WELCOME TO THE NEW GAMESTOP TRADE-IN THREAD.

The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

Unfortunately, if you don't have many gamestops around you, the best option would be to come back when different employees are working. It is not a good idea to flip to the same store with the same employees working because it obviously brings unwanted attention to what you are doing. Just be patient about it and be smart doing your boomerangs.

Maybe there's notes on your account from someone else that did it to you and once she saw that, she called the DM from those notes. Or, maybe the DM changed and you've had yours replaced with the gigantic asshole model.

It was only about the prices. Nothing about me, she was laughing as she was ringing them up and said "someone needs to fix this." She wasn't blaming me. I think what fucked it up was she started ringing the games up instead of trading them in, so when she saw Lego Movie go from $14.99 buy to $22 trade she caught on.

Well, that's good, at least. So, no banning to be had.

I guess this is a reminder that people shouldn't expect foolishness like this to be around for long. Maybe not past tomorrow, as it might be the case.

In all honesty with another rumored 50/60 percent bonus trade in credit weekend for 2nd weekend in a row we all probably should probably be expecting values to tank this weekend anyways.

Don't read if you don't feel like hating Gamestop at the moment. 

So, before I roast this employee, I just want to say that there are good Gamestop guys out there, I know deader as well as a few guys in my home store who do fantastic work and is super nice. This guy just ends up shitting on the hard work of other employees who actually want to help their customers. 

I decided to buy from my home store and flip to another one close by. Granted, this flipping business isn't the most honest, so I'll take whatever heat I get. However, the guy at the other store decided to put refurb charges on half my games. Which make no sense seeing as how I just got them from another Gamestop, so technically I was being sold a faulty product? Not only that, he didn't want to give me by 20% preorder bonus, and insisted that the pro 10% was the bonus for preordering... because $10 * 20% = $1 according to him. When I finally persuaded him to give it a try and it worked, he was like "Oh. Why don't you preorder a few more games then?" Eat my ass.

He also took like 30 minutes to get to me, and I was the only guy waiting on line. And you know why? Because he spent that 30 minutes flirting with the last customer, some old soccer mom trying to buy Fifa for her kid. And this dude is in his 60s too, old Benjamin Franklin looking shithead. And when it was finally my turn, he took another 30 minutes scanning each game and checking them for the tiniest specks. Its like he was trying to stare at the disks so hard they'll break and he'll have to refuse them from me. Another mother with her kid (no milf mind you) came in and the geezer is head over heels again. Took me like an hour in that store and he kept trying to get me to use my credit on other preorders. 

Again, I get the fact that I wasn't doing the best thing for them by flipping, but this guy's attitude just blew my mind.

This is supposed to be a community for helping people, but I get smart alecky remarks instead of the actual list.

For one im confused...because if the app says those games are trading in for pennies is the shit different in store because if it isnt then I dont get how your boomeranging....

 
How are these games boomerang when the app show pennies? I see Lego Movie for Wii U but not Fire Emblem, Mario Kart 8, Left 4 Dead, etc aka the list lol.
 
Just flipped L4D2 4 times. They trade-in for $50 in-store. Don't call, because it is such a secret that they don't even know. You just have to buy the copies, and ask to trade them in in the same transaction as the buying.

 
In all honesty I dont get why you guys are being trolls about it.  This community is supposed to be about fellow gamers helping out fellow gamers and right now there is zero help to be had

We don't mind helping, but when people need their hands held to know how and what to flip, that's when it gets ugly. You can't expect anyone to tell you exactly what to do
 
Well it's more of the fact that the list is posted pretty consistently in this thread, so if you don't hang around in the thread often enough that you insist other people do the work and bring the list to you then well people can get prickly about it.

There is talk over the past few pages about people trading things in and new boomerangs today. If this is out of context to you just go read a few past posts to help put everything into context.
