This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

While I certainly don't LOVE the name change, it's definitely a step up from what they had!

That's generally the case historically. But Halloween isn't typically in that discussion. The games Ive bought on Halloween the past years, discounts didnt change in the Fall or Winter.

$20 on day 1 would have never happened. $30 would've been fine, but the dev got greedy. It's not just the list price that was a mistake though, it's them being cheap asses with licensing. DBD managed to get all of the major licensed characters so far while F13 only has Jason.

DBD has Michael, Leatherface, and now Freddy lol. At the very least F13 could have had Freddy added, fits more with F13 than DBD.

I don't see what Twitch would have to do with it. It's a unique horror MP game, those are hard to come by and hardly any have been successful aside from DBD and F13. It feeds a niche.

It's the kind of game where if you had any interest in it, you would have bought it by now, even at $40. I would have, but I didn't want it to run like crap on my PC and have been too lazy to upgrade. That, and I don't have any friends that play it. If you have friends that play, it definitely seems worth it.

Friday the 13th being about the guy from Friday the 13th doesn't seem especially surprising.

Good on DBD for getting the others although I guess that well will run dry pretty soon.  What other notable killers are there, especially in the "Nubile teenagers lost in the woods" 80s Slasher genre?  Can't wait for, uh, Terror Train Kenny (more Jamie Lee Curtis DLC!) or that guy from Silent Night, Deadly Night.

Freddy has had a crossover with the F13 franchise before, so it's surprising that DBD got him while F13 didn't. People have been asking for Freddy to be added to F13 for a while. I think they easily could have added him, but they cheaped out and didn't want to pay for the licensing.

What's that other Teenager/Killer game that was being worked on?  The one in the high school?  Ok, just looked it up -- "Last Year" and it supposedly went into beta in August 2017 according to the website FAQ but I don't know if that's true.

Those guys won't have any licensed DLC characters left.  It'll be Last Night, starring the Ghoulies.

Leatherface maybe? Evil Dead could be good fun. Creepy Hills Have Eyes mutants? There are lots of options. Plus they could, you know, create their own.

True enough. I was referring more to the idea that DBD is scoring a coup with their licensed killers. I was going to make mention of staying within genre or true to the killer but, looking it up, it seems like Freddy is basically a guy with a sweater and knife-glove chasing after kids through the corn grass -- obviously he wasn't going to entering dreams and subverting them into murder.

Just wait five years when all the licenses expire and the DBD killers are replaced with solid black rectangles!

You mean Bethesda? It's on THEM to deliver the keys. AMD have no power to generate Steam keys, only the publisher does. We don't know when AMD received the keys in the first place.

At any rate, AMD Support says they'll be available tomorrow. No timeframe, just the 27th.

It very easily could've been Bethesda's decision not to deliver keys early for a free promotion.

I don't care how you twist or shift it. I mean, if Walmart doesn't have the Bravia tv in stock that I want, I don't get pissed at Sony. AMD needs to show some initiative on the part of the people who bought their product with the expectation of receiving this included item, in a timely matter, as in when everyone else in the world already has access to it, and get those mother fuck ing keys out!

Full disclosure, I really don't care when it arrives, I just like to stir the pot. Mario will have my full attention for this weekend.

 
FYI, AC Origins is packed in with a bunch of different promos now. There's an ASUS one that's been going for a bit, but its also being packed in with Samsung SSDs (like Watch Dogs 2 was) as well as some Intel CPUs.

I got one for $25 a few nights ago from the ASUS one, but they seem to be available more widely as most of the promotions probably had date locks on them like ASUS did. There's quite a few on Steam Game Swap (Reddit) and I haven't checked Ebay or Steamtrades.

Since ARK is on sale at the moment, I was eyeing the review section and couldn't help but laugh out loud at some of the reviews. Sound like griefer's galore if you don't play on private server or u just have to be jobless & play ARK 24/7

- Chased down by a three men riding Tyrannosaurs because I tried harvesting fiber on "their beach"
- Tranquilized with a scoped rifle, handcuffed, siphoned for my blood and left on a raft floating in the middle of the ocean
- Tamed my first dinosaur, logged off for a grand total of an hour and logged back in to find both my beloved parasaur and everything I'd made from cloth and wood stolen, burned to the ground, etc.
- Tranq'd (again) after I logged on, regained consciousness only to find my inventory stuffed with dinosaur poop.
- Had my entire box of berries and (albeit stolen) eggs raided and replaced with large dinosaur poop.
- Finally, and I mean FINALLY got to the point where I'd made a friend and we'd built a small base together near a waterfall off of the tundra. Left for maybe 10 minutes to tame some pterosaurs so we could fly, and returned to find the server admin astride a massive bronto smashing everything we owned because "it was his waterfall"

 
I kinda expected more of the Telltale games to go on a discount, but nope. Where's Monkey Island? IT HAS A FRIGGIN GHOST, COME ON!
