Ancient Space called and it said, "I need to have tons of DLC and be on sale 100 million times" :D/
Well it was in an Indie Gala bundle so close enough.

If you're going to use an example to shoot down my assertion about Paradox then you can pick a better one than that like Pillars of Eternity or Cities Skylines.

hahaha not really. I just want to try Ancient Space but it's an odd ball out that didn't really follow Paradox pattern of "dlc and sale whoring".

Don't really get the hype for Pillars of Eternity or Baldur's Gate for that matter

Cities is nice though. Better than EA Sim City

my first forray into RPG was Final Fantasy VII.

Before that, I only play strategy games.. and chess in real life.

So didn't really know what's the hype is for cRPG.

The hype was all about D&D being translated into a video game world. Baldur's Gate was a landmark achievement in that respect, back in 1998.

It's kind of held in the same regard as Dragon Warrior or the first Final Fantasy on NES.  I believe it was also the first voiced d&d crpg.  It was very immersive for its time.  Today, people want to re-live that nostalgia with PoE and D:OS.

Nostalgia aside the old infinity engine games are just good games. I played both Baldurs Gates and Planescape for the first time in the past few years and thought they were great.

Your opinion doesn't count. You're a hipster. You're supposed to like old ass outdated shit.

Pillars of Eternity (Obsidian) and Cities Skylines (Colossal Order) weren't actually developed by Paradox anyway, though. Paradox just did publishing and distribution. Stellaris is a Paradox project through and through.

Which, thermos collecting aside, is sort of a third person bullet time shooter.
not really. i mean its third person shooter but it's in no way bullet time. the closest you get to bullet time is the flare gun but it's really not that similar

besides you can't just say "thermos collecting aside" when discussing a thermos collection simulator

The reason those nerdass games were popular was because derpgeons and derpgons nerds could finally be full on nerds in the privacy of their own home without having to interact with any real people.

Cities does fit the DLC thing, though Paradox Studio games usually have just a few needed DLC and the rest either image/song packs or add something only a small niche (of Paradox's small niche) would need/want. Cities: Skylines DLC so far has been nightlife and snow....

To be fair everyone got the cosmetic features in both of those and if you chose to buy the DLC you got the features that actually affected gameplay. That being said I hope we get a proper expansion.

Probably not the eighth question to ask here.

But, have any of y'all ever been to DreamHack? Debating on if it's worth it to go on May6-8 when it's here in Austin.

It's bullet time in the sense that the action slows many times especially when you're whipping out your flash light or score a couple of hits with your revolver/shotgun. It is definitely not a fast paced game action-wise.

So maybe it's not 'bullet-time' in the sense Max Payne has bullet-time but slo-mo or whatever you want to call it is prominently featured.

Yea I can definitely confirm that Quantum Break ain't even in the same league as Max Payne or Alan Wake but it does got Lance Reddick in it(The Wire, The Guest, John Wick) so at least I get to post this gif expressing my disappointment in QB.

Well, the difference there would be that Cities Skylines doesn't have forty song packs or icon skins or whatever other goofiness. Sure, it has a couple DLC -- most games do. Having two DLC doesn't make people play the "lol Paradox" card. Talk to us when it has 20+ DLC.

Also, the Amplitude bundle still isn't fixed. wtfstopsucking, Valve.

It's the weekend. As it is, they barely work on the weekdays when they actually are in the office.

When it's Valve we're talking about you need to have [lowered expectations]
This bundle fits the Motoki lowered Steam expectations model of "It's actually a good sale if you just bought a computer and don't own any of the games... especially Endless Space" :p

I said if you don't have it not that you should pay for it again if you do. That's just Valve incompetence. I just don't expect it to get fixed soon.

Or ever.

Dat's what I said!

I hope they fix it. Sorta. Actually, I had forgotten about it since Friday so it's not as though it's a big deal to me but I would buy it if it was 75% off. I actually bought one DLC before realizing about the bundle -- I should demand a refund on it since I overpaid by 11¢

It has a couple overpriced DLC adding very little (I bought After Dark soon after it came out, hardly been impressed. Snowfall seems to be in the same vein). At least the "premium priced," DLC Paradox Studios' does usually adds some nice features, Anyways, the whole "lol, paradox." because it has 20+ DLC is silly, most of the DLC is crap for niche weirdos and like 6-7 are potentially worth owning (with like 1-3 being must haves).

But don't tell motoki it was free before!

Speaking of free games:

17.01 - M̱̱᷉i̱̱͚̱̚s̱̞̱ṯ̱̓e̱͏̱ṟ̫̱Glitch: » New Gleam Reward by REXGAS: 10000 x free steam key for Adorables! - 14 of 14 actions required - Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/366760/ - https://gleam.io/ImIC8/free-steam-keys-adorabless - Source: http://redd.it/4easye
I did it without checking because I missed the last one that I didn't have then after 14 actions (thankfully with the plugin and my ass is not banned yet) I had the damned thing already.

YCAG says "hi everyone!"  He said* this as I was looting a high end light machine gun off his dead corpse in the Dark Zone last night...

* Not really.  He has no mic.

In two weeks I might have $7ish in card money.  Maybe.  I also think Steam maxes out with 100 confirmations at a time as there are six listings in limbo for which I never received a confirmation email.  I also turned Steam mobile guard back on only because I realized if Steam keeps doing those expiring summer and winter sale cards then they will go away well before the two week hold so might as well be able to list them right away.  God, I don't know what else they can do to make card idling and listing more annoying, but I'm sure the bright minds at Valve will find a way.
