I'm just telling you that you're buying a criminal simulation game because that's exactly what every game in the series is.
No argument here. That's why you play them -- escapist fantasy of doing shit you shouldn't be doing without any real world consequences greater than a blister on your ass.

Do gamers still get blisters from gaming anymore? Haven't controllers and asses evolved enough to avoid that?

I don't know what this is but I want it. 11/10 would walking cat simulator again

But I thought people only played games where you did the same thing as real life - you know, like driving trucks and managing warehouse logistics and all that.

I mean, who the hell wants to play a game that doesn't mirror reality? I don't want to fight dragons, I want to pore over spreadsheets.

Stop tempting me with under $30 DOOM. Want to play it but it is dropping pretty fast in price. May be able to hold off till sub $20.

If you don't mind waiting for early August (Quakecon) then I guess it should be cheaper.
Has this ever proven to be the case? Every year I see people suggesting that such & such Bethesda game will be cheaper during Quakecon, and every year the discounts are less than people seem to expect them to be.

That should be the Steam Winter Sale tagline:

Steam Winter Sale: Discounts less than you expect them to be!

Quakecon used to be pretty good for discounts but...it's taken the Steam Sale trajectory. I would actually expect for the best prices on DOOM to remain on third seller sites and not Steam directly.

Totally didn't steal this from anywhere:

Doom (PC Digital Download) $28.79 via Green Man Gaming
Green Man Gaming

For those interested

Note, game will require a free Steam account to play/activate
  • DOOM (PC Digital Download)
    $28.79 after voucher coupon SLICK20

Is there any better code than the SLICK20 one?
FO4 comes out to be $24 too, that is the cheapest I've seen it so far that I might pick it up now.

It's kinda hidden in the product information section. It used to be more front and center, but Amazon's trying to make it more difficult for us to save money.

It's not there. I checked another item, and it does show up. But it doesn't show up for me here.

Any opinions on Homeworld Remastered? It's $12.24 at Wingamestore.

http://www.wingamestore.com/product/5040/Homeworld-Remastered-Collection/

And I guess $11.63 if I can find one other game to buy there and use the BARGAINMOOSE 5% code.
Would you play them again? I probably would take another stab at HW2 at some point, because I never finished it. But for just HW2, that's a bit steep. If you never played either of them back in the day, Homeworld is really quite extraordinary in the way that it plays with traditional conceptions of 3-dimensional space and navigation. It also has an interesting story and is one of the prettiest space RTS games of its day. If you've played Sins of a Solar Empire, it's a bit like if someone had done that game 20 years earlier and put in a story mode too.

EDIT: I've also always been a bit annoyed by the fact that Relic didn't include the Cataclysm expansion for the first game, but it was developed or published by a different company and we couldn't get the rights to it or blah-blah-blah. Whatever, I just think if you're publishing a "remaster" you could at least include all of the content available for the original.

So far so good on my new rig. Should've sprung for a better mobo, it'll probably be the first thing I upgrade down the line. Downloading the Doom demo to see how it runs.

re: Cube game no one cares about beyond a +1 anyway getting revoked.

What happened? Like is there a meltdown or some drama or whatever? I'm not even seeing any trail.

Is anyone else having problems with Steam overwriting idle master launched from Steam shourcut with game it starts to idle?
Virus program flagging it? That happened to me with Archi and the default Windows 10 virus scanner until I whitelisted it.

Just started recently too.

I've been replaying the early Doom games with source ports to pass the time while waiting for a decent Doom sale. I realized recently that I only ever played the shareware versions when I was a kid!

Yeah I played HW Remastered 1+2 recently after buying it in last years summer sale (which coincidentally was the worst steam sale ever at the time) and really enjoyed it. It was my first time playing both games, I'm sure I would have been blown away if I had played them when they were released.

I think there was a fairly big update released recently (2.0?) that addressed a lot of complaints people had with the remastered versions, but I haven't played it since that update released.

Dear players! Some people are retired, our game to Steam library. This is due to the fact that they illegally make purchases on third-party resources that developers do not have the attitude. We very much sympathize with you, and apologize for any inconvenience, but our studio has nothing to do with these resources and all keys have been obtained illegally for the merchant, so we have withdrawn them! Buy a product, please only Steam! And please do not write reviews angry!
y u no hav da attitude

[Looks at GMG Bethesda sale]

Dammit - all I see is 40-50% off sales (before voucher).

Where's the 66% to 75% off deals at (before vouchers)?

:(

EDIT:

You forgot the most important question... how many VRAMS?
That goes right along w/ the GPU question. :)

We are not responsible for the sites on which you bought the game! Be careful next time! We respect our players! Those who bought the key official game in their udovlstvie without problems! And those who are on other sites on the cheaper teperv ynuzhdeny overpay!
You see, Tovarisch, only official, party-approved purchases is keeping of the game. Buying on other sites cheaper is filthy capitalist lie to discredit glorious Soviet Uni- Hardcube game. And please no writing of angry review, will be alerted to KGB for questioning on why spreadings of capitalist propaganda. Thanks to understandings, and all glory to the proletariat!

so Carl and WGN are smuggling illegal keys now? Damn the Russian developers for exposing him and his goons. No wonder he wants to give you free +1 in exchange for cards :whistle2:
