I guess Shufflepuck Cantina got an upgrade to the "VR with Deluxe Cursing" version.

Keep looking, you'll see it ...

Yeah, I know I posted this in the Bundle Stars thread earlier. But it's a much tougher crowd to play to in there apparently.

Is the new Tomb Raider better about not cramming cutscenes and qtes down your throat every 17 seconds?
Definitely. There is still a little bit of QTE stuff, but mostly in the form of "press button to grab on" to a ledge or cliff face. I thought it was significantly less intrusive than in the 2013 game. Cutscenes are still present but are (IMO) better done and don't disrupt game play nearly as much.

Does it still have the crazy content sensitive death scenes or are they gone too?
Yup, they're still there and just as fun as before.

Just to give a sense of where I'm coming from, I loved both games (and am also a huge Uncharted fan) and Rise was my game of the year last year when I played it on a friends Xbone. Can't wait to get the PC version and play through again.

That's good. The first one was ridiculous. Gameplay was fun but what I most remember about that game is how often I wish it would just shut up and let me play

Hey bros,

So far Parallacks (indef), Malkan Bro, and Hitlerbro have all come to the dark side of American Truck Simulator. We need more fakeybros. Go buy it. It's fun. It has trucks. And Amerrrrica. fuck yeah.
Waiting for Arizona as that'll determine if I'd be alright with it, or it'll just piss me off.

Brodate:

The bros played Windward.  A shipping sim where you buy, sell, ferry passengers, and fight pirates all in the name of blue (or whatever color you chose).  Despite it's simplicity, it was pretty fun for what it is.  I got to level 10.  Spoder told us that butttown is where he's at.  You gotta ask him what he means by that.

Tomorrow we play Snow.  It's F2P so if anyone wants to get fist deep in some white powder, there's no excuses.

Its a fun game. More relaxing than anything. Did you all go do a pirate combat instance? :)

G-Sync Monitors I haven't really been keeping up to date on them but has anyone else...? Is there another wave of them coming out? It looks like there's only like 9 models out right now... :???:

Yeah, there was a guy named sleeping dragons and he told Parallacks how to do it and we all did it and leveled up and got gear. It was fun. Then some other guy named Lego Boy came on and was giving away level ups because he said he hacked or something. Then spoder kept saying he was butttown population everybody.

Still only a handful of models that support that and AMD's Freesync. Probably because it's new and niche and neither has emerged as a standard if either doesn't die out.

One day GTA V will be cheap enough that I will buy it just for all the snazzy looking mods I will never check out:

From what I've read... Once you start using one its really hard to go back so I don't think they'll die out. I'm sure the screen manufactures would be far happier if they (AMD and nVIDIA) came to terms on one standard.

I have an nVIDIA card so I'm eyeing this... AOC G2460PG 24. (The 27 inch that Asus makes is just too big for the space where my PC is.)

Yeah but unless there's a standard that works across both cards and without issue it will die out.

Sooo... I found no thread for this, but here's a bundle I just found...all steam keys

Mind: Path to Thalamus Enhanced Edition
Post Apocalyptic Mayhem
Luminosity
House of Caravan
The Archetype
Alter World
Castle

I think, while niche, they both have a big enough "fan base" to see them both last*... Its just not going to help the prices all that much...

* Until new tech comes monitor side that renders them both obsolete,

Count your blessings I think it could be much worse... I'm tracking a game on a UK website that I plan to fakeybro, I know the deal on its not going to change, BUT the conversion rate fluctuates a little each day... So I go through the checkout process till I get to the point where paypal tells me what the cost will be in US dollars. (Yesterday was a bad day... It jumped 68 cents.)

ummm. so the divison is going to be like destiny, might want to invest in the season pass, or the gold edition

Is anyone surprised? It's an MMO just like Destiny.

Definitely the upshot of consoles on things like this. Can play my cheap ass copy for a few weeks, sell it off at a profit when I burn through whatever content is there, and if I like it enough I can pick it up again cheap when the good version of the game comes out.

Tried SNOW, because Bros mentioned it (and saw someone playing it earlier). Tricks are easy enough to pull off and it works well on keyboard. Just wondering around the mountain doesn't give much in XP but there is some fun in making your own jumps (and, in my case, usually wrecking on some rocks/trees). Got plenty of other modes as well if get bored of just wondering down a mountain. Only downside I ran into is I apparently lost connection with the server, but I guess you can keep playing despite that, so lost some XP gains as it couldn't connect.

Long as doing sort of reviews, two more from the fakeybro eventually to be bundled section:

Punch Club

Enjoyed it but it does get pretty grindy after a couple hours. Basically the higher you are in a stat, the higher the drop each day so you end up, much of the game, doing the same training over and over for minimal gain. Still, the building up your boxer was pretty fun til really the late game when the grind felt worse (IMO, at that point your pretty good so it's less entertaining than when you were some crummy rookie barely making it).

The Westport Independent

Censoring news articles and changing headlines galore. Not a bad little game but overpriced (supposedly it's only $5 on mobile, which would be the right price point), basically you censor articles to try to keep the government off your back and influence the minds of the people. Easy enough to play, pretty basic and doesn't quite reach the level of interest I'd expected considering the premise. It's also pretty short, could probably get all the major endings in 4 hours or so I'd reckon. In the end I liked it, but I would wait til it shows up in a bundle at a decent price, not missing a lot by skipping it for however long.

Not sure I agree with the Destiny comparisons... Destiny's season stuff has raids and whatnot were you are all but required to have a large team. (I don't play it won't assume I know the actual requirement. I just know this stuff because everyone once in awhile people solo it and its a big deal on some news sites)

I, myself, would compare it to Diablo and/or Borderlands, were the loot/difficulty seems to scale up if you have more people but its completely playable alone.

More info on the expansions:

Expansion I: Underground

This first major expansion opens up a new area to players as they explore the uncharted underworld of New York City with up to 3 friends for intense co-op action.

Expansion II: Survival

In this expansion, players will have to survive as long as possible in a very hostile environment that will challenge even the most talented agents.

Expansion III: Last Stand

Stay tuned for more information.

(link)

The above seems to be very consistent across all news sites so its likely true... One site made mention that Survival would turn the whole map into a DZ like area. Another mentioned it was a mini campaign. A couple said you had to complete the game to access it. None one seems to have any news on the Last Stand expansion.

Footage of the first expansion... (I think?)

But, what if the game has multiple season passes...?
I think this is what you were wanting to know... The Gold version is the base game with the season pass.

According to Game UK the season pass is £29.99 or something like $45 USD. (USD price doesn't seem to be official yet... I guess neither is the UK's price since its one site.) Actually, Gamestop has the season pass for $39.99 USD.

Strangely no place is selling the season pass by itself on PC yet.

Division might have 8-man raids

Huh? Nice find.

That said I have no idea what to think about that... I've never been into game allot of games with raids and I have no idea how a giant boss battle, the norm it seems, would work in Division. Surely, it wouldn't be a single enemy in the game that you needed 8 people to kill. (I mean, I'm okay with the common complaint of enemies being bullet sponges... But it's got limits.)

Hopefully, if they do have raids its more of a two team coordinated attack... aka one team has to destroy something so the other team can bypass it and get to the ultimate goal.

If it follows the trend of other MMOs, and Destiny, then the raids will have specific mechanics that the group together will have to figure out and do as a team.

We will probably find out more when the game launches.

It's going to be hard for them to come with interesting boss designs like other MMOs considering the setting of the Division is much more realistic. We'll see though I guess. I also recall them saying they wanted the best gear to come from the dark zone, so I don't know how that's going to mesh with them adding raids.

Question about Steam backup and restore for those who have used it: if I back up an install on one computer with my Steam account, can I transfer the files to another computer and restore the backup instead of reinstalling the game on the second computer?

Yes.

I've done so for games I want installed on both my main PC and HTPC.

Besides the underground I dont really see much thats enticing in the season pass. They couldnt really expect to unlock the rest of new york through expansions and completely fraction the user base in what is supposed to be a seamless MMO. So unless there are a huge amount of season pass owners the whole 'city as a large dark zone' isnt that enticing unless there are a lot of people in that mode

Survival, meh, no one usually plays those types past a single playing

I think it is smart for those getting Division on the consoles...since that Season pass is garbage IMHO. I will likely play it to completion and trade it in while it's still worth $25-$30.

I wont make the same mistake as Evolve and I still have that stinker on my shelve though it's likely going to Goodwill soon.

Haha....I wish I did my friends and I only played about 2 weeks...after unlocking all the hunters we just got bored as heck.
I only played it like twice I think (and it may have been during beta, not sure). Wasn't awful, but certainly not $60 good. But I got it for like $3 something pre order so I was fine with it.

dont waste your time on the tutorial for snow, the advanced jumping is a joke.

frresync is open standard, but why would nvidia support it? gsynch is proprietary and they get that licensing fee in every monitor it is in.

I use dual AMD freesync monitors and love them. The buggest downside of them is the cost of $550 each for the 27's that I bought.
