Playstation vr Not live yet

It would be crazy for Sony to release an upgraded version of the PS4 right now. Hardware revisions where a system gets smaller, adds usbs, or Wi-Fi is one thing, but putting out a new sku with different benchmarks is a real easy way to alienate your early adopters
we will find out, for all the talk that is going on and sony not denying it, something is up. i am hoping that it is just a revision adding a 4k blu ray drive. another rumor is that it will have slightly more processing power but nothing that will make newer games not work with the old.

I'd swap mine out in a heart beat for a 4k bluray version.

my excitement for this has been tempered by the rumors that for the best experience playstation 4.5 (or 4K or whatever the fuck they are callling it) will be required.
If you have a ps4 already you can enjoy it on there and if you decide to upgrade later then you can. Not like it wont work on a ps4 now.

Besides thats rumors. ps4.5 wont be an all new experience, I think its mainly aimed at bringing 4k gaming to consoles. Even then it wont be true 4k, probably be more like what up scaling does for dvds, it helps but doesnt make it like a whole new experience. We wont see a true 4k console till the next generation.

It will probablly be like a pc in the sense that you can run any pc game, but if you have a more powerful gpu you can bump up the graphics options a little. Im guessing it will be something like that since sony would commit suicide financially if they cut out the 30+ current ps4 owners from being able to play games. Then they would probably phase out the current ps4 to make the transition seamless as possible.

Ordered the core at BB (now have a pre-order for each.  Now I'll have to decide which to keep hen we get closer to the release date.  We have two PS4s and one camera in my house, but no move controllers.  I'll have to see how much two move controllers and the PlayStation Worlds disc cost aside from the bundle.  Glad I'll have each option.

Got one at amazon and one at best buy with bb card for the 12month no interest.  Just incase I don't have the $400 in october.

Ordered Core from Amazon. Wanted to order from BB since I thought I have a movers coupon, but I think I left it at home somewhere and I am at work. So Amazon it is, since I also have $10 in leftover gift card balance.

I now have the bundle and the core preordered through Amazon. I already have 2 move controllers as well as the camera so it seems like a no brainer for me to cancel my bundle.

Have the launch bundle preordered at newegg for $505

Preordered the core version at amazon for $435.

Gonna see if i can grab the camera and move controllers for $70 between now and October.

Much rather piece meal the combo bundle to save $70 on release. Plus i trust amazon more for returns/issues + Prime.

but it will be limited since, the fact you have to buy a whole new console to enjoy the vr is crap, looking at spending more than a thousand, i am more hopeful that the xbox one will sell a separate add on like its rumored to enjoy a more acurate oculus

If I'm moving between now and October, will updating my shipping info affect my pre-order status? I've heard this is true with some retailers.

wat?

The XO is even futher away from pushing VR. Plan on spending at least the same for a stripped down OR and XO+.

I do not think so. I remember having my CC expire during a pre-order period and I was able to change payment without issues, I would think they'll let you change shipping locations too

Also from what I understand about the X1 VR experience is that you'll be able to hook up a Rift to your PC, stream your X1 games to your windows 10 PC then use the VR that way, which seems like its not ideal for something based on low latency. PS VR is a good jumping in point, but if you've got money to spare and want the best experience you'd build a new PC, get a Rift or Vive, and a Virtuix Omni. But that's likely to cost like $2500 total.

But that $70 is also not taking into account the game (if that matters to you).

So far it looks like the majority of places still have the bundle in stock and the core didn't sell out fast. Have a feeling these won't be hard to find at launch.

Yea i was thinking about that.

Im gonna wait for a retail price for the game, if it ends up being $40+, then ill just keep the launch bundle.

Im just giving myself options to see which route i want to take, atleast i have until October to make/manage my decision.

Not sure if this was discussed....BUT when pre-ordering on BB.com do you have to put down the full amount? I know that when pre-ordering at the actual store, you can just make a $10 or so payment. Thanx in advance!

Temporary authorization for the full amount that falls off after a couple of days. Then it recharges at shipping

i preordered successfully at amazon.     what are the main pros/cons of this vs. oculus rift?    I should look into rift as well.

Pros:

Makes you look like a member of Daft Punk

Tied to playstation so hardware already purchased for many people

Cons:

Makes you look like a member of Daft Punk

Tied to playstation so limitations based on that hardware

Wondering why the ones sold out fast at amazon and others.. but Best buy has had the launch bundle pre-order up since last week weird

they must have a billion VRs

Amazon is really the only one that sold out. Best Buy, GameStop, Wal-Mart, and Target still have it in stock. Amazon is the flippers paradise due to drop shipping and no charge until shipping. That's why it sold out there.

That and amazon does a much better job knowing there allotments, Too many times at BB and target have they over sold and had to cancel pre orders.
