Stop searching for a name.

OK - Here is my TMI post:
Wife and I are working towards having a baby and we've been discussing baby names. If we have a boy, I totally want to name him FLASH! Wife is completely opposed to this.

So before you say anything, I know - I shouldn't even be having a baby. I lost that battle and moved on. So given it's inevitable, let me know: is FLASH a great name for a kid, or a terrible name?

Even if I can't name hi FLASH, I'm still going to call him FLASH.
Eliab.

It's biblical, off the beaten path enough to get white people cred, and is actually a decent name when shortened to Eli.

Alright, my GFX card overclock passed the ultimate test and I got 60 FPS on Minecraft. My god, I hadn't played it in well over a year, but as soon as I started I felt the nervousness of an addict getting a hit again after oh so long.  I really hope I don't get sucked back into it.  The bros better hope I won't get sucked back into it.  Or maybe they should hope that.

MysterD, I get the impression you are anti-DRM. What don't you like about it?
It can restrict you from running your game you bought to own paid to have a license to use.

Whether it's old DRM having drivers not working on modern systems (i.e StarForce is notorious for this); some DRM forcing you to connect to Net to activate game (Securom + Tages have a wonderful history w/ this nonsense); other DRM "anti-tamper" crap that can cause performance decreases + God knows whatelse it might be doing (i.e. Denuvo); and any other thing preventing me from running my game - yeah, I don't really want it, don't care for it, and/or don't need it.

Just give me my game and let me freaking play - especially if it's a Single Player game.

Steam's CEG might be one of the better DRM's out there and much more tolerable than most of the DRM-crap on the market.

Name your kid Derick.

And with that spelling, too.

You also get a guaranteed squad XP boost, which will be nice for the next bronight regardless. There's rumors of a double XP event very soon (as soon as this weekend), so another thing to be cognizant of.
Its a safe bet with the non-premium launch of the first dlc pack. They usually do them with every dlc release. Premium release was the 14th so that puts the 28th as public, so this weekend/next week

Well, I feel a little more like a real computer nerd gamer geek after tonight. I never OC'd a GFX card, but my reading over the weekend revealed my 7950 was a really good card for OCing so I gave it a try.

Followed a guide and used MSI Afterburner. Using Furmark (and I know some people say Furmark is not good, but it's what the guide I was following recommended) as my guidelines and running the full 1080p test I jumped from avg 30 FPS and score of 1900 without OC to avg 50 FPS and score of 2900 after the OC.

Only concern was the temps. Was hitting 82 on the test and in the high 70s while gaming, 45-46 idle. Read up on possibly cleaning the fans and replacing the thermal paste and saw it wasn't terrible hard so I did that and replaced it with some Artic Silver. Got my temps during Furmark down to 72 max and idle is now between 38-40 so I felt it was worth it even if it isn't super drastic. I hope I made MysterD proud.

Yea, thats what I read in respect to the rumors. The non-premium DLC launch is the catalyst for it.

At any rate, BF1 is scheduled for next Friday, and we can always do impromptu broups at any time if it happens sooner. I would think we'd hear by tomorrow or Thurs if its this weekend, but I would think next weekend would be more likely.

just say you are sniping and we wont even notice you are missing

Plus you won't burden the system with eligibility for unemployment benefits.
Played in a clan with a guy whose handle was Societal Leech. All he did was play video games all day while on disability for like a year.

Dont quit, just have a breakdown and sponge off them until the project passes.

It's settled.  I'm going with Blorg.  Red_Lizard2 is officially the most helpful CAG.  Thanks to all our contestants for the great helpful suggestions.

bioware died when they released the steaming pile of SWTOR
SW:TOR was by BioWare Austin with a small team of support of BioWare Edmonton assisting - so that to me is very similar to what's going on w/ BioWare Montreal making a Mass Effect game (i.e. it's not the main BioWare Edmonton).

There was something special about the main BioWare Edmonton team over the years - and for the most part, other than Dragon Age 2, it's shown in the superb quality of their works.

I'm already having troubles finding something next. Have some medical problems(it actually qualifies as a disability), and seems like everything I'm looking into requires a lot of standing. Think I'm going to need to go back to school and get a degree or certification in a field, but again.....Med issues could interfere with a lot.

"Yeah" I thought, "I'll be making good money at a job I can do. Nothing could go wrong!". So I'm applying for a job I might not qualify for right now. I'm close, I think. I'll let them decide.

Realistically I'll end up doing something involving typing, or many little things, until I figure something out. I'd love a from home job, but some of the requirements are extreme for what sound like simple jobs, or are online support jobs.

I don't want to block MysterD but if I could just have a way to block his constant stream of reaction gifs, that would be nice.  Who do I talk to to make this happen?

Do you want me to spoiler tag them upon a reply?

Kinda like so...

GiF goes here, but I don't feel like posting one in here right now.

Before you post that Tebow pic, please, try to remember that some of us have kids and they might be in the room. No one should have to explain that picture to a youngling.

Looks like someone had traded shit ton of stolen humble bundles to tremor and today they were revoked.
Nope, worse than that. Tremor says it's not a problem with trade ins.. it's their own purchases from Humble that got revoked and refunded:

http://www.tremorgames.com/?action=viewpost&postid=545621
Humble Bundle refunded some bundles from some accounts we bought buying Humble Bundles from recently saying they do not support "exchanging of Steam keys or the trading of games or resell". Reselling games is perfectly legal and Humble Bundle even tries to stop exchanging games!
We will check and refund the keys. You can always email the developers about Humble Bundle's illegal and anti-consumer terms of service.
Looks like Humble is finally cracking down on resellers

Can I sell, trade, or use my keys for promotional purposes (i.e. Stream giveaways)?

"Giving away keys promotionally is viewed differently than gifting keys for personal use through our built-in system. Selling keys is strictly prohibited. We do not provide support for 3rd party contests, promotions, giveaways, or purchases as we do not have enforcement capabilities when it comes to outside individuals following through with obligations."

Yeah, good luck tremor.

Terrific. I can now look forward to an avalanche of revokes from all the humble keys that I've grabbed off of Tremor over the past few years,

I'm hoping the revokes won't date back that far. The oldest bundle I've seen people report revokes for is the Bandai bundle that had Tales of Zestiria and the Project Cars DLC pack in the upper tier.

I haven't been buying many humble games from tremor recently so I shouldn't be affected too much. No revokes so far, but I will be annoyed if my VA-11 HALL-A gets revoked cuz I traded in a few bundles to get that, and it'll be a pain in the ass to find a copy of now.

The bros jumped in for a bit of the Goldeneye Source remake last night for some rootin, tootin, shootin. This is a really faithful adaptation of the original Goldeneye on the Source engine and its really worth a go if you enjoyed the original + its free. It was fun for the most part and there was a nice little turnout that made it easy to get into despite a slow start due to the somewhat complicated server set-up process. Its old school with a fresh coat of paint.

On a personal note, immediately following our GE session, I noticed that my BF1 Premium Pass that I picked up from a trader earlier yesterday was delivered. Me and Weiler jumped in on that for a few goes at a couple of the new maps. I enjoyed the few we got to play. Verdun Heights was probably my favorite as it has the C point raised so its a constant uphill struggle to cap it. There was a predominantly indoor map that I liked but weiler doesn't and an outdoor one in a pretty French village which was alright.  I also got to open close to 10 Battlepacks b/c you get "back pay" once you own Premium and with almost every one I got a Squad XP boost, so I have a bunch of those to play next time its bro'd. BF1 has become quite popular with our group so consider getting it and joining in as it absolutely provides bang for the buck as even the campaign is well done. I'm actually suprised I am enjoying it this much as I've not enjoyed a BF game at this level since BF 1942.

Re: Tremor's "You can always email the developers about Humble Bundle's illegal and anti-consumer terms of service."

Hahaha, yeah.  Because if there's anything developers love, it's a bajillion 10¢ copies of their games floating around for the next year due to bundle abusers.  I'm sure that they'll be right on Humble about that.

I haven't played the new BF1 maps yet -- I need to get one that.

If she's not pregnant you haven't lost yet... Tell her you love her enough to have a baby even though you have doubts that she should love you enough to name the child. :)

(It worked for me on buying more time.)

If I'm lucky, we'll have a girl. If I'm even luckier, maybe we can settle for another dog.
Married 17 years... No kids but have had 4 cats. (We lost one about this time last year and replaced him a few months later.)

The wife is wanting something like Samuel, David, or other generic old testament biblical name. Meh. I'm all like "What about Cornelius?" She says "I kind of like Joshua."
Lucifer. Its the best name in the Bible outside of Adam. Cannot go wrong with it.

Good stuff!

Married almost 10. 3 dogs. No kids yet. But it seems it's going to happen this time - given our ages, this is really the last chance to make this happen or we'll be too old, and she is not letting that window close.

I'm just going to say that as a rule, folks who are interested in biblical names are not receptive to suggesting their children be named after the fallen angel. Samuel is looking better and better.

Geez, what boring plain name. Hi, I'm Sam. The most famous people with my name are known for making beer and murdering a whole bunch of people in New York City.

The only upside to Samuel is if it's born a boy, but identifies as a girl then she could keep her name and shorten it to Sam.

Sorry, but Samuel sucks. The only cool one is Samuel L Jackson. The rest are usually half-wits. Go with Michael or something generic if she won't let you pick any cool names, it's biblical.

I know Samuel sucks. Except for Sam & Max. But no chance I'll ever be able to name a kid Max. So Sam is out as far as I'm concerned.

Honestly, my top contenders are Sebastian, Isaac, and Gabriel at this point.

DON'T RULE OUT JEHOSHAPHAT!!!

YOU CAN SHORTEN IT TO 'PHAT'....LIKE "YO, YO, YO, MY SON IS 'PHAT!!!!" RESPONSE: "NOT AS FAT AS YO MOMMA!!!"

Add something presidential to the kids name, maybe Issac Donald?

My first turned 10 today, crazy how fast that went. We named him after the the greatest R&B singer of all time and the middle name is from our 7th US president. If anyone can guess correctly I have a super mustache key for you.
