Well, game pass got me. Finally used my 14 day free trial because I wanted to play mega man this weekend. Decided I will pick it up next time it goes on sale. But decided to finally try braid... Gotta buy that now too. Darksiders, yeah. Shouldve bought it on sale last week.

I don't think it's heated, I think everyone one is justified. I think it's fine to be a proud parent, I think it's fine to feel noble about adoption, I think it's fine to worry about over population and choose not to have kids, I think it's fine to be selfish and not have kids so you can play more video games or travel, I know people in real life in all of these categories and we still get along. Just like how we all love different video games, we all have different opinions on children.

I think we can all agree that the Xbox One X is sexy. I'm super happy with this thing. Microsoft really did a great job. Now I just need them to make me some more exclusives.

Agree on all points man. That's what makes life interesting and wonderful. That we are all different and enjoy different things. I have friends with no kids and we are great friends and enjoy a good time together.

Xbox One X is damn sexy. Really wanting to trade my other Xbox One S for an X. Especially now that I got a third 4K TV.

Thanks everyone, this helped very much. I went with Batman, as I do play plenty of Overwatch online (XB1/PS4/PC, XB1 mostly), and COD WWII / BO3 (PS4) currently. Since TF2 campaign is short, really don't see a point paying that much unless I spend more time on another multiplayer game (the base game is and has been cheaper recently I know).

edit: and ubiquetous, you are right. Though in my case a single month would be enough to just do the TF2 campaign, some multiplayer and try out a few other games.

My kids are 8 (son) and 10 (daughter) now and they both like playing games. My daughter started playing Overwatch when it launched and she's actually gotten pretty good at it.

The struggle is real. It started with watching Pat and Jen play Minecraft, now it's Guava Juice, Dude Perfect, etc. The worst by far is Funnelvision. Thank God they're not Logan Paul fans.

I know a lot of people like you and I completely get it. People are different and that's okay. There are certainly a lot of parents who should have thought a little harder about whether it was something they actually wanted (and were ready) to do.

on the "kid's gaming" topic, reminder that the Copilot feature came out last year which links two controllers to act like one. Useful if they're new to gaming or stuck on something. If it's a racing game, you can control gas/brake while they control steering or any other ideas like that.

Wondering if I could get the Forza 7 hoonigan car pack if it was available. Hope everyone had a great holidays and a happy new year. Don't really know if I'm too late to the party but just to throw my 2 cents in, Hello Neighbor is a game I've been playing with my kids recently. They get all nervous when the neighbor starts to chase your character in the game. My 7 yr old is the old who really gets into it though, she's the only one that is like me lol

Wow, I didn’t know that feature existed. That’s pretty awesome. Definitely gonna give it a shot
 
Honestly I'm excited to at least give the Paladins mode a try, I liked the game and it's a different setting for sure with the fantasy/magic/mount stuff

I actually typed a huge paragraph full of profanity after I read the "already overpopulated world" comment, but I'll keep that rant to myself. Probably for the best. What a shitty thing to say about someone's children though in a forum that's about friends and video games. Shame on you.

I took those posts as people being supremely disappointed that their kids are into those YouTube personalities. They are a sign of a huge decline in society.

A quick OT question for those that are using the Movie Pass service. Has it become a better experience? Are there still any major gripes with the service? My wife just found out about it and is excited to sign up, especially with the number of movies we've seen in the last month.

What’s sad is along the numerous congrats, the hate came from one or two people and they got all the attention. Currently what’s wrong with our culture. Post a video of a dead person that offends, get mad attention which is why these people exists and thrive on. Let’s go back to the 80’s or some other time where we just ignored these hateful dudes. Yes, requisite good ole days post.

I’ve had no issues with the service since I got my card. It took a while to get it and there were app issues before I got it, but no problems for me. It works great.

In my area there are no theaters with reserved seating, except for RPX and IMAX, both of which you can’t use Movie Pass for anyway. So for me, I have to go to the theater and once I’m within 100 yards of it, I press “Check In”, it loads the card with the ticket amount and I use it for the ticket. Never had a theater decline it.

I haven’t used it as much as I’d like but if you see at least two movies a month, it’s well worth it IMO.

It looks like you can use MP for reserved seating at theaters where it is supported:

Correct. I just don’t have any eligible theaters with reserved seating. IMAX is off limits and so is RPX (Regal’s higher priced “premium” theaters). But those are the only two I can’t go to.
Plenty of other theaters for me. Just none with reserved seats.

Personally i like that people are gravitating to "youtube personalities" rather then the way its been for the past 30 years of people just regurgitating what they see on TV. More voices and being exposed to more voices is a good thing IMO. Getting your information from one or two sources with all the money in the world is very dangerous and we are now seeing the issues with it.

This has probably nothing to do with why you feel the way you do, but I like to think this is a step in the right direction.

I guess my problem is with the actual personalities. In reality all that my kids are watching is marketing disguised as entertainment.

I'm pretty sure 98% of YouTube personalities are just horrible garbage people. The other 0.5% are passable humans and the other 1.5% are cute animals.

I've been using it for a couple of months. Easy to use. Usually load right at the theater. Card came with in ten business days.

Only had issues with app very early on. Most of those problems were before I got the service, when I was trying to decide if it would work in my locale.

Used it on vacation 3000 miles away from home without an issue. It was a sweet home theater style setup with a fire place in the theater and the movie posters were animated like the pictures at hogwarts.

I often use it at a theater that's part of the Regal chain and swipe my rewards card when I go. I've racked up enough points for 2 free movies, but since I have moviepass I'll probably use them for free snacks.

Also thinking of combining with Sony Rewards as that has rewards for seeing movies on their list. So even if I didn't want to see one of those movies (*cough* Jumanji *cough*), I'd just use Moviepass to buy a ticket at a Regal theater, swipe my card for regal rewards, scan the purchased ticket for Sony rewards, and then go home with out wasting 2 hours watching some god awful movie.

It's great too if you want to see a movie a second time. And there are a number of independent theaters near me that do classic films, or theaters that show more artstic films, or foreign films and they all accept movie pass.

Oh and you can use it for Fathom events. Movie theatre showings of opera, ballet, anime, directors cuts, classic movies, etc.

But like any subscription service it's only worth it if you keep using it.

No doubt that's what most of these gamer channels are, but isnt everything just marketing disguised as entertainment/news/etc? Marketing is what makes the world go round.

You are on the wrong part's of youtube then. There are plenty of quality channels out there that have great teams, and do outstanding research and journalism.
