Noone playing RSS tonight? :/
I played for an hour or so earlier and apparently have suffered some sort of brain worm infestation in the last 24 hours as I couldn't complete a single simple Terror Hunt. I died three times on a friggin' Classic in the suburban house :wall:

Those thinking about lower cost upgrades to play the newer games that use more cores better.....AMD is bringing their A game again?

http://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-7-1700x-389-8-core-cpu-benchmarks-leaked/
Like what games exactly and what exactly has changed from the current 8 core but underpowered single threaded CPUs they've been selling for years? I want them to succeed but everything they show are these products meant to thrive in this magical software ecosystem that doesn't exist and with an operating system that's built differently than Windows 7/8/10. It's a fairy land we've been promised is coming any day now for the last 10-15 years and it's unlikely that in most usage for most consumers they'll compete with Intel on anything but bang for buck at the lowest end. If the highly threaded and everything 64 bit world they seem to think we live in was actually here their CPUs would probably be great but there's no incentive for most software to be written that way and almost everything that's been CPU constrained has moved off CPU to GPU for performance.

well shit...

Should I be the bigger of two little men and let him have the last word? Should I send him only a smiley face back?

Who's the asshole--me, him, or both of us? You decide!
I would just block him in every way shape and form. (Block contact and Bid/Buy options.)

I think he was more asshole than you...

You're not just an asshole, you're a complete dumbass. eBay staff can read your messages. If the buyer reports you for attempting to make a sale outside of eBay, paid via PayPal F&F, and they find the proof in your messages, both of your eBay and PP accounts could be suspended.

Dumbass.
Buyer suggested it so he would have to be a complete dumbass to tattle on himself.

Also, GBK didn't really offer to sale it outside of eBay just stated what the cost would be.

Finally, I do believe that eBay and Paypal are separate entities again... eBay shouldn't be able to lock a Paypal account.

One of these nights I'm off I'm going to make it to a RSS event... Just not sure when.

Not me.

I've been playing Rise of the Tomb Raider [Steam].

It's outstanding, so far.

I'm around some 14 hours or so into the game.

I've already completed the Baba Yaga DLC, too - which basically is another quest that they've embedded into the actual core game. You can take it on, after you get to a certain point in the game.

GBK Presents:

The Most Bitter Man on eBay

Should I be the bigger of two little men and let him have the last word? Should I send him only a smiley face back?

Who's the asshole--me, him, or both of us? You decide!
Just to throw my 2 cents into the offering, I don't think you were an asshole or did anything wrong. You were just reacting to some entitled bitter manboy throwing a fit because he wants something below it's value and can't get it. Aside from what Foxhack not so eloquently mentioned about potentially being punished by eBay, I don't think you have much of anything to worry about.

I tend not to deal with people like that or respond.

My worst customer ever was on Amazon. They ordered 1 or 2 cheap PC games I was selling on a Friday morning and not two hours later they send me an angry email through Amazon complaining that I haven't shipped their item. I responded in a friendly manner informing them that I would be shipping the games later that day (even though per Amazon I had more time to do so) and explaining to them that there was a postal holiday on Monday so Tuesday would be the earliest they could expect the item even if I ship out same day. He sent back even more angry emails so I just cancelled the transaction and refunded him the money and sent him one final email just telling him that it was obvious nothing I could do would satisfy his expectations so I was refunding his money so he could order the items elsewhere. I shit you not, three years later I get another email from this asshole through Amazon asking about the order and telling me he never received the games and asking if I could resend them. I just responded reminding him I refunded his order and haven't heard from him again.

*shrug* I've been red in 3 of my last 5 systems and only have Intel now and the one previous time because I was working in retail and got the chip they were selling for peanuts to trick us in to selling their stuff. Don't get me wrong their stuff sounds like it has huge potential and it's best for everyone when they're competitive at all price points. I just don't think, from what they've shown, they're going to beat Intel at their own game in the mid and upper levels. Gotta do that to gain the market share to convince companies to re-engineer their products to take advantage of your chips.

Right, we were THAT close to MysterD playing with us, I'm sure.

Last night, the moment I chose to stop playing was this: I was in the dining room by the back wall and attempted to throw a frag grenade into the basement stairs. Despite aiming over it, the grenade bounced off the top of the overturned table and landed back by me. No, it didn't kill me -- I backed off enough to only go down to 30%. But the explosion blew open the ceiling hatch and the three guys in the room above said "OH HAI!" unloaded on me. So I simultaneously blew myself up with a grenade, alerted the upstairs enemy and gave them a handy hole through which to kill me. Time to move on.

Having broken free of the witch's curse that is Dead by Daylight 24/7, I'm free to explore my gaming catalog:

I played a full game of Civ VI on newbie level where I'm pretty sure it's literally impossible for me to lose. I hadn't bothered before since the specter of key revocation hung over it but by this time I assume we're cool. I liked most of it and the cartoonish graphics grew on me. I thought the Poland DLC Civ was cool and liked the Hussars mechanically though the DLC got rating bombed for not being big enough for the cost, should have been in the base game, etc. Having bought it for zero dollars, I share none of those concerns. Eventually Jadwiga convinced the world that we makes the best TV shows and internet memes and so I unexpectedly won the game via Cultural Victory. I'll have to try again later at a real difficulty setting where I have a risk of losing.

Speaking of risks of losing (they call that a segue), I also started Darkest Dungeon which a friend bought for me out of the blue. It's a 2-D dungeon delving & party management game with perma-death for the characters in your party. The game starts off by saying your dudes are gonna die so get over it (you can replace them in town). After a couple runs, I haven't had anyone die yet but a few are loaded with unfavorable quirks and sanity issues and I was forced to flee my last run after everyone had bleed effects but I was out of bandages. It's a good looking game, the narration is well done and I'm having fun. I'm playing it on Radiant difficulty which was added after launch, making the game a little easier and cutting the campaign time from 80 hours to a svelte 40. They also added a harder difficulty because there isn't a game out there where someone isn't saying "What if, while the cyclops is skull-raping you on level one, they gave him an extra dick and also you also needed to watch your hydration levels?". I bet the guys at Namco get the same lovingly crafted letter each week containing a proposal to explore the survival sim aspects of Pac-Man.

Finally, I played some Talos Principle which is a super beautiful and engaging game that I'm sure I'll never finish because puzzles are hard when you're dumb. After a bunch of easy tasks that a lab mouse could perform, I hit a wall and my God-being Father had to say "There's no shame in choosing another path". They didn't bother to voice act the embarrassed cough and disappointed sigh from my father figure but it was heavily implied. He no doubt started thinking I was heading for the Montessori schools and now he's looking up Sylvan Learning Centers. "Explore the gardens at your leisure but never enter the Forbidden Tower of Knowledge, child. For you would gain great and terrible wisd---" "Nah, it cool. We got any more Sunny D?"

didnt we hear the same thing with piledriver?  those leaked benches were no where near what the real performance was for piledriver.

I wish AMD would be more competitive in the CPU market, but with being disappointed time and time again over the past 5-10 years I will wait to see reviews before I believe any of the leaked benchmarks.

I finally picked up borderlands 2 Mac game store is having a borderlands sale this weekend you can get borderlands 2 complete edition all game dlc minus the like 50 skin dlc for 11.99
Don't forget that there are still plenty of Golden Keys for Borderlands 2 that still work. It's good to activate as many as you can now just in case you hit a difficulty wall -- or have a particularly unlucky time at looting -- later on. http://orcz.com/Borderlands_2:_Golden_Key

I see "EldritchOnRye has started playing Rainbow Six Siege" a lot. Never get an invite though. Sad no one likes me. Going back to hanging out with Siri

heh, does intel even have a color associated with it? i know about red vs. green for gpus, but for cpu's? would intel be blue? if you asked someone if they were red or blue would they know what you're talking about or would they think you're talking about politics :)

If by a lot you mean when the people in here play or I remember that there's daily objective things?

I seem to recall myself not playing FF14 right now because someone told me I was on the wrong server and that this other server has been locked for the 18 hours I've been refreshing it.

Yep, Intel is blue. Sadly no one describes their system as "olive" or "cyan" or "purple".

I had the same issue with issue with someone on amazon.

He bought a game then sent an email in about an hour asking when I was going to ship. He wasn't really angry about it, but it set off my spodey sense.

I immediately refunded and said sorry I wasn't able to ship fast enough for him.

He complained saying he still wanted the game and just wanted to know when I would ship, but it was already done. He end up leaving me negative feedback (1 star on amazon).

and I thought only MysterD would write this wall of text..

I am getting back into borderlands 2. Why? Remembered I never played the DLC after I bought the SP when it was still new. They sure offered a lot of content for the money.

I played the heck out of the base-game - and when I finished it, that was pretty much it.

Like yourself, I eventually bought GameAgent's BL2 Pack.

I've barely touched Captain Scarlett DLC.

I still need to get back to the DLC's at some point, as well.

EDIT:

I also have BL: The Pre-Sequel (base-game), too. Great, I'm falling way behind on BL series' DLC's+games over here.

Mafia III is $17 at Amazon in case "Under $20" was your buy point.  Physical edition.

Looks like the FO4 thing where the price keeps fluctuating so it may go cheaper (or they may sell out).

Because what kind of dumbshit would quote an entire post just to add one line bitching about its length at the end if he was remotely serious?

Did you order it? Or plan to?
Nah. Every opinion I've read is pretty much that it's nothing like Mafia aside from the name and shoehorning in Vito to call it a 'Mafia' game. Boring game play, story doesn't hold up, bunch of technical step-backs from Mafia II, etc.

I'll wait for it to be in a Humble Bundle or something. Maybe if it hits $7.49

I absolutely loved Mafia 1 + really liked Mafia 2 a hell of a lot.

It's a shame to have heard so many mixed things about Mafia 3 - technical performance + bug issues (when it first launched); repetitive gameplay issues; etc etc. Some people have said the story + character stuff is great, some haven't.

I really don't know what the hell to expect out of this game.

EDIT:

Oh, and it would be nice if Mafia 1 got its license issues straightened-out and it wound up back on Steam.

The story in 3 is awesome (well, the presentation is awesome). The game did perform like hot shit though so I would say buy at <$10.

*edit* That Nintendo Switch thread is testy lol, I think I need MysterD to go write them a dissertation on how to chill the fuck out.

That's a good way....to kill a thread so that barely anyone - hell, if anyone - actually posts in there after the likely insane Wall of Text that I'd leave....

Best I've heard about Mafia III is the standard "Well, if you don't look at it as a game from [franchise] and just look at it as its own game, it's ok..."

Except I want an actual Mafia game.  If I just want an open world crime game, I can play GTAV which I have yet to do.

Mafia III is a fucking mess.

Its actually a pretty good attempt at storytelling and I found the time I played that I was  engaged in that respect, but 2K do not deserve to be rewarded by buying it because of the shortcuts they took in development. Its ugly, runs like garbage, and annoying as hell. They've also yet to address many of the problems with it technically.

Play GTAV already, Syntax.

Most complaints I have heard have been from people bitching that the main character is black. For some reason people assume that the mafia is only Italian or that there is only one mafia. The Black Mafia was a group that operated out of Philadelphia from the late 1960's to the 1980's. It can be assumed that Hanger 13/2K Czech took inspiration from this group but changed the setting to the fictional New Bordeaux. The story is about the creation of a Black Mafia in order to combat the Italian Mafia in this fictional city.

Mafia 1 doesn't age well. In fact, it's a buggy piece of ..... even through the rose-colored glasses of nostalgia

Mafia 2 is still the shit though. A must play!

Mafia 3.. meh.
The original Mafia is a top 5 all-time game for me. Things I look back fondly on like the speed-limit and literally being able to run out of gas would drive me insane today. I will never play that game again but boy, back in the day it was unbelievable.
