There's a demo/trial for it. I played for like 10min and quit myself. Super dark, lots of platforming jumps and puzzles, move a lever here, open a door there... Run before door closes again...meh

It's super easy. Though you generally need to do it twice, once to create it and then again to beat it. I don't remember if you actually have to beat it, though I just create a speed trap one with a slow speed, then run it again as fast as I can.

Cracked Tier 9 in Forza rewards. An extra 50k a week in the newer games. Though I wish it was that much in FH1, since one of the achievements I still need is the medals in million dollar cars, and I don't want to sell stuff I already have to afford another car.

FM7 is gifting a snowman driving suit. Logged in last night and there was a news message about it and a message in gifts to download it.

Still 2 achievements into Day 11 on TA. May just run through Refunct for the quick main story achievements. Visiting friends over the weekend, so I may fall short. Going to take my XB1 HDD, so I might be able to squeeze out Day 12. Also need to do the Juvie Horde in Gears 4.

They both have their advantages. I'd say if PUBG was on the PC full release schedule with the extra map, bug fixes and a locked 30fps performance it would be the better pick. Sadly PUBG is in a buggy state, though they are patching it once a week so over time it should be a much, much better product.

If you never tried a battle royal game before Fortnite is free and free is always good. Don't know when they are adding the free trial to PUBG. I'm assuming when sales start to slow down on X1, if they ever do. Heard It's already over 4+ million on the XBox.

I just want to point out that you used the terms "realistic" and "shield potions" in the same sentence when referring to Fortnite. :)

By the way, I am an avid Fortnite player and have never touched the Battle Royale mode. I highly recommend the game for anyone on the fence. It's a lot of fun and highly addicting on the "Save the world" side of it. One day i'll get around to trying out the Battle Royale stuff, I guess.

 
FYI - I thought we got the license for Goat Simulator for watching the Game Awards Show but this is not the case. I dl'ed the game and tried to play it but it stated to renew my gold sub. Below is the answer from the General Sales and Promotions Forum:

- if you have redeemed Goat Simulator on Games with Gold you would not receive the game for the TGA MixPot. Hope this helps!

I guess this makes sense to me because I did not have Goat Simulator from GWG, but I did receive and subsequently download it as part of the Game awards mix pot. I thought Bloomy posted somethimg similar shortly after the Game Awards, but I could be wrong.

I think most of us assumed we got it because it was on our "Ready to Install" list but that was from GwG. I thought we would get the license for it so we wouldn't have to have Gold to play it. No biggee.

Realistic was referring to PUBG while shield potions were referencing Fortnite BR.

Uhh...you might want to read that again. He said that PUBG was "realistic" and listed its features...including armor. He then added an aside about Fortnite having "shield potions"...as a direct comparison to PUBG's armor. So, most definitely not both referring to Fortnite.

 
Is anyone else having trouble in FM7 with the 2nd challenge in the Forza World Tour Forzathon where you have to go at least 120 mph in the Bel Air? I've done it three times now and I know the progress has been borked since they unlocked Forzathon but they have all eventually popped (usually after exiting and restarting the game) except this one. I did it for the first time yesterday and now twice today.

How is the exploration/ scavenging aspect in Fortnite? Is it fun or more of a chore? Something similar to Minecraft or Fallout 4 in terms of gathering resources but occasionally finding better loot? And I’m assuming there’s no way to play offline alone or keep the fort you build outside of the multiplayer game progression? Wish there were more scavenging, base building games out there that allowed you to build offline but had strong AI enemies.

I may have mentioned that it was a GwG title, but I hadn't considered the fact that the GwG license that only applies when you've got active Gold would've superceded the permanent ownership that the Mixpot would've given. I don't forsee myself giving up Gold anytime soon, even by the time I get to the game in my backlog.

I haven't tried that one yet, though in my experience, you don't need to exit and restart to get the progress to show up, just complete a different challenge task. Sucks how they word it, where they call the tasks "challenges" to pop the Xbox "challenge" (and win something). But if you complete 3 laps in Prague toward Coming to Town, then complete 3 laps on Brands Hatch in a British car toward Forza World Tour 1, the Prague completion should show up without needing to exit the game. The challenge will also pop before the Forzathon progress gets updated, though you might not receive the prize until completing another task. It was weird last night, one challenge granted the car during the post race screens after I popped it, but a different challenge made me wait until after I completed a different task and the Forzathon progress updated. One time I completed 2 tasks at the same time, one task updated while the other needed another completed task to update.

Hopping between different challenges works to update progress, but I don't know if it will work within the same challenge. Would be worth testing if going to Suzuka with the needed Honda will update the 120mph at Homestead. I might do that tonight, since I've already completed the other 3 active challenges.

I would just buy them all, if you can. An even better deal is to find the GOTY versions, which were recently reprinted in Xbox One boxes and were selling for around $10 a piece at Walmart on BF. Each DLC adds new locations and enemies that make them worth it. The very best are probably Point Lookout and probably Lonesome Road (debatable but it gives you the true ending for the game).

Yeah they're always so finicky but it's best to do a race afterwards using freeplay of course. You don't even have to do a race, just load up another race and then quit.

Yeah you'll like doing it a few times and it can be a lot of fun to explore and find weapon/item chests hidden in buildings. It'll get a bit repetitive later on (not a big bother to me, a big Borderlands fan and all), you'll see the free to play angle but if you run missions in between you're on you should have plenty of materials to keep you good and ready to just build up fortifications/your base. Fortnite is online centric but it is a good tower defense kind of game too with a bunch of RPG elements/skill tree.

Unless you're 100% intent on digital, this is the correct answer. I do prefer digital for 360 stuff on X1, but the price/value is night and day. I also figure, these single player games you can spend 100 hours on, you won't be swapping discs very often compared to a game like Overwatch or Destiny where you want it ready to go to play on a regular basis.

 
I was talking about Fallout New Vegas DLC from the Game of Year edition before and I think I might have sold it lol, looks like I will be buying the DLC while on sale.

Just curious, the DLC in the complete edition was on disc right?

Both Fallout 3 / New Vegas have them on disc, yeah. On 360, you install them all to storage with the second disk and play off the first (Arkham City and Borderlands 2 work the same way).

For BC games, you use the second disc to trigger the install and use that to play, or else the vanilla first disc won't have licensing for the DLC.

The weird feeling in realizing if the game were to come out now these would totally be loot crate items.

And playing the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare campaign and that is a damn fun campaign. It's fun being in space and yelling "GET OVER HERE!" as you use a grappling hook to grab someone and snap their neck.

 
Finally done with downloading everything on the xbox. Got a 4tb external hd for Christmas, and downloaded everything but 25 games off my Ready to Install list. The ones left are all either 360 duplicates of One games, or garbage like Pool Nation and Monaco that I'd never play. 271 games installed lol.

Didn't know there was an issue. Just was watching people play it on mixer last night and thought it looked good since I like base/home/fortfication building in games.

And for anyone playing Elite Dangerous, if you go to their website and go into the store there's a few free customization items you can get. Flight suits, ship decals, and two eye glasses.

So I got my Wii U and was setting it up only to find that I want to fucking kill my 18-year-old. He had borrowed our old Wii to put is his room. Fine. Admittedly I hadn’t used it in years. But part of my rationalization for getting a cheap Wii U is that we could play our old Wii games on it.

The kid had wiped out the entire system to put homebrew on it, deleting all of our Miis, game saves and downloaded games from the virtual console!!

I can’t even get my account information (which oddly does not seem to be associated with my most used email address) to recover the digital games.

Even more than the fact that it’s gone is that the asshole didn’t ask! He never asks. He just takes and takes and takes. It was never just “his” Wii.

Oh Millennials are going to be the death of us....

Ughh, that sucks awp. The Wii never had any good account system for recovery. The Wii U uses the Nintendo network ID system but even then, you have to call Nintendo and get them to transfer the activation to a new system. safe to say, the Wii games are long gone, even though modding doesn't require a system reset. I would be pissed too.
 
When the deals are hot, it’s easy to accumulate some games. A shit load of games.

How do you ever decide what to play? What to graze on and what to finish?

Games are so long now (despite concerns they would get short), and they add content to the best ones for years sometimes.

How do I stop swapping from Tomb Raider, The New Order, Mordor, Destiny, and just finish one of these bad boys?
