Humble Bundle Thread

Been wanting Black Mesa and Event[0]. Already have The Witness on PC and PS4, so I sold it for $6 (I think). Will have to get rid of Layers of Fear as well. As for the May early unlocks, I played INSIDE last year and thought it was great.

I subscribed for next month but am not expecting much based on the theory of a strong early unlock correlates to a crappier bundle and vice versa, a sample size of 1 month is all that is needed. Of course maybe I am the only one who sees Dirt Rally as a decent early unlock despite already owning it.
I loved Dirt 2 and 3, so I am good with it.

I almost bought Black Mesa and Layers of Fear when they were on sale, so I feel pretty good about this month.

Start scheduling games I own and maybe I would :p. I seriously don't own a single game this month, unless you count Battlefield which I don't really care for but may show up again for someday.

EDIT - I see someone scheduled Black Mesa, so I guess I own that.

you need to bite the bullet and just play with the bros. Syntax bitched to high heaven about the game and probably has the second most hours in the game.

Syntax gave Dead by Daylight a negative review after having 174 hours playtime lol
Syntax likes to suffer. Maybe he needs to update his avatar.

Seconding Inside. Its a great game. It's a bit on the short side and doesn't offer much replayability but its a helluva experience. Its great. Absolutely worth a play.

I'm on the fence completely for May as I own both of the unlocks, so will wait and decide going forward. The more I read about the games this month the more Im glad I subscribed.

Reds is getting close to MysterD territory in respect to bronight avoidance.

That's right Reds, MYSTERD has been to more bronights than you over the past 2 months.

Realized two games were on my wish list: :D/

... and that the other games don't really look like my thing, :shame:

Then I read everyone's reactions and learned I should love the bundle: :whistle2:k

Ooh Dirt Rally and Inside! :bouncy:

So... Bobby, then?

The new monthly's resell value for the headliners isn't bad. Dirt Rally goes for $6, while Inside goes for $4. Sold Dirt Rally for $6 and kept Inside for myself. Not bad at all when compared to other monthlies. This does make me a bit worried for the rest of the contents, but whatever.. I should be able to get my $4.8 worth out of the rest of the bundle.

Not a bad bundle. Have wanted Black Mesa for awhile, and had Layers of Fear on my wishlist. Event 0 looks interesting enough that I kept it. I'll sell the rest. Happy to get Inside for next month. Will sell dirt rally. Because you all care.

Of course I cancelled my Monthly subscription the month they add Black Mesa to a bundle. I should've just kept my streak of Monthly bundles going, but having The Witness as the featured game irritated me for whatever reason.

In the end trying to piecemeal what I want seemingly isn't worth skipping a monthly bundle anymore. Lesson learned.
Yup, I swapped to a year format sometime this month... I've been signed up for so long and saving a buck, while not amazing, does make it easier to break even after a visit to the cesspool.

Black Mesa is the only thing I'd have wanted from that mess and I'm sure I can pick it up for $5 less eventually.  New month's stuff has no appeal for me.

I think the Monthly is almost always worth getting even though I have skipped some months. The only headliner that I can recall that wouldn't get you at least 50% of cost back if you didn't want it was that BLOPS III starter pack thing and that was even offloadable for about $6 early in the cycle. Every other headliner has been worth $6 if you sell it and in some cases even more (i.e. XCom 2 or the upcoming when there's 2 titles).

In the months that I have skipped, I have almost always gotten a few games from it on the trade market and they are almost always $2 a piece give or take since some have not reached that return. Not bad, but the effort to get them is what makes it annoying.

August 2016 is still the worst of them all so far IMO.

Keep in mind Black Mesa isn't finished yet. It's missing the last part of the campaign (Xen) which they expect to have finished by Summer 2017.

Sorry if this has been addressed but are all the games individual codes or is it 1 code for everything? I find it difficult to see it as 1 code.

Is anyone interested in selling just Darksiders for PS4 for a few bucks and you can keep the rest of the bundle??
For the THQ bundle it's one code for everything. Doesn't matter what tier you buy. They made it impossible to resell individual games.

Damn, that sucks, but thanks for letting me know.
I can't guarantee it'll work, but I have a hard time imagining that you wouldn't end up with a key for each of the different tiers if you started by paying $1, then increased your payment to your BTA, and finally increased it again to the top tier (assuming you wanted it). I don't think they'd be able to add games to your existing key, or rescind the key and give you a new one that covers all the games you've bought.

You'd still have a single key for each tier, which is still absolute crap, but if you wanted the top tier but not the BTA, for instance, you might be able to sell/give away those games that way.

Ordinarily, that might be a plausible plan. But it's impossible to increase your payment total for the THQ Nordic bundle. So that won't work in this case.

Played through Event[0] last night. Only about 2.5 hours for a single playthrough. Usually I don't mind if a game runs short, but in this case the ending does feel abrupt. That said, the atmosphere is strong, the narrative is intriguing, and the puzzles are genuinely challenging for the most part. Outside of the length, my other gripe was that the AI was a bit clunky to talk to. Sometimes it answers your questions on the first try and you start to feel like you're having a legitimate discussion which leads to some neat moments. Other times it'll respond to you with unrelated nonsense. The sense of freedom in that regard does feel kind of phony, and in the end I probably enjoyed the AI from Talos Principle more, even though that game used pre-written multiple-choice dialogue. Also, despite not being a visual powerhouse, Event[0] is the first game to push my GPU over 80 C. It's like I'm playing FurMark. Seems to be a common issue.

Overall though, I found it to be a decent, ambitious adventure/exploration game.

y u no get Dirt Rally when it glitched?

If no one wants their tumblestone key, let me know and maybe we can trade keys or I can pay for it
I've got a spare I'd trade for keys or 99c cash. I am the best deal making cat ever though. Everyone says so. Just forewarning you that I drive a hard bargain. I didn't pay someone to write The Art of the Deal and put my name on it for nothing.
