I was not into TF2, but I really like this game.  I honestly don't give two shits about the objectives though, and I wish there was just a deathmatch feature :(

I love Overwatch but I may hold out for a price drop assuming the community is still active. I have very limited time for gaming right now unfortunately. Maybe it will be $30 before GCU by Black Friday?

Im doubtful it'll get that low that quick. This is a blizzard game which usually take a while to drop and on top of that this one's got such hype and already has such support that I don't think it's going to get a nice price drop for quite a while. It's possible but I still don't think it'll be that low that quick. As far as the community goes I don't think this game will ever die honestly.

If you're into getting it in the near future pre-ordering is probably your best bet since you get the $10 cert. That can knock the price down the $37 or whatever (if you consider a $10 reward as money off) which is pretty damn good for launch day

It will never die on PC. It is a fair concern on consoles tho. This is the first time Blizzard has ever released a game on the same day for both PC and console.

With how much post launch support blizzard gives to their games, I have no doubt that this game will remain relevant for years to come. It's likely that they will support this game with expansions for a long time as opposed to releasing a sequel. I'm usually skeptical about these online only games but this is the one exception.

And while they did a good job supporting D3 on consoles with patches the PC version has gotten far more content updates than console and continues to roll on with it's seasonal mode. Though this is likely built from the ground up for console insteadof being adapted later and likely will be easier for them to support. I doubt it will be as dead and left to rot as the PC ports of Valve's shooters though.

I'm trying to talk myself into waiting, but I want the Tracer for Heroes (refuse to buy her in-game when I know I can get her with patience and OW) and the Winston WoW pet when I go back for Legion. I can definitely see it being $30 for Black Friday for consoles, I don't know how well stocked PC will be after the initial run even though it will likely have a much larger playerbase on PC. (I'm buying the PC version, control isn't good enough for me on console and I can run at least 60fps on high settings on my middling rig)

I really can't decide if I should get Overwatch or not.  I'm kind of stuck between this is fun and this is not fun enough for MSRP.  If it gets a fraction of the time TF2 got then it would be well beyond worth it but I can't remember the last time I bought a game day one and it actually got enough play before the inevitable sale to have justified it.

Also would have to decide PC or PS4.

This one could be the first, but blizzard games usually don't drop in price all that quickly.

Went ahead and got my empty Battlefield box ordered.  Would have probably bought Mirror's Edge if it had the $10 cert.

Still on the fence about Doom.  MP Beta didn't do anything for me and after all the issues with the id Tech 5 engine I'm not convinced the new one will run any better on PC.  I would love to be wrong, though.

Listen to CAGcast much? He moved back awhile ago. =P~

Would I get 1 or 2 $10 gift certificates if I bought Overwatch Origin Edition on PS4 and the Collector's Edition on PC?

Definitely getting overwatch now. Even after GCU it was hard for me to decide, but the $10 bonus puts me over the top.

Put in about 1100 hours into TF2 before it turned into a hat collecting furry magnet, and the beta really gave me those classic feelings.

Got my coin today... Was hoping I'd get the game as well, so my crappy internet would have time to download the day 1 patch.
picked up game at lunch got home and ups brought me my coin, needed a whole big truck for that little thing, funny. The coin is pretty cool though!

I feel like I should know better... someone please talk me out of pre-ordering Doom gold.  Doom was such an epic part of my childhood I'm excited to see it re-envisioned but with no reviews and an odd multiplayer focus it's bound to be a dud, right?

Yes, it's a dud. Save your money or wait for a sale. You won't miss anything by not having it on day one. You can read reviews and watch gameplay afterwards to see if it changes your mind.

I played the alpha, closed beta, open beta -- nothing really spectacular about it. I definitely do not see this as a day one game.

Don't let childhood memories dictate your buying decisions. The people who made your favorite games are not the exact same people making the new ones. Plus, you've changed over the years so what was once amazing (like Fruit Loops and other sugary cereals) may not be something you like now.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but I figured it belonged here. I just went to check out the game page for Homefront the Revolution that comes out on Tuesday and noticed it has a $10 GC for free with it. Added it to my cart and everything looked good. I know its not the $10 certificate but I've seen games that come with the free $10 GC be listed here before. Sorry if this is well know haven't kept up with this thread as much as I used to. (Just on the regular edition not collector's btw)

Nice, thanks for pointing that out. Also comes with a Steelbook.

I haven't been hearing any talk about Homefront. I know it had a beta but I'm not sure how it was received. It will be available at Redbox so I'll rent it for a weekend since I partially enjoyed the first entry.

Very nice, I want the digital version but this is a better deal.

I tried to use a $20 RZ cert but it won't process the order since it contains a gift card wtf. Can I place the order in-store and still get the GC? I know they'll accept my cert there.

Really!? I've been considering pre-ordering it because it looks like a nice blend between Far Cry/The Division and Fallout in terms of the environments and weapon customization, but I haven't heard anyone talk about it, so I'm kinda expecting it to be trash. But if my points clear by the weekend, I will definitely get it for $10 off, and an additional $10 cert.

I googled some reviews of the beta for you because these are entertaining AND super accurate, representative of what I felt having played the closed and open betas:

  • This is probably the worst game I have ever seen on the Xbox one. I don’t know what the devs were thinking, but this game is absolute trash. The graphics look straight out of 2006, there is screen tearing literally everywhere, shadows are s*itty, animations too, the enemy’s spawn literally in the middle of your field of view, when they die they spin around and flail like physics from 1995 tomb raider. These things can not be improved, while also increasing performance.
  • Yeah…it seems to run at under 30 FPS, the controls are VERY clunky, and everything in motion stutters around. Even for a BETA this is despicable.
  • I thought I was alone in this opinion, but I also thought “There’s absolutely no way that it’s even relatively possible that I’m the only one who finds this to be a complete and utter disappointment”. Glad to know I’m not crazy, but very sad that the game is actually THAT bad for everyone else, too. People I played with in the beta were like “Wow this game is great” and I’m sitting there confused as hell. This “beta” literally 100% feels like a pre-alpha build of a low-budget FPS.
  • Everything is wrong, from sound design to weapon proportion (marksman rifle looks like an anti tank rifle) Graphics. Wow. Don’t need to comment on that. You all know. AI ? Complete trash, they’re confused like they were just born 10 minutes ago. No situational awareness and just run around guns blazing like morons. I mean, someone shoots a weapon next to me, sounds like he’s 200 feet away. The enemy barely cares about cover.
  • After finally getting into a game, it was quickly realised why not al ot of people are playing. The gameplay is bad and simplistic and just overall I don’t see this game being played much after release.
    (source)

The developer obviously defended the beta saying it was an old build. As anyone who has ever played any recent beta can tell you, not much will change between the beta and the final game. I know this is my second negative comment in this thread today, but I am not being a negative nancy. If games were like stocks, I would short all my money on this game.

Thanks! $41.95 for game & steelbook on launch. Also a good chance that it will have a sale during my return period (30 days for me), so a chance to get some money back. Yea count me in.

I don't care about the MPVS, I'm buying for the single player that's supposedly 30 hours long and the online coop mode.

Infinite Warfare was added to the page. Looks like the Legacy Edition includes it too for those who just want Modern Warfare Remastered.

Man BBY still kicking ass. I know the promo slowed down and I am not happy but I understand it and am not upset about it. But they keep adding games on top of the 20%...Good for them, better for us.

Homefront is the new duke nukem forever IMO its going to get like a 30-40 meta range IMO. The game is just a mess and went through multiple studios.

I preorder UC4 but was only able to pick it up/fullly pay today. Does this mean they'll send me my coin or is the promo over and to late for me to get a coin??
