This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.
See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.
For anybody who has played BO3, would it be worth it at that price for someone who mainly likes SP and the zombies? The COD games tend to be shitty on the SP and the zombie stuff can be cool, except usually you need to buy $100 of DLC to get the full experience.
Its not bad at all. BO3 IMO is the best COD since COD 4 (the first MW game). Single player is weird as story-wise, but once you beat the campaign (fairly long/good production value) a whole other campaign opens up that is basically a single player zombie experience. It uses the regular campaign mixes it up with diff dialogue and zombifies it. Its unique in that respect.
The standard zombie mode in the game is a bit weaksauce though. I dont really like the setting (its steampunkish) and the objectives are a bit confusing, but some people really like it.

I actually bought the physical copy from Amazon when it was around $24 since I had Amazon credit to use. The 6 DVDs for me installed 54 of the 57GBs. So... Amazon lies.

Nah, not wasting my data for that unfortunately. I have to decide whether I want to DL the division beta next week or just pay the $30 or so somewhere for it.

I'm almost regretting not jumping on The Division when it was $30 on CDKeys. Thought it'd be free with GFX card purchase by now, but doesn't seem to be the case.
Refurbished: Acer Veriton X4618G - Small Form Factor PC - Intel Quad Core i5 3.0GHz (2320) - 4GB RAM - 500GB HDD - DVDRW - Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit Installed - OEM
It's small form factor so IF it has a slot for a card, you are likely limited to low profile cards, but they make pretty good low profile cards.
I'm not sure if you can find the info re: mobo anywhere online to see if it would allow the addition of a card, but if it did, that's a pretty good starter system and some relatively inexpensive upgrades along the way (SSD, more RAM) would make it pretty decent.
Speaking of internet speeds(we are still doing that, right?), Time Warner recently installed lines in my neighborhood, and drilled through my sewer line to boot!
Finally decided to check what they have to offer. $65 for 30/5. Time Warner, please. Get out of here with that weak shit.
As I recall from my kid, Ghosts sorta sucked. Gameplay-wise, shortly after it came out a lot of players went back to the previous game (MW3? BO?) because the game play was better. I don't play COD myself so I can't give details, I just remember seeing him playing the old game and him saying "Yeah, no one really plays Ghosts any more. It's not as good and everyone already has their unlocks in this game so why bother playing it?"
So, you know, there's your second-hand review of a game by a 16 year old.
I did play the MP in Free Weekends...and I didn't really care for most of the maps. It's more or less, more CoD MP - but w/ maps that weren't too interesting. I liked the map w/ all the rocks, ruins, and greenery (Stonehaven), though.
I played the ghosts SP, up until the point where it crashes on the majority of nvidia cards which is about halfway-2/3 through the story. Nvidia did a driver update a while ago that broke the game and the only way to get past it is to downgrade your drivers

The integrated video card will probably not even be able to run Motoki's granny games.
Acer's website is complete garbage - you can't find a single tech sheet for their products up there. I wouldn't risk paying $200 for something you may not even be able to upgrade at all.

its so they can data cap your crapper. go over the limit and they back it up, so you either pay they for extra dumps or use the john at mcdonalds down the street.
Does anyone have any thoughts on Verdun? I know a lot of CAGs got it on a price glitch awhile back, curious if anyone has actually played it and thinks its decent?
EDIT - Since no one has mentioned bros for the day, would anyone show up for a BRONIGHT if I scheduled it for this?

For what it's worth, I'll be the dissenting voice on this one. I only ever play the COD games for single player (and occasionally zombies) and felt that this was the most disjointed feeling campaign in a while. I usually don't mind the mindless slog through the third-rate Tom Clancy wannabe stories as they are usually just compelling enough to keep me moving from Point A to Point B and on to the next set-piece moment.
I'm not sure if it was the way the story was presented or what, but it definitely didn't hook me. This is the first game in a while that I can remember playing through to conclusion because I was already half done and felt I should finish it because I spent more than $20 on it. I literally could not wait for it to be over. At least in AW,
Kevin Spacey played such a dick that I couldn't wait to plug him at the end.
BO3 had nothing to motivate me like that.
While I don't want to spoil anything here so won't go into detail, I also want to add that the ending of the SP campaign uses a trope that absolutely infuriates me and is, in my opinion, the absolute laziest thing a writer can do. So to add insult to injury, I forced myself through 3 more hours of a crappy campaign to get an ending I felt was lazy and contrived.
All of that, along with the fact that nothing about the gun play or game play mechanics felt all that fresh or interesting, led to my not even bothering to try Zombie mode. I finished the campaign, stared at my monitor for a few seconds, then uninstalled. Not worth the ~$25 I paid for it.
If you're really into Zombie mode or multiplayer, or just don't care if SP has a compelling story, you might be able to get your money's worth out of it. It plays ok and looks pretty nice. As a guy who plays solely for the campaign, I'd say skip it unless you really need to scratch that COD itch and none of the older titles will do the trick.
