PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

UK link about a rumor that Microsoft may be looking into some kind of digital trade in program

http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2016-03/21/microsoft-considering-xbox-one-digital-trade-ins
Yeah, they sent out a survey asking if you would trade in old digital games that you don't play anymore for 10% of their original purchase price.

A lot of people were saying 10% is way too low, but it's really just a show of good faith from Microsoft. It's not like something is actually being traded to Microsoft that they can try and resell.

Yo Zimm (and others who may be interested),

Just noticed that MLB special edition for PS4 is back up for preorder at Best Buy. I got the baseball itch again so I put in a preorder for it this morning.

Cool more people to play against. I already have a pre-order for the MVP edition in at Amazon. Taking full advantage of that Prime trial. Can't wait to fire it up Tuesday night.

How much did you pay for yours? I found one guy asking for $10 for the code.

Also, the Golden Guns apply to all three games, right? That same guy says the golden guns are only for Drake's Fortune.
Far as i know it was one code that was for all 3 games.

10 aint bad actually, but really you dont need them if you dont mind doing two playthroughs, just do one hard and then one brutal and use a tweak exploit to turn on infinite ammo and one shot kills.

You can do that for Brutal? That was the only reason I was considering the golden guns.

PST.org I thought said that only worked for the first game and it was patched on the others.

Tales of Hearts just goes on and on and on and on and on and on.

Can't we just fight the end boss already? Do we need all these side trips?

(Oh look, we're on a dead, calcified world. Nothing alive here. Nope, everyone turned to stone. Oh wait, random enemy encounters of course, and more dungeons)

Friend just hit me up to see Umphreys McGee tonight at The Wiltern. Heres a cover of Pink Floyds "Shine on You Crazy Diamond". Their covers are usually great and the crowd shots in this video show how massive Red Rocks Amp is for live music.

Been playing Unepic, it's been out on Xbox for a while and comes out on PS4 and Tuesday. Pretty cool so far. Good action/exploration RPG. Has some lite Metroidvania features as well. The combat is a bit basic but it's fun and addictive to keep exploring deeper into the castle.

Finally got the Dark Souls plat after 100 hours. I can see why some people consider it the best of the Souls games.

I'll play a shorter game (AT: Finn & Jake Investigations) before firing up Dark Souls II on PS4.

I was browsing a buy/sell group on Facebook and accidentally clicked and sent some chick a friend request. She accepted right away, but then I deleted her immediately. She looked good enough, but she must be messed in the head if she's accepting random friend requests.

Apparently there's unique dialogue at the end of Fallout 4's Automatron DLC if you wear the Silver Shroud costume:

Honestly the hardest parts of Brutal for me in the first two games have been the parts of the game where you're not fighting.  In the first game, the jeep chase sequence is worthy of breaking a controller.  And in the second game the part where you have to escort a dude through the streets you just have to pray you get lucky and don't get shot as you make a mad dash to a doorway.

And ammo's not really a problem once you realize how ammo works.  Never pick up ammo for your current weapon - instead, drop it to pick up a similar type weapon, then pick up the new weapon, then pick up your old weapon.  So drop your MP4 to pick up a shotgun, then pick up the new MP4 drop, then your old MP4.  You'll get like 60 ammo instead of 3.

she can make mistakes like you right? Your both only human.

I'm giving them some money tonight.  Hell, why not, it can't be worse than Superman 4 or Batman and Robin, right?

I've played 1, 2, Revelations, and 3 and this was definitely the worst of the bunch. The main character is not well developed. There is a brief scene as a child and suddenly it jumps forward to adulthood where some boring plot points happen, and then the game ends. I encountered several glitches, including that above air swimming glitch at least 3 times which requires exiting out of the game to get unstuck. That's a pain in the Bayou as the deep water and unclimbable obstacles all over the place makes it take quite awhile to back to where you were.

The persona system is a decent idea, allowing you to dress in 3 different outfits (lady, slave, and assassin) with various capabilities. I was hoping this would lead to some Hitman-like different choices to tackle objectives, but mainly you end up switching to the 1 persona that the game requires you to take in order to advance. It is also used to artificially extend the length of the game as there are certain collectibles which can only be grabbed by certain persona's, that's on top of the normal required collectibles that can be acquired by 2 of the 3 persona's,

The game also had a bad habit of divvying out new collectible types every sequence, so you might do a full sweep of an area getting everything, finish the sequence, and now the world has been populated by a new type requiring another canvas of the area. You are almost better off just completely ignoring collectibles until the end of the game to minimize backtracking.

There isn't any out of animus stuff in Liberation, just a brief mention at the beginning that Abstergo have turned the life of the main character into an animus game that you can play. Occasionally you encounter a hacker called Citizen E who has scrambled history or something, you have to hunt him down and kill him 6 times to see what "really" happened in certain cutscenes. It's execution is completely half-baked and in the end doesn't amount to much. None of the revelations are huge or that interesting.

I had hoped that it would be like Infamous: Festival of Blood, a shorter adventure with a little different flavor due to the persona mechanics. Though it's mainly a shorter campaign with about 80% of the collectibles/side quests of a normal AC game, so a larger % of your completion time is spent doing side mission stuff.

I'm not planning on playing any of the Uncharted games on brutal.

I checked my Uncharted 3 trophies because I couldn't remember if I got the PS3 plat or not. I did, and because of DLC trophies I only have a 51% completion. So dumb.

That adventure time game is pretty dumb. It's a point and click adventure game. The one for the Vita however is pretty good. It's basically a Link to the past clone, fyi.

Yeah, I think there are more UC3 DLC trophies than there are in the main game. There's a ton of it, and it's pretty ridiculous. It took me and my friends about two and a half months of pretty regular play to complete it.

Yeah, I know what to expect and I plan on using a plat walkthrough for it thanks to the highly-missable trophies. I only have it thanks to my library.

I have Nameless Kingdom on PS3 to play eventually.

100 hours to plat Dark Souls? Did you take the scenic routes or leave your game on overnight a couple times?
My first playthrough took a reaaaaaaaly long time because I went really slowly through each area (so I guess I did take the scenic routes), and there were a handful of bosses that took a while to finally beat (e.g., Ornstein + Smough on NG, Bed of Chaos because of stupid jump physics).

Wrapped up the newest season of South Park. Good stuff, maybe not as funny as their past stuff but pretty clever and interesting. PC Principal is great.
