I'm spending a week between my parents and my sister's. Not taking my XB1, but taking my 360 because we still can't fuck ing buy stuff from the fuck ing web marketplace with fuck ing XBL credit.

Also, Joy Ride Turbo and World of Keflings both half off Gold for 360.

The Dragon Age Inquisition GOTY at $24 is a no brainer - and I say that already having put many many hours into it w/ EA Access.

Each expansion DLC right now comes to $28. But the GOTY is $24 - plus you get the Deluxe upgrade and some other customization DLC.

I am really tempted and then I see I have DA 1 + 2 with all the DLC and I have never even started the game. Sometimes a great deal ends up in the gutter.

I just did that thing on TrueAchievements where it shows you your first achievement ever. Mine was "Get Me Started" from Battlefield Bad Company. Fitting I guess.

Wait, there were sales yesterday?  Xbldb shows DLC for Dishonored which means I might actually buy something. 

Hmmmm, $12.24 for Saints Row IV.   Very tempting.

And there's Portal tempting me at $6.64, even though I suck at it.

If you're even vaguely interested in DA: I and you don't jump on it for this price, you are doing it very very wrong.

 
DA I was very good but the more semi- linear worlds of Origins and DA II made for much more cohesive storytelling. Nothing beats Origins, in particular. Inquisition gave you this big ass world to play around in, but most of it was just large swaths of nothing. Felt like another EA-ified Dragon Age game, missing that old Bioware soul.

I can agree with that. A lot of the people working on it are younger, and it shows considering it plays more like an mmo and less than a proper rpg. The Trespasser dlc, however, is absolutely phenomenal and I dare it's better than the main story. Probably because it was written by a better writer and not that hack Gaider.
 
DA Origins is really dated at this point though. The world building stuff holds up pretty well but the game was really dated from a technical perspective when it came out and time hasn't done it any favors. It's still perfectly playable buy when I went back to play it again last year it felt very dated.

Inquisition is so much more fun and accessible than the others. I have maybe 5 total playtime hours between da1 and 2 but I have probably about 200 in inquisition. Seriously addictive and fun. I haven't even touched the MP.

Yeah, I put about 250 hours into Inquisition. The multiplayer isn't all that great. It's self contained co-op stuff that makes you grind for the smallest reward. You're not missing much. The single player mode is phenomenal. I don't regret buying it day one. This is a great deal for this game.

Okay people, need some opinions:

Assuming the daily deals for tomorrow have been announced already, should I purchase Tomb Raider Underworld for $4, Saints Row IV for ~$8 or save the money?

 
I really, really want to like the Dragon Age games.

I've had DA:I installed with EA Access for months but never touched it. I was determined to finish DA 1 and 2 first, but I can't even make it halfway through the first one. I'm not a fan of the combat system, the characters and story are pretty bland, and I can't get into the medieval fantasy theme. I couldn't get into Skyrim for that same reason. I finished Oblivion but only because it was one of the first 360 games I bought so I didn't have much else to play.

Though I may have to try Inquisition for the Egoraptor cameo.

The known deals are at the top of the OP, except Silver XB1 discounts. Until one of the official sites (Major Nelson, xbox.com, Dashboard) updates, we don't know what's daily and what might be weekly / countdown long deals.

I would say do it. I've played quite a bit of it and I really enjoy it. For me, the map and game variety is sufficient so far. Then again, I've put in about 30-35 hours and I'm not the kind of person who plays 3-4 hours per day every day like really dedicated FPS players might.

Like most people will tell you, a lot of your satisfaction with it will be determined by what type of shooters you like and how far some really solid Star Wars nostalgia gets you. I don't need a competitive shooter that takes random crap and luck out of the equation, so I don't mind getting mowed down by an AT-AT or Luke Skywalker all of a sudden. I think the vehicles, star cards, hero tokens, etc. really make it a lot more fun.

TL;DR: If you played the beta or trial and liked it, I think you'll probably get enough use out of it to justify the $32, at least.

 
I currently have 121 items in the OP under the Countdown heading, which doesn't include the "Date Night" 360 Gold only deals at the very top.  Some of the countdown items will be the weekly XB1 Deals with Gold, probably won't know which until there's an official announcement.  Since they announced there would be "over 200 deals" in the countdown, and depending how far "over" they go, just to temper expectations, that averages out to 5-6 items for each daily deal.

Hope there are some decent daily deals. Otherwise it'll be another one of those where MS gathered around the table and said hey let's have the "biggest sale ever" with hundreds of games .... at our normal crap "sale" prices.
