This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

It depends on the game. The Trackmania games are really fun but everyone races separately. You can make your own tracks in those though which is where half the fun comes from. I might do another Trackmania event sometime, the last one we did in BGCQ was great.
Even I would be interested in that... if it's on a Friday or Saturday.

Have there ever been a SpeedRunners brodate? If not, I would like to nominate that title for one

(supposedly most CAG here have that game from Humble Bundle, right? RIGHT?)
I know SpeedRunners was the backup game for at least one event when the game sucked and we needed something else to play. Also played it a few times in BGCQ. It's a good game and worth scheduling though.

Oh yeah, and while Syntax was totally banned from the event, he failed to show up.
Fox has been treating me very unfairly and everyone knows that I'm the draw to these events. If Fox continues to treat me in such an unprofessional manner, I'm going to skip the event tonight as well and instead hold a charity event for wounded zombie warriors. I think everyone knows that Fox needs me more than I need him.

You can't bully me Fox.  My event is going to be great, really great.  This is going to be the greatest zombie warrior event anyone has ever had and Fox is going to pay for it because that's how wrong he is.

I guess I'll just check reddit for deals and the Poopees thread for shits and grins and Anal Knights and stop checking here for a while.

Most of the posts here lately are 'bro' multiplayer game jibber jabber which I don't give a ShaqFu about.

Deals are few and far between. We need *something* to keep us occupied. I quite like the "bro" chat, it's amusing and above all else it gives an insight into people actually playing their games. The hunt for +1s has gone stale, it's old news and nowhere near as fun anymore. Playing games, that's actually kinda fun.

Right?

Right?

I'm nearing the end of Guild of Dungeoneering which is a relief because j see Darkest Dungeon taking over shortly. You know how with some games you pussyfoot around the main bulk of the game and just go after all the low-hanging-fruit until there's nothing but hard stuff left to do? That's me with Darkest Dungeon. I'll freely admit that I'm a coward who's scared of losing his vestal and I don't care who knows it.

...

I'll probably weep when she inevitably carks it.

You know, I stopped playing State of Decay when my favorite character got killed by a horde a zombies. It was a huge bummer. I really liked the guy and I only went out on some small errand near my base. And then they came from everywhere and tore him to shreds.

Pretty much how I felt on first attempt. I'd put 7-8 hours in by that stage.

I actually beat State of Decay last year but with the addition of the "realistic zombies" patch which makes them shamble along, a la Romero, rather than run at you, a la 28 Days Later rage virus. Sure it made the game a little easier but I enjoyed it much more as a result.

It did make the final mission a bit of a doddle, mind.

Motoki does know that Gamer is the last part of the title of this website right? I mean, if there's no real deals to be had, then gaming should be the next logical conversation. I suppose we could talk about burgers and pizza for the next few days (or weeks). But I rather like the discussion moving to our backlogs when no real deals are available. I for one have been stuck on Mechwarrior Online for the last couple of weeks. There's something rather satisfying about building your walking tank into a killing machine and wiping the floor with the opposing team. Plus, it's free. Double win.

Is that an option, or are they only shambling zombies now?

Oooooh! Let's talk about pizza!

It was a mod if I recall, not an official option. It leaves an element of danger as you can still get swarmed in tight spaces, but it just makes things more palatable. It just removed some of the "that's bullshit!" deaths that you occasionally get in SoD.

Good game, that. Bit clunky in places but it's one of the best "surviving the zombie apocalypse" experiences out there.

Ahh, I read that patch as official. Good to know there's a mod for it though, thanks man.

I typically rate up game reviews (if I don't, it's because I just forgot not because I'm opposed) and see the "bro chat" as more of the same. Maybe not the prattle between games stuff but certainly the "We played this and it rocked/sucked/didn't have MP because Fox is a dolt" reports.

In other game-playing news, I'm still making my way through Dragon's Dogma although I assume it'll get shelved for a bit when RotTR drops. Fun exploration, lots to see, enjoying the combat. Pawn system is nice but there's a little bit of a Catch-22 in it: Pawns tend to gravitate towards a "Guardian" inclination and a lot of people hate Guardian inclinations. You can buy potions to change your pawn's inclination but you buy them with Rift Crystals which you get from having your pawn rented which doesn't happen because your pawn is rocking Guardian. There's some workarounds (there's a clunky and time-consuming way to copy potions for cash instead of RC) but the whole system could have been a bit better done. Still, all in all a solid and enjoyable experience. I give it a "B", it's be a "B+" if it took better advantage of being on PC.

Edit: Dragon Dogs is $21.95 at Gamebillet! More like Shadybillet, am I correct?

Less than a week to go!

I'm a little bummed about the initial "world" consisting of only California & Nevada, meaning holy crap so much DLC.  Though that's not going to stop me from gettin' my Breaker Breaker on.

Eh, what's the point if you can't drive from California to Maine?! I'll wait for the complete edition in 2020.

anyone have a key laying around they want to ditch cheap. Missed it when it was in bundles, finally tried it on a free weekend and liked it, but not its not been bundled in forever. Could never score it off alienware.
