I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

So, I am a silly bastard and bought CoD:BLOPS3 from amazon when it hit $27 and change. I got it on Friday & didn't bother trying to play it until Sunday. Installed the game and went to launch it. Black Screen. Hmnn... Ctrl-alt-del. Re-launch... ok good Activision logo.. black screen. Alt-tab out to see that the game has crashed.. great! Spend the next couple hours trying to fix it. Tried everything google says, modified my config file, reinstalled all my drivers, ran Dxdiag, checked integrity, uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled and reinstalled from the goddam DISCS... etc etc etc. Tried again Monday night and Tuesday.. if I don't get this thing working today I am going to be mighty pissed.

The only option I can think of is actually taking advantage of the free win7 > 10 upgrade a little sooner than I had planned. Ad yes, my computer is well over the min specs for the game so it's not that.

All that said - yes I bought a CoD game and I probably deserve it. I was looking for a high-production value FPS and it was a pretty good discount and I used up some of my free amazon$ ... ok!??!

If anyone has had this problem and manged to fix it, please let me know.

One suggests to dig into the game-folders and give the EXE's for both Steam + BO3 and gave admin rights to both.

Another suggests to mess w/ Dynamic Lighting and AO settings - i.e. turn them down or off.

I don't have the game, but seems this thread has some solutions.

Seems like this game can be hit + miss to get going; and can be a pain to keep running properly, though.

Wait, is there an option that visually displays the turns? The audio navigation is great, but I still drive off a cliff regularly due to right/left dyslexia. I just today figured out the cockpit FOV slider.

Absolutely. Just saw that you scheduled it for next week, which hopefully will be enough time to get the initial open beta server issues ironed out. Still haven't played SNOW with other people, even though I pandabro'd it a couple years ago.

 
Console people are losing their shit over Saturday Morning RPG (ZOMG it might sell out!) on the Vita thread.

Are they really that hard up for games?

There are symbols at the top that show you turns coming up, plus how sharp they are. I don't know how to turn it on/off, its always been there by default for me.

yeah, i was reading some of the most recent views regarding the server issues, i will be testing it for myself probably this weekend or monday to see how it goes.
 
ok, i just loaded up the snow game, i am running into some issues creating my own rooms rofl

but the game allows 10 max players in one room, so if any1 here can figure out how to create their own room, we would not have to split up in groups
 
Would anyone be up for Next Car Game Wreckfest? I remember Vooyah mentioned it awhile back and I'd be interested in playing it, not sure how many people own it yet though.

Complete HUD on/off will turn it on or off. I think there is a way to customize the HUD too but haven't found it (and can't check it til tomorrow).


Tried a couple times driving without the HUD, it went very poorly. Without the visual indicators my goldfish memory kept forgetting if the left after the right 6 was a 1 or a 4.
 
Dirt Rally was Dirt Boring in multi. Not enough options for group play. Game looks nice and its supposedly more fun single player, but oof. But for tradition here's a screenshot of Fox all banged up.

What Archibishopthedoge said.  Game was a thumbs down for MP.  SP supposedly is really good if skating around in smart cars is your thing.  Spintires was much better.

Tomorrow we kill zombies who were nazis but are not nazi zombie armies.  With snipes.  Not wesley though.

Did not realize Fox had the Red Bull car. Now I know who took me out on that last race... and if someone else had a Red Bull car, I'm still blaming him.

I usually like racing games without the HUD, but I have enough problems with dirt rally without wanting to turn it off.

Yeah, it was hugely disappointing. Really glad I didn't pay for it.

Sorry I wound up spacing out half way through it.

I thought I saw some different colored cars during the race, maybe not. Of course, this was because I was usually no where near the other cars as I was spinning out in the grass.
