Welcome to the Japanese niche games deals and discussion thread!  Feel free to talk about local and import Japanese games here.  Our goal is to maintain a thread dedicated to active deals on niche games including RPGs, Visual Novels (VN), Shoot'em ups (Shmups), Musou, etc.  Also maintained are pre-orders for standard, limited and collector's edition games with key release dates provided.

I've wikified the thread to make it more friendly and open to others that can actively update with important information. You can find the wiki post directly below this one.

NOTE:  Please, leave the censorship discussion away from this thread.  It's common for japanese games to have questionable content outside of the country.  We want to keep discussions to the game itself and not about cultural/societal tolerance.

You can basically friend any of our members, or any moderator, and you will be able to request to join the community under "Communities friends are in" tab, and a mod will approve your request.

You can also leave your PSN ID in the thread, saying you want to join, and we can invite you directly as well.

Supposedly they also twisted up something in Bravely Second that you were only supposed to be able to do in NG+ and screwed with the plot and choices or something something.

Also, it's Naotora Ii. That's two I's. No L's. Get it right you nerds.

They actually just announced the Trillion LE a few days ago, and that comes out in March I believe, so we still have a chance [emoji2]

I heard about this whole issue. Its hilariously stupid, and I feel bad for the company that made all those figures that can't sell.

Either way, I'm usually not a fan of these sort of statues but I'd buy this one in a heartbeat. AngeWomon/Angemon are awesome

 
I mentioned in the Sega survey that I don't care for their mobile stuff unless it is a Miku game or Valkyria Chronicles.  If they can make the production value of a mobile Miku game like the new JP Idolmaster game...Also said I only liked their older Sonic games.

As far as the Angewomon figure, it really sucks because now you have to pay double to 4 times the price.  All US and EU shops that were going to get it, got cancelled.  I basically had to pay almost double the price now.  :cry:

I think Saban is trying to re-launch the Digimon TV series though which is probably why this whole thing happened.  They had over half a year to make the decision about the figure, but didn't do anything until the figure finally got released.

 
I was on the fence about the whole Angewomon figure since I have cut back on my figure spending. But since Saban decided to pull the biggest dick move (cancelling the figures right before release, with all preorders being closed months ago), I've went through a middle man importer, and pay ~$125. It's more than I'd like but this figure is going to only skyrocket in price unless Saban decides otherwise.

 
So there was talk on that the change in Bravely Second goes even further than just cosmetic, 

here is what people have been seeing with the differences 

They removed all the non-neutral sidequest/Asterisk quest outcomes; any choices that would cause characters to die have been removed. Whatever choice you make now, you'll receive the neutral outcome where both sides make it out ok. The Japanese version had 4 different outcomes, with voiced cutscenes

 
Feels like they're trying to bait their biggest fans to join the other side.

"They're still not revolting removing Indians and putting in cowboys. We need to do something more drastic."

"We took out all ribbon scenes, and they're still happy!"

"We changed every costume and not even a ripple."

"We removed 1/4 o the game, and only 10 people defected!"

"We need to remove everything but the intro movie! Stat!"

That's gotta be a fucking joke. That is absolutely abhorrent. I mean, if this is true, it's absolutely boycott worthy. That is removing very significant content.

The article admits that their "source" is some random forum users who said it was different, and there's somebody in the comments claiming that it's false (I think, it's a little hard to tell with their broken English). Let's not go crazy here until there's solid proof.

This "localization" shit has got me fucking livid. I've been devoted to Nintendo, but they're out of their fucking minds if they think I'm going to be buying an NX when they take smelly, fucking shits all over their games before they release them in the west.

People make light of the censorship of mild sexual themes and then they start fucking with things that really matter.

There needs to be a reckoning, because these fuckwits are waaaay past the line.

Strange how neither source points out what exactly was removed beyond the already-discovered altered support conversation and petting minigame.

As much as I hate Nintendo and censorship, I think you guys should wait before getting the fire and pitchforks ready. That seems like a significant portion of the game would have been removed just to appeal to western gamers. Now if it is true, I call for a boycott of Nintendo and SE Crap. Maybe even start a few fires lol

The support conversation that was cut in FE Fates was between a former Child Soldier / Assassin and a Ninja asking about her history and she did. obviously it would get cut because the West typically gets their jimmies rustled for this sort of thing

From the way you said, you made it sound like the entire story was changed. It wasnt. It was just the Support Conversation regarding the Same Sex Characters and their sub plot. It was only changed here because that sub plot was in poor taste. (It involves the avatar giving the gay person something to make them not gay)

All that did article was reiterate what was cut.

Yes, I still want to see a detailed list on everything that was cut, especially since they mentioned erased characters. Do you know what they are referring to here?

 
What I find most hypocritical of all with this censorship issue is how selective the so called "Games Media" is to it.

Remove a few waifu features, edit costumes, dialogue options or petting games & not a peep from them...

Thought about but ultimately decided to not include the option to have a gay relationship in Todomachi Life

and it's on the front page of every "game journalists" site with interviews and follow ups being referenced as "hate speech"..
