I don't know, most of what I've seen are normal complaints usually are aimed at Bioware. Animation and faces. The rest of the stuff you really can't judge without than a couple hours of gameplay. The gameplay feels at least as good as 3, depending on your preference. I think the new tweaks are generally improvements all around.

My only real complaint is the trash character creator. Inquisition was pretty decent in this regard.

There are a few things but overall it's amazing. It's the internet, which you know loooves to talk shit.

I started up the game today and it said you have 9 hours left and my heart skipped a beat lol.

Played about 2 hours today I think. That makes it 7 hours left!...

The cover is different, just a bit to get used to that's all. Again, something the internet doesn't like, change.

I just noticed occasionally when a NPC was talking with me changes to another voice sample their pose moves their shoulders up like they're twitch shrugging ( in 3D Modeling terms, It looks like the rigging - the skeletal structure that is used in animation that bounds the 3D mesh for animating - on the 3D Model glitches a bit and is a bug). That'll probably get patched, along with all the other bugs they're most certainly working on. I'd say though, the experience has been increasingly positive in my eyes. I might be a bit biased but if you're a Mass Effect fan just like me I think you'll like it. It feels like a Mass Effect TV show, they're taking the things that worked in the movie (ME trilogy) and using a different cast, different story and new vision.

In my experience those always get completed no matter how ridiculously high the numbers are. You should be good. Are you going form the achievement or just want the rewards they are offering?

 
I guess I have gotten as far as I can go on the trial. Since I prepurchased it I thought the whole game was unlocked but I guess not:(

I'm loving Mass effect, dunno why it's getting hate.
 
Considering the Division/Siege double pack since I own neither. I understand that the DLC for Siege is basically a shortcut pack and all of the content is available in the vanilla game with some grinding, is that right? And is the Division DLC pretty essential?

Can't speak on the division dlc since I just started the base game but saying "some" grinding is needed for the extra characters is an understatement. The dlc is just those extra characters (I think the season pass gives some cosmetic stuff as well). I haven't played in a couple months but there's been a rough estimate being posted of rounds needed per DLC character to unlock them and it was pretty high. I think after grinding out all the achievements I maybe had enough to buy one or two of the dlc characters and each season is 6 (or 8?) total. It is a hard but fun game and is much more difficult without communicating with your team mates.
 
I preordered digital and I don't get a countdown but I did hit the progression lock, "thanks for playing the trial, purchase full version to progress beyond this point" but I already have the full version purchased :( guess I can play mp forever.

on the last community challenge the final chest was not met, need to open all the 3 the get the achievement for 5 chest or else wait for the next round

Eh, maybe I'll pass on Siege at least, and maybe just invest in the Division + DLC. After watching some gameplay footage of Siege, I don't think I'm hardcore enough to get into it. I'll be the person repeatedly failing and letting the team down because I'll invest 30 minutes in the game every two weeks until I get frustrated and give up for another two weeks. And a game without respawning is a game I don't want to play.

Keep at it and it will come eventually, it took me months to get cause those challenges only pop up so often. That achievement was kind of a pain in the butt but at least it is in an excellent game.

I've had similar reservations. My friend loves it, but he's someone who dives fully into games and spends a ton of time. I'll play Battlefield for a couple hours, then Halo, then whatever, and thanks to kids and work don't have the time to invest in games like I used to. It's a shame because I'm so tempted to pick it up. Looks fun if you get into it.

I've said that ever year for the past 15 or so years. Not going to change a thing now or forever. I've already bought 30 games this year so far and I've only played two of them so far this year. Also got Tekken 7 Collectors Edition and Persona 5 Collectors Edition preordered as well. Life is hard.

I played with the male protagonist and didn't notice any exceptionally bad animation. I am pretty sure I did everything I can do in the tutorial, and it only took me 7 hours, lol. My time wasn't spent efficiently tho.
 
All three ME games are in my backlog as well. I've played a few hours of the first one though and most likely got distracted by a newer game. That's why I preordered Andromeda during the visa checkout deal, figured I'd be most likely to play it when it first comes out than later when it would just end up in the backlog. I figure it will have some connections to the original trilogy but not to the point where I'll be lost since it takes place so far after.

Appears that I finally got an update with my dashboard in the preview program so two questions:

1) Not sure if with the update whether I have access to Game Pass. Don't see it but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?
2) Is there any way to turn the Xbox button back to going to the home page rather than bringing out the fly out guide? It's annoying as shit!
 
I'm kinda torn on Mass Effect Andromeda. I feel like it needed more time in the oven and that's kinda scary since It's been five years since the third game. The dialogue is pretty meh, the facial animations are at times cringe worthy and I haven't felt like caring for any of the new characters introduced (yet). 

The new alien enemies are as generic as can be. The collectors felt threatening, these guys scream el generico.

The good news is the combat is even more refined and feels pretty crisp even compared to the third game. The MP seemed like for the most part a 1:1 replica of the third game's MP: Level up, clear out the waves, get the loot. But again I only played one match.

I will say It's pretty hard to judge the full game with just a 10 hour trial when your only given one planet and the tutorial mission. But as things currently stand I'm just content with Mass Effect, and that's not good considered I waited five years for this game. Both Zelda and it looks like Persona 5 will score well criticially for games that have had years without a mainline entry (well Zelda console wise anyways, considering Link Between Worlds got great reviews, that was strictly handheld) but I have a feeling this Mass Effect is going to get some awfully mixed reviews.

Right now I'm going to wait for it to hit the vault sadly. But that's a good thing because that means my EA Access dollars are hard at work.

I'm glad EA has allowed me to try this game early and saved me some dollars. EA Access is a wonderful thing.

tdlr: Mass Effect good so far, just not mind blowing as I wanted it to be.

^^^ Based on what I've played so far, I'd probably would be doing the same thing with MEA. But I have it as part of a Visa Checkout order and cancelling it would probably screw up the rest of my order.

Oh well, $38 at launch isn't bad. Hopefully it does get better further in.

  1. If you have access to the Game Pass, that means that you have the build that gives a 6th section to the My Games and Apps app, "Memberships." For instance, I have a '2' to the right of the word "Memberships" - one of them is Xbox Live Gold and the other is the Alpha Preview of Xbox Game Pass. Also, the Bioshock games are no longer in the list of All Games for the Pass.

Forza Horizon 3 has four new weekend challenges up. Check the Social Forzathon tab in the in-game hub for requirements. A Lucky Escape is done by getting a Drift Skill followed by a Near Miss Skill. You can 3-Star the same PR Stunt 3 times and it counts.

ME Andromeda will be the game that finally gets me to sub to ea access. Can't wait to check out the multiplayer. ME3 multi was tons of fun.
