Then where’s my Rogue Squadron HD remake dammit?!?!
System faltered before they could churn out more than a couple Zeldas. Would've liked to see Super Mario Sunshine and F-Zero GX. Metroid Prime as well, though it might not have happened with the Wii remake.

Purchased myself a Wii U for Christmas last year for 200 bucks.  Sometimes I wish I had just waited and got a Switch but I'm pretty happy with it.  Its pretty easy to gather the dozen or so of must haves for the system and those gems really do shine.  Off screen play is great when my wife is watching or playing something on the xbox.  Breath of the Wild is just as good on Wii U too.

When you buy Xbox gift cards from stores other then Microsoft and use it to buy games does that still earn you Xbox reward points and go twords raising your my vip level? Thanks

After seeing the incredible job EA did with Madden on the X, I'm really tempted to bite on Battlefront 2 and NFS Payback. I returned some blu rays off my shelf that were unopened to Best Buy to take advantage of their post-Christmas return policy to get some XBL credit. But don't worry, everything did legitimately come from BB and still had their stickers on them.

So someone remind me again (looking at you awp) that these are worth it and that they look amazing on the X. Are the takedowns that they show in the trailer a big part of the gameplay because as a big Burnout guy I've been missing that big time.

No, please keep talking about it. I've been thinking of getting a Wii U for a while and this sale might push me over.
Especially if you're a Nintendo fan there is at least 20-30 must own games for the Wii U. I don't regret my purchase of the system at launch one bit.
I Too will chime in on the WiiU love....

That's how I am catching up on my Nintendo backlog. Beat Ninja Gaiden 3, next up is Super Mario RPG, leading to Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time.

And I love playing Super Mario Maker. That game never gets old.

From what I understand, Payback doesn't have quite the level of mayhem that classic Burnout titles had. I do see a lot of articles comparing the two, and it sounds like this is the most Burnout-like of recent games.

The big warning for both games is the lootboxes. Both games were part of EA's plan to bring "ultimate team" to other franchsises and both games severly gimped progression to incentivise buying lootboxes. Having played quite a bit of BF2, I can tell you the grind is real. There are a few easy challenges and a nice chunk of credits for breezing through the campaign, but once you run out of challenges to tick off the credits barely trickle in. I still enjoy my time in the "online star wars casino," but the game could have been so much better without MTX.

Does anyone know of a good Mario Kart type racer for xbox one with multiplayer on live?  I was looking at Beach Buggy Racing and that seems to be what I am looking for but it does not have multiplayer over live.

Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed is backwards compatible and closest you'll get to a Mario Kart experience on XBox.

For Battlefront 2, it looks amazing on the X. I personally love the game simply because I adore space combat and it has some of the best dogfighting I’ve ever played (ironically by the ex Burnout devs). Campaign is mediocre at best. And your mileage may vary based on how much you hate the whole loot box thing. Doesn’t bother me enough to deter me from playing because I love the gameplay. I’m not the best at the game but I have a blast and that’s what matters most to me.

NFS Payback doesn’t have as huge of an upgrade on the X. Still looks good enough but does have some weird bugs that aren’t related to the X.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a whole lot of “Burnout” style racing. Most of the races that have takedowns are part of the story and are just here and there. You take down cops and the bad guys in those.

There ARE a lot of stunts in it though. Tons of huge jumps if you like that kind of stuff.

I absolutely hated the progression even more than Battlefront 2 at first because not only are their cards tied to luck, it impacts the campaign itself. And even playing the EA Access Trial I hit a wall where I couldn’t upgrade my cars enough to compete. But complaints about it forced a change and it is much better now and I have had no issues with getting to the level required for races. If anything, I can get my cars well above the requirements making it too easy if I wanted to.

NFS has an open world that takes it more in the Forza Horizon direction. Just not nearly as good. Still fun arcade racing for my liking. And having paid $30 for it, I’m happy with it.

I ended up switching to Covenant after the Exodus meltdown. It's the exact same thing. If you have issues installing Exodus, just get Covenant instead.

Thanks guys!

The holiday sale, the games say the sale has 7 days left. So everything will still be on sale next friday or will it cut off as Thursday hits midnight into Friday?

Wow, surprised to see so many people here like the WiiU.  I got mine for free and would've been pissed if I had spent money to get it.  There are some decent games, but I think the system itself sucks.  The Switch does what the WiiU should have.

Bonus, you say? Is that store wide or only for Elite yada yada? Didn't see anything about a trade percent bonus on the website at the moment.
There are 3 ways to currently get 50%/60%/70% trade boost for basic (or no PUR)/pro/elite respectively.

1) if you made an in store (no confirmation about online purchases) purchase the week before Christmas your receipt has a generic EBC code that is good for the boost.

2) if you have >= 6500 PUR rewards points you can use the points to purchase a certificate for the equivalent boost

3) Apparently if you live in the state of California you get it by default.

Also running is a B2G1 sale (also available online), but pickin's is slim as it is post holiday.

Edit: both deals end 12/31/2017

Alright, got my 1X today and have a question. Since I don't remember ever pre-downloading any 4K content on my 1S for the enhanced games I own, how do I download those assets from the X?

The only game that required a patch was Gears 4. Not Dishonored 2, Wolfenstein II, Titanfall 2 or Injustice 2 (though I think that's because I2 only adds HDR and no 4K).

I am missing something here or......?

There is no option. You selected to download 4k assets by purchasing an X. Unfortunately yes this will make all enhanced games take up more space.

I just went through this last week. It's very frustrating. You can't go by the updates tab under games and apps, you just have to start a game to see if there's an update. I already had a 107 GB version of GoW4 on my S for example but about 3/4 of the ones I have checked prompted that an update was needed before I could play on the X.

Just bought most of the Fallout New Vegas DLC, I say most because there are 2 DLC -
Fallout: New Vegas - Lonesome Road
Fallout: New Vegas - Dead Money

These did not drop the same as America. America got a 50% drop and Australia only got 20%, that sucks.

EDIT:  What is weirder is every other time the DLC has been on sale, the discount has been the same.

I'm having an issue with my 1X.  I have two externals connected to it.  I moved one of them briefly but did not disconnect it and the 1X seemed to think it was disconnected.  So I unplugged it and then plugged it back it and then all of a sudden my install section went up to 128 games.  Under the games tab it recognizes that I have those game on the external hard drive.  But now when I purchase a new game (e.g. a GWG game or just a game in general), that number does not go up on the install section and is seemingly stuck at 128 games.  Now I have to go to the Xbox store on the console, search for the game I purchased and install it from there.  Any idea how to fix this problem?  Thanks in advance for any advice.

Try restarting the console? Had that happen to my S after transferring everything over to my new external. Hitting restart console fixed it for me.

Does anyone know of a good Mario Kart type racer for xbox one with multiplayer on live? I was looking at Beach Buggy Racing and that seems to be what I am looking for but it does not have multiplayer over live.
Speaking of which I friggin miss Blur and Split Second. Midnight Club is another one that my ex-girlfriend and I use to play a lot.

Little preview of what I have racked up so far for my giveaway. I still have more codes to go through though.

xb1: 2 day golds

        Battlefield Hardline gold packs

        Gold Gorgos Killer Instinct Costume

XB360: COD Black Ops First Strike Pack

             Gears of War 1

             Gears of War 2

             Gears of War 3

             Gears of War Judgement

PS4: Battlefield Hardline Gold Packs

         7 day PS Plus codes

30 PS Plus day trials (one use per account I believe)

Switch:  Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle Pixel weapon Pack (need to check with the ball and chain on this one, she                      may have redeemed it)

I'll hopefully have time to check them all by Monday night then put them out around Tuesday. Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe New Years Eve!

Have to say one more thing about the Wii U. The GamePad is pretty sweet when you’re bored with what the wife is watching. Wouldn’t play BoTW on it — rather have the epic sense of scale on the big screen. But playing a Mario game sure is nice.

I think I've got the gist of it. Booted up The Witcher 3 ans noticed the 4K and Performance modes. Boy, my eyes almost exploded, and I'm on a 1080p TV.

Hell, even Life is Strange Before the Storm in High Framerate mode makes the game run smooth as hell.
