So for that Raise deal, you have to make an account and can't use Paypal? Meh. I hate having a log-in for every Shaq-Fuing website in existence now.

The Raise saga continues (for me, anyway). Called and did the confirmation questions and it only took like two minutes, no biggie. Rep said that my purchase would finalize within an hour or so.

Checked back every now and then only to find six hours later that my purchase had mysteriously cancelled and my account has been suspended for no apparent reason. Will call him in a bit and edit this post with whatever happens. Glad it's working for everyone else, though! Lol

EDIT:
Called and talked to the same guy who did the verification for me earlier. He gave me a really vague explanation about the system determining that there was an issue and told me I'd need to send in a photocopy of my ID.

I told him that wasn't happening and let him know that I know of several other people who had ordered and had no problems whatsoever. I've lived at the same address and had the same bank account for years, so I told him I had no idea what the problem would be.

He again blamed the mysterious computer overlords for the issue and likened it to getting flagged for an audit by the IRS. I countered that in the case of the IRS, certain factors (a lot of deductions, for instance) lead to you getting flagged so it's not the best comparison.

I told him that I knew he wasn't personally responsible, but that as a customer, even though it's a nice deal it's not worth all the hassle and said that this type of strange policy is not going to win new customers. Told him that although he claimed they have a high level of security, I've never had this problem buying online from Amazon, Best Buy, even CD Keys, which runs the same type of business selling digital gift cards. I was firm, but respectful knowing that it wasn't him personally that was at fault.

He asked me to hold, talked it over with a manager and said they worked it out and that I could resubmit the order and the manager would make sure it would go through the next time. I did and hopefully it works this time. If so, it's not a big deal to spend a grand total of ~5 mins on the phone to save $12. Also got a $5 off a $50 purchase code for future use after the verification that would stack nicely with 12% off a larger card if I'm so inclined at some point.

I'm predicting a horrible sale tonight too. I need about $20 worth to push me over the $60 Xbox Rewards threshold. If there's nothing, maybe I'll cave in and buy some of those XBLA games I've waited years to go on sale, but never have. Then and only then will they go on sale for the first time ever.

Been busy and just saw the Raise stuff, and it went through right away for me.  34 for 50 in xbox credit.

Should have actually stopped and looked, as the 16 for 30 is much better.

I got Poker Night 2 the one and only time it was on sale. Pretty good game with lots of references I imagine many won't get. Got Half Minute Heroes years ago here on CAG when lots of people suddenly had tons of codes and sold them dirt cheap. Not sure where they came from though.

Was thinking of getting Deathsmiles 2x since that apparently will never be on sale....until I buy it.

Pick something else. I already have Deathsmiles 2x, so a discount on that doesn't do me any good.

 
Come on sniper elite 4! My dad absolutely loves 3, that he plays so much he knows all the levels by heart. I walked in while he was playing, I watched as he was walking backwards with the knife. I asked him what are you doing, he says watch. Then he proceeds to take out 2 enemies. So I told him when 4 goes on sale I'll buy it for him, just cause I was impressed with what he did.

Anyone pick up Infinite Air this past week? Don't recall seeing anyone mentioning it so wasn't sure if people had impressions on it or not.

It's slightly less bad on a portable system since you could always take it somewhere to use the internet....

...but Switch carts currently hold up to 32GB which means they just went super cheap and decided to put 2/3 of the game somewhere else other than the cartridge.

 
Sounds like WB being ridiculously cheap. Zelda is about 13 gigs, and Dragon Quest Heroes is 32, both of which fit on a single cartridge. It doesn't excuse the stupidly low on-board storage, but the fact that this game is somehow $60 should have meant WB could stand to lose another couple dollars per game to get the bigger cartridge.

 
Well Nintendo's position on storage is that it gets cheap very quickly, so it wouldn't make sense to charge customers more for something that they could expand for less if they need it. Like I can get a 200gig card right now for 76, but it'll be less when I actually do need to get one.

I wonder if this is another case of Tony Hawk: devs were crunched for time and had to ship out what they had done and finish the rest of the game and patch in.
