PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

I've played bits and pieces of various RE games but never finished one.  Most I played of one is RE4 on Wii.  Made it to some cave/cemetery/ocean type place.  Only got one chapter of Revelations in.  Might go in on PS4 versions when cheap.  Especially if i can co-op stuff.

Tempting, do you know if there are any major features cut or performance issues on the last gen version?
Not personally, but aside from the obvious graphical downgrades and (maybe?) occasional framerate slowdown, I think the PS3 version is almost identical to the PS4 version. Note that you're forced to play some of the online FOB stuff at one point in the story, though that's against an AI opponent.

Finished and loved RE4 so much I went back and finished RE1 and RE2. Never did get to 3 although I have it for the Vita (PS1 Classic). RE5 was still enjoyable but not as good as 4. I haven't touched 6 yet. Revelations is probably the best 3DS game (as it's a great great game), finished it on there. I'm playing RE2 on Vita but I'm only through 2 chapters...I'll pick it back up at some point.

I know Cleaner mentioned wanting to co-op RE5 but I don't have a PS3 compatible mic. Seems like a waste of money to buy one just for PS3 at this point. Is it important to use a mic for RE5?
You do know that Golds work with PS4 and PS3 right? So getting those would not be a waste.

Playing any co-op game it is important to have a mic unless you want to play with RPG or Pete. Especially RE5 since the game is designed for coordinated co-op maneuvers for both combat and even just progression through the levels.

I loved RE4 on Wii, enjoyed RE5 (still need to go back for the other trophies someday), and thought RE6 was a pretty awesome action-shooter (aka terrible survival-horror).

Yeah, I know. I want a pair but I haven't gotten around to buying any yet. Maybe I'll be able to the next time a deal pops up.

I kinda want to get another set of Golds. I should just focus on my PS3 backlog instead, though--once I'm done knocking those out I won't have to swap the USB dongle back and forth anymore. I'm down to like ~100 PS3 games so it wouldn't take long, right?  :wall:

I need to get back to this. What I played was fun though the controls were a bit odd. It's too bad it doesn't work on PS TV--that would be a good one to play on it, I think.
You could just play the PS3 version.

EDIT: Nvm, forgot the Vita version was free.

Well now. Playstation Vue going nationwide:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/03/14/playstation-vue-goes-nationwide-starting-at-29-99-in-new-markets/

$35 a month with regional sports. I think I'm in, at least for the baseball season.

EDIT: wait... but in the new cities we don't get live ABC, FOX, NBC or CBS. Hmm. Though, "We’re working to add local broadcast stations to your city, which will add live, local programing to the channel lineup. "
I assumed this was coming. There was a commercial for the service during a show I was watching recently that was nation wide (I think it was SVP SC that was airing during the NCAA selection but not sure).

I could kiss you right now.

Gonna drop tv and do this and internet when we move, if not that great will go back to paying for tv, but gonna give this a legit shot.

I'm excited about Vue. I can get local channels good enough at my house that that's not an issue. This will be even better at my future apartment.

Ok, this is weird now. For "local" sports it looks like they are giving me YES and not MASN. WTF?

Hopefully that's just a mistake on the website.

PlayStation Vue sounds cool. If I still had cable I would probably cut the cord and get it. But with Hulu, Netflix, Munkyflix, and an antenna, I already have more content available to me than I could ever watch.

sweet, I'm in on psvue.  I just cancelled my tv service in prep for the move last week and that access slim package is all I'd want.  If I can pay with my psn wallet even better since the recent cavalcade of cheapo fun bucks.

Now I notice that it's not actually showing me a "slim" package on the website. So maybe it's just not updated right yet. Will check again another time.

Prices still going as 55 for the top tier, prolly just not updated yet.
If I start to go through the free trial, it shows me the $35 core price, but then when clicking to compare plans, it takes me to the $45 price and YES network, so yeah, probably it's just not updated yet, though you'd think if they put out that post they'd have gotten the website fully updated for it. Sony.

Note that it selects your local area based upon your IP when signing up, so if your work area is different from your home area, I'd only do the trial signup from home. The trial process showed my work location and there was a button to click to verify that is your area, but there is no, "no that is not my area" button.

I already get all the local channels over my antenna.

It'd be nice for all the kids networks (CN, Disney, Nick, etc). Having CNN and what not back would be nice. We've missed those since we cut cable. Not really sure if the $35 a month is worth it.

The fact that it's avalible on FireTV and I don't have to switch over to Playstation to use it is a huge selling point.

(Is it like Hulu where only the past 3 or 4 episodes are available? Or Netflix, where you can watch the whole season?)
