This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

Daggum it! I fiddlefarted around here too long and forgot to buy Windward before the sale ended. :(
Well hopefully it gets bundled soon. I went back and forth on buying a cheap copy but I'm not sure how much I'd play it so I waited, although I do see its now scheduled for a Bro night.

I don't suppose we could find 10 people that want to do a split for this? Greenlight stuff but will give keys. Comes to 50 cents each per bundle if you buy 10 or 60 cents each if you buy 5.

I mostly want Royal Heroes and for 50-60 cents I'd be in for it.
Okay, I'll host. I'm sent a big list of keys and will have to send you the Steam keys once they are greenlit. I'll PM you guys who are interested. 10/10 spots filled.

And are any of you interested in the OtakuMaker Steam Bundle #2? The price is the same (10 for $0.50 each) and the games are:

  • Silver Knight (new to bundles, but only $2)
  • Dungeons are Random
  • Alum
  • The Deer
  • The Great Escape
  • ANKI

Would take a spot if there is a shortage of interest and it needs to be filled, but not really seeing anything I'd play. You can put me down though unless someone takes my spot.

I think I'm the only person in this thread that only adds games to my steam account if I'll actually play them, even if it's only for the 5 minutes.

I've given away +1s if I know they are not for me or the multiplayer has been long dead or such. Why crowd my Steam library with garbage. I want it to be that I can go to a random entry and at least want to try it.

Commander: Conquest DLC you may want: 2WI7K-YG7N0-R44ZG (not DLC as I looked, but whatever. If it activates. Take it)

Microids drop:PBPIL-V52L7-67E2E (nostradamus)

RAAFV-L789L-40DQ8 (gods)

E37CJ-5LYV3-WM2IN (gods)

Haegenomia: ZHYH0-RPM3J-6PRA5

Haegenomia: PZYZG-VCN66-HQTA4

Any thoughts on Mordheim: City of the Damned ... Currently on sale for 40% off and I'm intrigued, but I can't figure out what type of game it's similar to. Is it kind of like Dragon Age? Better question ... how is it?

Kind of get a bit of a Lovecraft vibe from it ... but as someone who already picked up Bloodborne and has yet to play it, is Mordheim still worth the buy?

similar to xcom enemy unknown

Nice, think I might pass for now then ... I still need to finish the original Xcom + expansion before the sequel comes out. And with Mordheim's mixed reviews on Metacritic, I'm betting it will drop way lower during the next seasonal sale.

If you want that FNAF World game that was removed for some reason:

Just plug this: steam://install/427920

into a browser as long as you're logged into Steam and the client is running and it should start installing

Apparently I just got suspended on SG for...at present, 2 weeks, for winning same games, at least dating back to 2013 (but just being "caught" half an hour ago). Shit, how I supposed to know what I already won? Why they letting me enter for games I already own.

Anyone else experience this? (Also love that they want me to return the code to the original giveaway provider...from years ago)

SG is full of elitist, pretentious Euro trash moderators. It's the haughty-yet-depraved Tumblr of Steam-based websites where you have to be antisocial with a gender identity disorder spending 10 hours a day solving puzzles to be important, and everyone else is treated unfairly by an unwashed Lithuanian he-she with a superiority complex. That's what you get for being a cisgender American! (even if you're Canadian)

I've never been banned or suspended there, but I have posted topics multiple times bitching them out for being dishonest, biased douchebags. I also ranted on about how SG reputation is utterly useless since lonely nerds are allowed to give positive rep to men who pretend to be women with cute girl/anime girl/disgusting female furry avatars and that's perfectly fine. The website is good enough when you're doing group-only giveaways, but the community and everyone in it basically sucks.

P.S.: fuck you vempajor and moderator Ronix who wouldn't let me re-roll your wins because "*nasally fat kid voice* he was technically in the group when the giveaway ended and it is not our job or responsibility to allow a re-roll if he wasn't meant to be in the group *adjusts carpal-tunnel wrist strap, eats Hot Pocket and pisses in a Gatorade bottle*"

Seriously, fuck those steamgift "puzzles".  I spent an hour figuring out the answers to one only to see bundle trash I already had.  Now I don't bother anymore.

This is why you should just buy mystery bundles. You get all the disappointment right away without having to work for it.

Do we know how microsoft games are even coming to PC?
Gears of War and KI still not out yet. Is it going to be Steam, a new client?

Overall good news though, Max Payne and Alan Wake are both pretty good games, although I think Alan Wake got a bit repetitive.

Who knows with Microsoft. [shrug]

While they have been recently putting games on Steam of late, since GFWL tanked horribly + is an absolute piece of client-garbage - it wouldn't surprise me if they do decide to create a new client at some point.

They do have that Windows 10 Store - so it also wouldn't surprise me even if they make their games exclusive to be sold on the PC via that service digitally.

Only time will tell what they do.

I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if Microsoft ties their games to the Win 10 store, or tries to make some sort of Xbox client for the PC. The only way I'm ok with this, since we don'e need yet another client dirtying the water, is if they really commit to making it a great service with great prices. Someone needs to come along and challenge Steam's dominance if we're ever going to get some real sales again...

I read about Killer Instinct on PC being exclusive to the Windows 10 store unfortunately.

lol can't believe that worked.

Did they make the game free to play?

Edit: Holy fuck what a POS this game is. It reminds me of a bad newgrounds flash game. As soon as I deleted it, the game disappeared from my library. Thank god.

That's worse than Steam. At least when a game is through Steam (or Uplay, Origin, etc) you can find it cheaper from third party retailers. If a game is exclusive to a single store, you're stuck with whatever they stick you with.

Steam does have competition on the storefront side -- itself. Steam generates the retail keys you buy cheaper from Gamesbillet and gets nothing out of it. The lack of deep discounts is less a competition issue than it is a "Everyone had some insane we'll make it up in volume if we discount our new AAA game 80% three weeks after release mentality back in 2012 and have since wised up" issue.

There are a lot of features that this game should have had before release, features that I was told about, but ignored and didn’t implement. Features such as being able to see what abilities do during battle, or being able to see a stats page for your characters. These are features that any good RPG would have.

I showed up for bro-night. Logged into Spintires for about 20 minutes. Didn't hear from anyone so I bailed. I guess i'll need a better understanding how this dealio works.

Damn, sorry man, didn't realize you had showed up for it. Usually we all log into the Discord app to chat when events start and you can log in with no mic so you can at least hear what we're saying (what server to go on, etc.) You can also always message us on Steam chat too. We had 4 people initially and then 5 total and we split into two rooms (since max player count per room is 4) and just got done (spoder and blade and reds are still playing I think).

u need to type ur Steam password for bro-night entry, dude
And social.

Yeah, Discord is definitely the best place to check in.

Brodate:

We came, we got stuck in the mud.

Seriously, this is a getting stuck simulator. First game it took me less than a minute to end up on my side and the bros couldn't figure out how to turn me over (Blade you suck). We restarted and I was in the group with Duke and he is a master trucker. Got me unstuck, winched me, etc. We roamed around the map for two hours trying to complete objectives and uncover new parts of the map.

You wouldn't think that moving slow and getting stuck all the time would be fun, but it actually was. I floated across a great river in a giant tank like truck and steam rolled over trees.
