I played a bit of Hawken and did not enjoy it at all. It felt clunky for the most part in my opinion. Oh well, at least it was a F2P game and not something I spent money on.

I think so, yeah. Since Xbox One games require you keep Gold to play, they let you unlock it with trials, but since you keep Xbox 360 games forever once you've gotten them, they don't allow trials to unlock them.

I got my pair for $23 from Amazon and I'm tempted to order another pair soon just because I love them so. They were a little snug right out of the box, but you can just leave them on a couch pillow over night to stretch them out a bit. After a few days they fit really well without the need to keep doing it. Bear in mind I have a giant head, so ymmv.

Surprised you got the x1 games to dl. I know it's always let you dl the x1 gwg games with trials bit that stopped working for me months ago when I tried using 7 day and 14 day trials. Guess it works again? But yah it won't let you get anything 360 wise.

These were very expensive headphones when new (close to $200) and they were released as 360 headphones right at the tail end of the 360, so they put stickers on the boxes that say "compatible with Xbox one" or something, which they did by having you contact customer support to get these items. For a while they were out of everything and customers were pissed. Then they had just boom Mics and since most people have the new headsets, people were pleased. Now that the Polk branded stereo adapters are back in stock? I am ecstatic.

I got two yesterday and one today (my birthday isn't until tomorrow). It includes nothing but random stats that I really don't care about.

The only good thing I saw from that, was the fact that I bought a ton of DLC in September lol

So Polk has the adapter back in stock? I ordered from the Groupon deal, but I saw in all the reviews they were telling people to just buy a Microsoft adapter because they no longer had any. I ended up canceling it. If they have them to ship I might order one again...

I was under the impression that the free X1 adapter promo with Polk had ended (according to their FAQ)

How can "Ken" be reached ... email address?
 
Another suggestion, if you have the new controller you can order any android compatible headset. I really like the skull candy crushers for games because of the deep bass. (Can be had for less than 50 refurbed) but my wife uses here bose qc15. I know those aren't cheap but if you have a nice set of cans already, just look on amazon for a mic cable.
 
I'm interested in getting the Polk Melee headset but would like to feel better about how stuck i'll be if "Ken" doesn't pan out.  I've already got a MS Chat adapter "puck" from another headset, so i'm just wondering what other cables come with the Xbox One adapter kit that Polk sends out.  I searched a little on this and can't seem to find anything definitive.  Is it a fairly standard cable that I would need?  I see stuff about a Dolby adapter on the box so i'm wondering if it's a proprietary cable that will be hard to find or expensive.

The Polk Melee can be plugged directly into your iPhone as it comes out of the box. The microphone is some tiny little built in thing under the ear and does not work well.
To address complaints they started shipping a replacement
Boom mic+cable that plugs directly into the headset on one end and into the stereo adapter on the other end.

They made their own stereo adapters because he 3.5mm Jack wasn't standard at the time. I assume you can use that one.

The last thing in the mailer was a regular looking 1/8" male to 1/8" male cable. No idea why they included that.

In the box you will find their crazy USB powered optical sound decoder (which you could probably still use to get surround sound of you were willing to use an 1/8" mic/stereo combiner cable into your controller and adapted the 1/16" 360 Jack to an Xbox one Jack).

I would expect Ken to come through for you.

The elite is the current console with a 1tb hybrid drive and an elite controller. The hybrid drives usually keep the os on the ssd part and data on the 7200rpm drive. You can get it for 349 or so new, currently. The xbox one s is 40% smaller has the updated Bluetooth controller and supports 4k streaming for true uhd. It will also upscale all current games to 4k. The scorpio, which is supposedly coming next year is going to be much more powerful and basically be the 32x of the console generation. Little is known about it except how much more powerful it is.

No they won't. 4K TV's are still relatively new and costly and unless people want to pay thousands to really get the full use of it (or cram their face hella close when they game), Sony has nothing to worry about. This not even taking into account that with amount sold this generation, they are the undisputed king this console generation.

What are you talking about? 4K has been pretty standard lately. A lot of new TVs are being sold with 4K definition and you can get a relatively good one for under 1k. And don't even get me started on major sales days like Black Friday. Those things tend to sell out like hotcakes.

 
You can get a good name brand 4k 50inch tv for under 500 dollars at anytime. 

I was going to wait for the scorpio, but the One S has a built in UHD player, can stream 4k content, has HDR and now upscales games to 4k? I think it's a pretty sweet deal for 299. Just buying a UHD player on it's own is around 200. If you don't have a 4k television or plans to get one in the next few years, then you should probably wait for scorpio.

 
Disregard the following. Official sources say this is wrong

I saw online that the Xbox one S may only have a single USB port. No idea if that was true or not but for me that's a deal breaker. My kid uses a small wired ModeA controller, we have the Lego dimensions portal and the Disney infinity portal, and the USB external drive. Anything less than three is a problem here.

I bought my mom a new 55" TV with 4K for about $700. Most of the other TV's I saw while browsing also supported 4K.

I think the Xbox One S looks extremely appealing. It's much more portable (not a big deal to a lot of people, but convenient for me), has great specs, and has a reasonable price. I've been planning on building my own desktop for a while, but I may hold off until Microsoft reveals more about Scorpio, specifically the price.

Well I have the Elite now, just curious if it's worth upgrading to the S or would that be considered a downgrade in any way? I have a 4K TV, so that isn't a problem.
