PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

Gone home is a nice little story with a splash of 90's nostalgia. And it's short. You guys should check it out.

so 11 days for the challenges.

I got all trophies except the challenges done in two days. Then the challenges took the rest of the time.

It's crazy how completely different they are compared to the main game. Jumping right into just the first challenge took a lot of getting used to. You watch videos and learn skills and tricks that have no purpose in the main game on hard or below. It basically felt like I had started a completely different game.

I ended up liking dungeons 2 more towards the end. Turns out my skirmish battle was a complete failure because demons are a terribly weak race until their tier 3 forms. Which also made one of the last battles extremely long. The later battles were pushing the 2 hour mark, and I think at least 2 of them nearly hit 3. I do tend to go a little overboard with my preparations in these games though. I had one crash through the whole campaign. Skirmish I had more issues on. A fair bit of slowdown, game freezing up for 5-10 seconds if I tried to build a big room all at once, and 3 or 4 crashes. It does let you save midbattle, which is nice, and it even has an option to set the autosave gap(default is every 30 minutes). It did feel a little unsatisfying to do all that prep, and not really have a ton of action. Waves that came to your dungeon were spaced 3-6 minutes apart. Which doesn't make sense with traps being the main gimmick of the game. Overworld had a few random mobs, and then most camps had one wave to work through. Only the last mission had enough at the end of it to where I had to regroup a couple times. Never tried mp, but it sounds horrible. Basically, everyone traps out their dungeons, and tries to run everyone else out of gold.

I would love to see how you can explain this one.
Tropheez!!!!!

But really, there are a few reasons. The games are upscaled a bit, they certainly look better than they would if you played them on PS2. The 360 games are going to look the same, and some end up performing worse due to the emulation. New trophy support is actually cool, all the 360 backwards compatible games don't get any new achievements, just the ones they've always had.

I've always said "who the hell cares" about backwards compatibility. My PS3 is hooked up right next to my PS4 and its going to stay there for the foreseeable future. So BC wouldn't really do anything for me anyway. Whereas my PS2 has been put away in a drawer for a long time, and I've have to fish out some dumb AV cables to play them. Plus some of the games being ported are starting to get costly on the used markets. PS2 games also have the advantage of people longing to play them more just because they're one generation older. Sony has done a great job giving us PS2 games that never got PS3 remasters too, focusing on games from that generation that people do really want to play.

The pricing model sucks compared to the X1's free backwards compatibility, no doubt about that. But again, if you already own the 360 games, why the hell don't you play them on your HD ready Xbox 360? The improved PS2 games are just way cooler.

USA smashed Costa Rica! I only watched the first half, saw 3 of the 4 goals. Beating them like that, all they should need is a draw from Paraguay to move on to the next round.

There is a difficulty level that is higher than is required to obtain the platinum (God Hard), I imagine some of the skills earned through the challenges are for that. 11 days to do all the challenges sounds about right, it was 9 days just for challenge 6 for me.

Playing an exhibition game of NBA2k16 while it copies the game (which is dumb because I just downloaded and installed it, shouldn't it already be copied?), and while playing the T'Wolves I noticed they still have Flip Saunders patrolling the sidelines. It's a little creepy.

Amazon put that Adult Swim PS4 game collection back up.  It no longer has the double discount though but I guess Adult Swim was wrong.

What are talking about? But yes, it was all my doing!
Another Brewer pitcher (Zach Davies) took a no hitter into the 7th and lost it on a homerun. I figured it was you because of all your bullshit a few weeks ago and former Oriole.

You can't blame me. I was playing pinball (badly, though, except The Walking Dead)

Considering you could buy Mirror's Edge on release for $48 from Best Buy, Amazon, and Fry's, it seems less like a sale and more a realization that there is no reason to buy a new game from Target unless they're willing to do these sales.

Although, technically, with a Red card you could get MEC for $47.50 from Target next week. So....Target wins?

Someone check on Mild. I need to know he didn't do anything drastic after finding out someone else got the easy Vanquish plat.
I knew stotch would get it, he's persistent which seems to be the most important thing. He didn't mention how much his hands were shaking so I am starting to wonder a little about the validity of his claim.

Pretty sure he got it a while ago. He just had to wait a couple of days for his hands to calm down so he could post.

Yea since colombia won, they just need to not lose the last match. Had colombia lost, would have basically had to win the last one.

Ospina for colombia was a stud in their game last night, dude made 3-4 world class saves. The only goal paraguay got was on a wonder strike to the top 90 that MAYBE courtois, neuer, or cech coulda stopped.

Im still not entirely sure how colombia is ranked 3rd in the world right now, they just dont look all that great.

Speaking of hand shaking, did anyone mention that Nathan Drake and his buddy's hands were shaking searching for that treasure?  It was during the chapter where they were on the boat looking for you know what.

I literally laughed out loud when I heard one of them ask the other if his hands were shaking.  I just imagined it was me asking Vig.  Although being on a deserted island in the middle of the ocean with Vig...shudder.

Classic max payne music is kick ass.

In other news my eyes are bleeding from the camera and shitty first gen ps2 graphics.

Great quotes though
Yeah I enjoy the over the top "noir?" writing, acting and comic books style cut scenes. I am almost done with Part 1 of 3 but I am pretty sure I am going to use the level cheat to just go to the end and not play every single chapter. These games just dont hold up. I just wanted to play it a bit and check it out. I think this will be enough.

Love the trophy card though. That look on that face on that square head is priceless.

Mild posted the screenshot from it a while back.

KH 2.8 releases in December.  Looks good.  Birth By Sleep 0.2 footage and gameplay look amazing.

*shudder* is right.

He's got Max Payne from that loaf he's trying to pinch off in that trophy card right?

I forget who brought up real-life exploration/climbing stuff a week or two back, but here's another "real-life Drake" video.

You ask yourself how much more black could that Injustice 2 trailer be and the answer is none...none more black.

I mean jesus turn on a light.

Like 3/4 of the video was transforming costumes. So exciting!

Just watched the KH HD 2.8 video. Looks good. I really need to start on the PS3 games.

So what exactly is 2.8? Is it 2 remastered plus all the mini sequels and side games from the 3DS in movie form? Or just the sequels and side games? Or something else? Or would it kill them to just use whole numbers?

It's the 3DS game remastered (Dream Drop Distance) + cutscene-movie (Chi: Back Cover) + some new thing (0.2 Birth By Sleep: A Fragmentary Passage) that's supposed to lead into KH3.

Also curious. Still haven't played any of these games and I might check it out if they put the first 2 on PS4. My impression was that this 2.8 (stupidest name ever, btw) is just side stuff.

Edit: Vig'd... pass!

It's apparently really important lore-related stuff (though that may be debatable given the KH series' convoluted story).

What are the odds the KH PS4 collection with both main games and the 42 hours of cut-scene movies comes out around the same time as KH3.  Or I suppose I could just fire up the ol PS3 again to play my 1.5 copy.

Good thing I wasnt 6 ANYMORE when the original Kingdom Hearts came out so I have never and will never play any of them.  The naming convention gives me a headache.

Watchdogs 2's release date accidentally got revealed in Twitch ads. Ubisoft is taking down every copy they can find, but the release date listed was 11/15/16.

Here's a copy of it in case it doesn't get taken down before you try to watch it:

Polygon has some screenshots and a bit of description from it if the above doesn't work:
