This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

I actually forgot to take into account the OS and the backpack and keyboard and mouse and Rise of the Tomb Raider key. I based all my pricing on Newegg. Taking all that into account it's even less of an actual "rip off."

Eh, sure. Some do. I don't but there's legitimate reasons to do so: Single-source warranty, tested machine right out of the box, not wasting time fiddling with building (or weeks on an RMA), etc. I think many people who start with a prebuilt eventually open it for some easy upgrades such as adding memory or maybe a new graphics card and from there get the bug to build their own. It's a stepping stone to the whole "PC Master Race Build Your Own" mindset.

I was wondering why there was a lack of "omg this sael suckzz11!!1" posts so I looked on my activity feed and realized its because y'all are buying shit like crazy.
 
People are weird.

Nothing on my wishlist is better than 50% off but then this isn't a "major" sale anyway so mentioning that it's unimpressive seems unnecessary.

I blame Malkan. He said he would release compromising pictures of me if I didn't buy the UT pack and possibly H1Z1. He isn't decided on H1Z1 yet. That's what you get for trusting bros. Spoder is honest. He keeps all my noodz to himself. Here's a free one though:

Im thinking of picking up Zombi and Silent Hill Homecoming but don't feel the need to buy anything just to buy it. I heard the Silent Hill port isn't very good and it's an old one, but its the only one on PC so I'm tempted to pick it up.

 
I played Zombi for about two days and then got distracted and never felt inclined to go back.  I blame Fox for saying I should buy it.  At least it was a cheapy Nuuvem purchase.  I played Silent Hill Homecoming but stopped because it was terrible and not-fun.

It helps if don't just wishlist AAA shit. Most of that is on meh sales or old as dirt.

But there's a few decent and a ton of not so decent indie and small pub stuff with fairly good discounts.

It's the only one on Steam, 2, 3 and 4 are available on PC. I would say the port is fine given its age, it just hasn't aged well in the terms of interface and controls. If you can get past that it's standard Silent Hill affair...which is awesome.

Seriously though, the controls suck.

Yep. This is what I did when I upgraded last. Got a prebuilt with an eh GPU/PSU and upgraded both of those immediately. Made things a helluva lot easier than waiting for individual parts. I definitely am building my own from scratch next, but this was a good way to start.

I only have like three or four "AAA games" listed anyway (and I can ditch AC:Syn since I have it on Uplay now). A few other "AA Indie" type games like Divinity: OS and then a bunch of stuff that is just indie stuff but not bundleshit.

 
i have nothing on my wishlist.  God says ask and you will receive, but that shit wasn't working and last Steam sale looking at my wishlist just made me feel depressed and then Steam would email me a week later and be like "In case you forgot, these games on your wishlist were on shitty sale last week."

Technically, the Steam thread in the PC forum should be to discuss Steam (I think) the program/store and not specific deals? Who knows. I swore I made an OT thread at some point. Maybe I put it in the OT forum. Let me check.

I have to pick who I feel is the lesser of two evils on this one, unfortunately - i.e. Panthers.

In a sense, would be nice for Peyton who is a great QB to have another ring so he ain't over-shadowed by his not-as-great QB brother Eli that has 2 rings (both wins at SB over the Pats) - but meh, Peyton and Denver are still rivals to Pats.

So, meh - he can lose what probably will be his "last rodeo".

fuck Peyton. I hope its a good game for the sake of entertainment, but he went to UT and I don't give a shit about his legacy. Plus I was there 2 years ago when he got his ass kicked by Seattle at MetLife which was awesome.

Rooting for the Panthers b/c obviously. Going over to a buddys house and if the game is shit I may come home early and play games or w/e.

 
Panthers over Broncos 30-16.  I just don't see the Broncos winning this game.  They need a lot of things to go right. 

1.they need to get their pass rush going and beat Carolina O-line

2.pass rush needs to get to Cam

3.they need to take him out of the game one way or another.

The only other way the Broncos stand a chance at winning is if they make a couple of huge plays on offense and get at least a couple turnovers.  Not sure how the broncos could make it to at least ~24ish pts needed to win.

Peyton is a roided up sexual deviant anyway.  Man, my wife was away this weekend so I had plans to just become a total fatass gamer sitting in my chair playing all day, but I decided to go thirfting yesterday and then ended up buying a washer/dryer and fridge we had been needing and then the appliance store was all like "we'll deliver it in a few hours" and I was all like WTF?  So I had to run home and spend those hours rearranging the garage since we had stuff stacked to the ceiling blocking where the washer/dryer were supposed to go.  So here I am having gamed nothing all weekend.  Oh well.  Maybe the game will be good and if not I might just follow Bah's lead and game a little then.  

 
The lessons of history say that a great defense throttles a great offense. Thus, I dont think the Panthers will be scoring near their average of 32 points.  However, I'd also proffer that a very good defense will stymie a mediocre offence so I cant see Dever scoring much either.  My guess, Panthers 24, Broncos 13.  A few good defensive plays on both sides, but Carolina will score touchdowns while Dever settles for a couple of field goals.

I'm just hoping for a repeat of the last time the Panthers were in the super bowl and we get a halftime titty shot. (Beyonce would be just as good as Janet Jackson IMO.)
