PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

Hypothetical update:

So I emailed the HR dude back about next steps and if he needed anything else from me, and he said the signed offer letter, and I said i never got one, then he said oops I'll send it now.

Then I got a forwarded copy of the one he tried to send yesterday right after our phone conversation and he missed the dot in the dot com of my email address, which is why I never got it.

TL;DR

I officially have a new job
Now maybe Cartwheel will work right.

Seriously though congrats.

Speaking of Fire TV. I tried Vue on my Fire TV Stick. It looks just like it does on the PS4, but the interface is SLOW. I pick to show the grid and it finally appears 4 or 5 seconds later. Maybe it would be better if it was a Fire TV instead of the Stick. It's not intolerable, though, and once the channel is playing it's fine.

And a new HR guy that isnt the sharpest tool in the shed.

Congrats though!
You would think they would have noticed the undeliverable message that likely came in almost immediately after hitting send.

But in the 10 years I have been here we have had two HR managers. Neither were very computer literate.

That's the new Vikings stadium. And that's on the other end of downtown. Try to keep up.

And mo better than being across the Street from Target Field, I'll be a block away from two local brewery taprooms!
Sorry, I just figured since the Vikings stadium has a road named after Chicago that the baseball team would have the same issue. You know what they say about ASS U ME ing!

You knew I was going to ask, you could have saved us all some time.

Which brewers?

My electric bill this month was $89.  It was $120-$125 the prior two or three months.

It was never below $150 when you know who lived there.

Random asshole: "Oh you were out of the office the other day when I sent you an email?"

ME: "Yeah, I had my out of office message on. Didnt you get it?"

Random asshole: "Yes?"

These new p series have a chrome, i mean google cast built right in.

Only thing I DONT like looking at them is the lack of tv tuner built in, would have to buy an external one to use OTA signal
The only casting I've done on my TV is through YouTube. It's nice to check out a video and then have it up on the TV in seconds. This was my 2nd Vizio TV and my last one is over 5 years old and still works great.

Do you guys still care about FF? Just an honest question not a douchey one. It just seems like Final Fantasy might need to have it's Final Fantasy at this point. I guess this one could re-invigorate the series if it's good, was the demo generally well received? I guess it doesn't help things that these games are taking an inordinate amount of time to be made.
While they may not be known for their original stories at least the games all play differently from one another. 10, 12, 13, and 15 all have different combat mechanics so it doesn't feel like they're just rehashing the same game every year or two.

Doesn't always happen immediately, sometimes I don't get bounce backs for half a day or so.

My TV has google cast built in too. Good shit. Most TVs dont have tuners either.
Most tvs have tuners that I know of, vizio tuner less tvs are newer according to vizio site.

Without a tuner you cant hook an OTA antenna to the TV and it work, need another box. Both my current tvs have a tuner built in. Both need an antenna for that part to work though, not sure of any currentish tvs that have an antenna built in.

My 7-year-old Sony 1080p doesn't have any wifi features or a built-in antenna. I'll probably get something new when we get a new house later this year. I don't really care about Chromecast built-in since that's not very useful. Wifi features in general seem kind of pointless for a TV since new devices come out pretty often and don't cost that much--even if a replacement had something built-in I'd probably use my Fire stick anyway, since that works great.

Built-in antenna would be nice, though. Right now I've got a flat paper-like antenna stuck to the wall.
You wouldnt want a built in antenna, reception would be shit.

Sounds like a mohu, best OTA antenna.

yeah i may have been thinking of the internal antenna, not the tuner. so sue me Kilik and Chewy!

For an invalidly formatted email address any modern system should bounce it back pretty quickly. There is certainly a delay in getting a non deliverable bounce back if the email address is correct but the mailserver that handles its mail isn't reachable. Most mail servers will try for a couple of days before giving up. I think our previous mail server would let you know after 4 hours it was having trouble but would keep trying.

I just tried to send an email address without a dot in it. Outlook popped up and wouldn't even let me send.

Anyway just glad he decided to follow up and it was a simple error.

I bet you're glad your lowly computer has a 5 1/4 disk drive too.

#old
I actually never used a computer with a 5 1/4 floppy drive. I did, though, when I was a kid, use computers at the local community college that used paper tape. And we played games on one computer there that didn't have a display, and so all its output was printed (most of the computers there were like that - they did have one computer with a vector graphics display, though). The ski racing game wasted a mountain of paper. It was amazing.

I have a chromecast from the day they launched, ordered one when announced since it came with 3 months netlix free that tacked onto a current account even, so paid like 10 bucks for it day one.

Chromecast is tits a poppin, so easy to just cast youtube, netflix, vudu, etc to your tv. most newer tvs will have auto switching and will auto switch to the hdmi port the chromecast is on.

sounds like the built in works just as well as the not built in. Plus with the built in tv one that it would actually work over cable vs having to use wifi, which would be cool. Always go for wired if I have the option.

This is fucking hilarious

Dude on the Astros hit a ball that rolled to the wall and under the raised padding.  Ball was easily grabbed and playable.  But Yoenis Cespedes throws his hands up and tries to get it called unplayable for a ground rule double.  Meanwhile the batter kept running the bases for an inside the park homerun.

Ump comes out after and is all

I suppose...my bad

Fulton (love their Lonely Blonde and Sweet Child of Vine IPA)

http://www.fultonbeer.com/

and Modest Brewing (not actually open yet, but soon apparently)

Sweet Child of Vine would be a great reference. It is actually incorrect though. It should have been Bine instead of Vine, but then nobody would like it.

I would not even know that, but a guy I know owns a liquor store in San Diego called "Bine & Vine" and I had to look up wtf a bine was.

I have seen outfielders try this before. There has to be a ground rule about it and from the looks of it that fence doesnt have a deep area under there so the umps were right in not calling it dead. I imagine that dude was just being fat and lazy cause its still spring training right?

Thanks for killing the illusion man. I thought that name was one of the more cleaver beer names I've heard.

I used to play games off a cassette tape too, but we had a monitor. We had to mark in a notebook where on the tape counter the game was so we could queue it up before hand.

Working in a mattress store must be one of the most depressing jobs. Just one guy sitting in the store by himself, parking lot empty. He's lucky to see one or two customers a day. People are really only there to comparison shop, probably only a few sales per week.

The Mets got screwed on a BS call like this in the playoffs. Same type of thing except they were team at bat and the other team (Cubs) were in the field. It is went into the Ivy and the player just threw his hands up. Runner at 1st would have scored but was a ground rule double. Shitty fielder missed the ball. Anyway it is preseason and no one gives a shit.

Almost as lame as those floppers in Soccer who fall down for no reason. You should be able to stomp on them when they do that shit. Get the fuck up and play.

Yeah that play is equally bullshit. Dude didn't even try to retrieve it. Also it's the Cubs benefitting so it's worse cause fuck the Cubs.

My husbands coworkers apparently heard my phone conversation with him where I told him I left work early cause I feel sick and apparently his office now thinks I'm pregnant....... #girlproblems
