This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

I've started buying in Putinland almost 2 years ago, when the pricing was just a lowered amount in USD. I really doubt I screwed up.
Just saying, it's a good idea to spend all owned blue coins next time you'll be shopping in Russia.
AshotP and Psyringe are on the hunt and it took them 46min to lock my account after my order.
I keep buying stuff from them that way, recently even, but maybe I keep missing the watchful eye of asshot. *shrug*

Also I never keep more than around a dollar in blue coins or else I spend it on some crap +1 dlc or something.
Any games removed from the steam store yet? It's around that time when it starts happening
Descent 1 and 2 should be disappearing soon if you feel like spending $5 each on some old ass raggedy games.

How does Far Cry 4 run on an r9 280x? If it can get 60 on high at 1080 with very minimal fps drops, then I'm gonna get it since I dont see nothing else in this sale.

Some good hidden gems-

Iron Fisticle- $1.79 (roguelike old school guantlet)

Adventures of Pip- $7.49(one of my top 10 indie games this year)

Elliot Quest- $4.99 (excellent Zelda II clone mixed with great pixel art and some metroidvania elements too.

Iron Fisticle tries to be Super Smash TV. It's hard as heck by yourself. I've gotten through a few levels alone. Least you can buy permanent upgrades. It's decent.

You should do pretty well with your 280x. Mix with Ultra and High if you want higher avg. What VRAM amount you got? 2GB or 4GB?

They did a test run here at 2:20 mark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESeFXwGfBsI&t=2m20s

I know I don't have a R9 280X card and all...but my 4GB NVidia GTX 960 can handle in the 40-50 frames realm with some stuff on High and some at their Maximum at 1080p.

Rest of my PC = i7 950; 16 GB RAM; Win 7 64-bit.

I've got them on my virtual GOG DRM-free wood shelf! /MysterD

Although the GOG wood shelf just isn't the same since they changed the design a while ago.
I have Freespace 1+2 on my GOG DRM-FREE catalog.

I don't have Descent 1,2,3, and Underworld on Steam or GOG.

EDIT:

I so miss that GOG digital wood shelf...

It's a lot like that, yeah, but with permanent upgrades. It's a bit of a grind, but it's not hard to finish the game on the normal level. I quite like it, though I'm, admittedly, a bit of a nut for twin stick shooters.

Edit: dammit you all and your Watch Dogs purchases...

Why is Watch Dogs such hot shit now? Are people trying to pretend it's a price mustake because the complete is cheaper than the base? Valve isn't Ashot P and wouldn't leave that shit up all day eith a price mistake.

Or is it like 4 cents in Cambodia or something?

That DLC ain't worth much I got the SP for like a dollar from some shady ass site.

It's like 6 dollars in koalaville

there an easy to determine if a game is runlocked from putin? Tempted to get vermintide since its ~5.50. The package i found just says only purchasable in russia but nothing about run locking

First and easiest way is to check the URL. In the case of Vermintide, it ends in a RU so, yes, it's region locked to Russia.

When it was in pre-order, it wasn't locked but has been locked since.

Do you just lose access to buying privilege at Gamersgate when you get caught and "banned" or do they actually lock out your entire account from access?

Just asking because I have some DRM-Free games there from a long time ago and would rather create a new account than risk getting my main account "banned" or whatever Gamersgate does.

While legally they are free to prevent me from buying from their store forever, I'm not sure how legal it is to prevent me accessing and downloading games I've already purchased from them in the past despite what their TOS says.

Has anyone brought up Victor Vran's stupid multipack pricing this steam "sale"?

Anyone want to go in on a 4-pack so we each can spend an extra nickel on it?

You guys and your crazy purchases... Motoki had the right idea with this F2P dragon thing... it's like crack... for free.  I'm a super cheap ass gamer now!  Muahahahah.... (that and I'm really tempted to plop some money on Apple TV because that was pretty fun as well)

It's a blanket ban, not just a purchase restriction.

I will have to friend you on there. It goes through (my fake) Facebook though.

just create an alt. that's what I did. I have many drm free games that isn't available elsewhere on my main.

they will ban u straight out with removal of access to the entire account

Damn, that's pretty crazy. Well, I guess I'll need a alt....should I ever decide to buy from GG (which isn't likely anytime soon) and take a trip to Russia

Thanks for answering

Hey, at least they're not outright selling stolen keys off out of an office in a tiny village in Eastern Buttskistan.
Nope, you're just using the address of the office in Eastern Buttskistan as your address making them think they have to compete with the Buttski commie fuck s.

No seriously guise CD keys is 2 shady 4 me.

*activates Russian VPN to buy games out of region*

CAG pls
There's a pretty huge difference between me buying something from the Russian store and someone from Russia taking my GG account and using my coins to buy a game to sell on shady sites that select folks say are totally legit.

Quick, ask me about how I know the second one happens...

so how does that happen, Mr.Turtle?

Besides, CAGs don't just do it to save money.

They do it to make Ashot P lose money.
wat u got against ashot p

He's actually been pretty nice in my experience.. just not when you're VPNing lol. Psyringe is a nice guy as well, I added him on steam and he personally fixed an issue for me.

I KNEW IT!

Spoderman ratted everyone here on their "trips to Russia" to his friends at GG ....he's compromised people!

I mean, he was already compromised....but more so now

If you think about it...Motoki was posting the Putin gaming instructions....he gotcha

And you're amateurs, I bought a game with a russian vpn. gifted a copy...asked for a refund because it turned out it needed to be activated in Russia...got my credit back AND got the keep the key that was gifted.

I'm probably the only CAG that doesn't give a shit about the Watch Dongs Steam kangaroo mistake because I already have it on UPlay
