient and if you have discover you get 5% cash back (double that if signed up for the 12 months double promo couple months back) so made the one I got about $66 awhile back (or about $63)

Yeah i do agree with the sentiment. Get the 64 gig or go smaller. 32 was good back then, but it can and will fill up. Don't waste money on it now with 64 gig being a bit more.

Holy crap.... 126?!!!!
I have some catching up to do.

Wasn't counting the psp stuff, but that would add maybe 10-15 more total.

Ya...I prefer physical, but I have a ton of digital stuff between PS+, digital-only games, and cheap sale games. Plus, a few of my physical games (like Killzone) have pretty big patches in the 1 GB range. I have a 32 gb card, but it's consistently full, and I always find myself trying to decide what to delete to make room whenever I buy something new.

Granted, I have the same issue with my 160 GB slim ps3...but hey...

I guess I'm in the minority.  I only count games that came out for Vita and not PS1 titles that can be played on Vita (I think I have like 10-15 PS1 titles)

Physical: 3 (ToH, FFX, Danganronpa)

Digital: 4, 3 of which were cross buy.

I used to be fine with a 16GB Vita memory card, but then the Atelier Plus games all ended up being digital only, hoarding all of my memory space...

I'm glad the new Atelier Escha & Logy Plus is finally in a physical edition, because I don't have anymore room.

Anyways, besides that I think in total I have like 10 digital games and probably 30 physical games.

140 physical games. About to go pick up Norn9 today too to keep up at all releases at 141 (counting SUPERBEAT that I already got but doesn't technically release until tomorrow)

32GB card. Thought about getting a 64GB, but I don't keep everything digital installed, only about 5 games at a time. I also don't keep the physical installs in place all the time. It makes the menus look like a mess. Only about 5 at a time there too. I'd go nuts if I didn't do that since it helps me focus on playing what is installed and it creates a mental "barrier" that I have to jump over if I want to swap out an existing install for another. That's usually the metric I use to decide if I just don't want to keep playing a game at all and retire it.

It also makes it fun when I finally complete a game and get to uninstall it and slot in something new.

OK you guys are crazy, haha. Some of you own more games for the vita that I have ever owned for every console. I was asking because I'm thinking about picking up a used vita bundle that includes a 16 and an 8 gig card at a decently good price but was thinking that maybe it wouldn't be so good if I were to need a 32/64 gig card in the future. I didn't consider that I could just delete and re-download games as I play through them. Given that, and my preference for physical if I can get it, a 16+8 sounds fine for me.

Thanks.

If they put out a 128GB card for the Vita, I'd pick it up pretty quick. Imported a 64gb from superufo about a year ago, but I still have to limit what I install. I think I have over 100 games digitally on the card now, a mix of all types. Well worth the price for the 64, for the convenience of having a pretty big library ready to play at any time. Although it does make it harder to choose what to play sometimes.

Yeah, physical games barely take up any space. I have 48 physical games on my 8gb card and still room for psp games and stuff, so you should be okay.

I need a 256g card, for what it's worth. Tons of digital collected over years of sales.

The answer is really simple imo -- do you like the idea of having things like a page [or folder] dedicated to every Final Fantasy? Or pick your franchises/genres -- be it Silent Hill or Resident Evil or the Chronos or whatever.... I like having all my games on digital display, nicely organized. A 64g is nice, but really, I'd love quadruple that.

You'll be fine with a 16g to start, and you'll know soon enough whether you need a 64g or not.

Here is a good chart so that you can get an idea of how big the vita games are. I would say average is 1GB unless you buy digital indie like games which are smaller. Many need patches as well. I think the biggest game is Killzone Mercenary which is 3.95GB + a big patch if I remember correctly. I think it doesn't even fit in a 4GB card alone. I myself have 2 8GBs and 1 4GB, because I got one 8Gb for $3 at kmart long ago. Even with all that, my space is tight and I barely have digital games. I prefer physical carts because I believe the read writes for it will make it last vs the cards that will likely fail much faster, but you can always have a backup of the games somewhere else though.

You mean 48 game saves+patches+etc?

How can you fit 48 retail games in 8GB?
since he said physical games I'm thinking he means the saves and stuff which are very tiny some only kb size not the actual games themselves or at least that what it look like

Since we are discussing memory cards, where is the best place to get one as far as price/reliability? I've been watching the 64GB cards on Amazon for about 3 months but I haven't seen them go lower than $85. At $70 I would definitely bite, and I'm hoping to see some kind of sale somewhere for BF. Where else can I look? Would importing be cheaper?

superufo I believe was the cheapest w/out any offers, but I think others have come down more than them by now, usually between $75-79 before shipping (if any) at most places online. As far as reliability it depends on how much stuff you are writing/removing/etc since its flash it has a determinate lifespan and I guess some games write a lot to them or maybe the system is shitty in its indexing and its killing more cycles than needed which is why you see some people on amazon giving it bad reviews due to dying early. All should be the same in terms of quality since there are no clones.

I was thinking more about reliability in terms of the online vendors since I usually only buy from Amazon or BB for the most part. But thanks, that's good info as well.

I found superufo to be very reliable, I think other CAGS had good experiences with them as well. The 64gb is 77.43 right now, with 1.19 extra for airmail shipping (may be extra to add tracking):

There might be better deals as we approach the holidays of course.

As today is a release day. The Vita R1 Checklist and Directory have been updated. Actually, the R1 Directory is a fairly major update as I have made the effort over the last several days to ensure all of the Canada packaging release variations are documented... if anyone here is in Canada and notices something that I've missed please let me know. As far as I am presently aware, all that is absent Canada-wise are the last six digits of the UPC for MLB 12: The Show.

http://www.segaforums.com/hosted/psoarchive/collect/

Worth mentioning while on the subject that many mid-western based American retailers oft use Canadian distribution companies and therefore frequently stock games packaged for the Canadian market. So while the packaging was intended specifically for the Canadian market, it is not uncommon for such games to show up south of Canada. Further worth noting that all photographic evidence I have come across in the last several months indicates that aside from having a slightly different outer jacket, the game cart contained within have all been identical to the U.S.A. releases in every encountered instance thus far.

Well that's good to know. Wasn't the case years ago when i was importing some stuff. Thanks for the heads up. I'm guessing you just go to amazon.uk and order through there directly?

Pretty much all physical. I almost never buy digital. Most of my digital stuff is psp/ps1 games that i also have physical copies of. Hmm i wonder how many vita games i do have. I guess i'll have to count.
