They sometimes give more since they don't know the exact math. Enjoy it.
If you bought it for $48 with GCU discount from $60, you should be getting $16 + tax back on it, down from the $32 GCU price from $40. If she's giving you a $26 credit, just shut up and enjoy it. ;)

Check the order information if you can, it'll show you what credit is being applied to the order, or look in your mailbox for an email confirmation about it.
Haha, I did the same math and knew something wasn't right, but I stood quiet. I checked my order online and at the moment, it says I paid $52 (after GCU and taxes) and was given $26 credits.

So it looks like I only paid $26, which I'm not complaining about. It actually works out great for me because I paid off my credit card for the full amount last week before placing an order for some Lego figures last night, so the difference will basically cover those costs. I'm jjust waiting to see what changes in terms of my BB points.

As long as you aren't buying that many copies at one time I don't understand why they care. I understand not wanting bulk buyers.
If you pay $30 for two years of GCU, as is, you and three people could split the cost and each get copies of the same game 20% off and all three can jointly receive point and trade bonuses. Also, pretty sure purchasing with the intention to trade or sell is frowned upon at the very least.

There's basically no reason one person should get more than one discount per game. We just like what we can do with the discounts.

Sometimes I will buy a game new release with the discount and trade it back in for close to what I paid and buy it later that year for around $20. Which makes me buy the same game twice in a year at least

Sure there is. You might be a parent buying 3DS games for your kids who want to play the same thing together. You might be someone buying gifts of games you already have. I bought my Forza 6 and my little brother's (a Christmas gift) on the same account, for example. Not everything we do is nefarious flippery.

Anyone get weird emails, supposedly from BB with strange order #s confirming you should have received iTunes gift cards?? :/ I never ordered that. Gotta check my account and call in.

Random question....if I pre-ordered a game with a bunch of certificates that were expiring (2-3 months ago), and I now cancel that pre-order, do I lose my certificates as well?

anyone keep track of console TIVs? BBY has Xbox One TIV right now at $180. i know GS is giving $200, but hardly shop there nowadays with GCU. has anyone seen higher before at BBY? thanks!

GS has a $40 bonus coupon for PUR members making it $240.

You don't have to trade in a controller at BB though.

At least that's what I've heard many times. I've never traded in a console to BB so can't speak with experience.
I could've swarn you needed one at best buy. The pictures on the website shows the ps4/xbone with their controllers and I remember not too long ago someone trying to make best buy do it without a ps4 controller and they wouldn't just for that reason.

I've never traded one in myself but I see it being ymmv on if you need a controller or not.

The one and only time I traded a console to best buy was when they were giving $303 for a specific model Xbox 360. I gave them everything at the same time but the lady informed me that I could keep the controller I wanted or she could trade it in seperately.

Last time I checked controllers were traded separately, thus the mass listings of cheap consoles with no remotes from time to time on cowboom. Unless there has been a new policy update?

I've read both. Some both got extra for their controller. Some couldn't get their trade-in honored without including a controller.

Is that so? No controller required? I wonder what type of tests they perform on the system.

Depends on the store. When my brother-in-law traded his 360, they required the controller. The CS guy said it varies by store, which I take to mean that BB doesn't require it, but some managers just throw in that rule on the basis of technicalities.

Picked up siege for xbox one. Had some trouble applying gcu in store, but i had the cashier void and try again. Worked the second time, just make sure to watch for the gcu discount before paying

Unless the BestBuy console tradein promotion says that a controller is required, it is Standard Operating Procedure to get full value on the console without a controller.

Bestbuy guest services should have a controller to Pair and use with your console. They should also have a monitor or tv to hookup the console.
It's pretty basic stuff.

Purchased Gears Ultimate, used a $5 Cert and paid $3.xX, not bad.

On the fence with God Of War and Tearaway, never played either but these will just sit in my backlog. I might pull the trigger before the week ends. Also debating on Syndicate....

I'm really starting to have a problem. I have zero time to play games, but I keep purchasing them.

Yep. I told myself to not hoard games when I got my Xbox One for Christmas. I now have about 20 games. Because of this site lol.
I was leaking into that area myself. I bought up games I couldn't play. I eventually just took them to Best Buy and gave up trying. I knew I didn't have time to commit to Fallout 4, so I'll wait for the DLC to be released in full. I knew I wasn't going to bother with Destiny, so I sold the DLC card and got the $3 from BB for the disc. I tried to play Battlefront, but never had playing partners (and there's no in-game chat to find them), so it went away as well. I got Forza 6 cheap at Meijer, but it never got out of the plastic, so I traded it as well (I think I spent $45 on Destiny and Forza and got $65 or so out of them).

My only remaining physical game is The Division, and it's in rotation with Neverwinter as the only XB1 game I play. I'll probably get MLB The Show next week, then Quantum Break after that, so I wasn't going to bother with repetitive, never-ending games like Destny and Forza.

Gamestop also giving $100 towards any PS3 or 360 if it is applied to an XBOX One.  Too bad Best Buy doesn't match that!

If I bought Plants vs Zombies GW2 Deluxe Edition at launch in store can I get a price adjustment over the phone/online or do I have to go into the store?

Nice, I can't resist the $9.99 for Gears Ultimate Edition. I am actually a big fan of remakes and HD upgrades, but I refuse to spend a lot of money of them. At most, I will spend $10-$20 and fortunately, all it takes is a bit of patience for the games to reach those price levels.

Due to lack of advertisement I forgot that Trackmania Turbo came out this week. I immediately impulse purchased it at work for in-store pick up and will be heading to Best Buy to pick up my copy, looks like a ton of fun.

I recommend trying the Demo of the game first, just so you aren't playing the game with no prior knowledge of it.

I must agree. I tried the beta because it looked cool. Then I realized I way playing a $40 phone game. It's just some 40-second time trials over and over again. I was pretty disappointed because Trials (which I don't really care for) does more for less. At first, I thought "I'd get this if it were $20," but the more I think about it, the more I think "ehh, maybe at $10."

Thanks for the heads up, but I have played previous Trackmania games and enjoyed them. The series has always been about building and playing the user created tracks, which is what is appealing to me, but I agree the game should have been $20 and not $40 and now I am second guessing my purchase decision even though I was able to get the game for $28.88 after a $5 rewards cert and GCU. I haven't picked it up yet so I could always cancel, but I'll probably go ahead and pick it up anyway.

Is it worth buying the ulitmate edition even if you have all 3 games thanks to backwards compability? Basically are the graphics and gameplay different between gow ue and the bc?

I'd say so. It has some extra campaign stuff (from the PC version), and you'll be on the XB1 servers for multiplayer, rather than the likely barren 360 version. The game got a massive, and complete, visual overhaul as well.

Phone game? There are some great phone games so I won't belittle mobile games. But this is far more than a "phone game" in scope. I wasn't excited about it being time trials only.

But the game has over 200 tracks and an extensive track editor. Local head to head multiplayer. Online multiplayer that you "race" against a ton of ghosts (I believe it's up to 100 other players, which is still pretty cool even if not real time).

That's a shitload of content. Not to mention that the included tracks are insane from a design standpoint.

If it were $60, I would say it may be a bit much. But for $32 after GCU, it is well worth it IMO.
