Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Is it surprising that the price is going up? With big exclusives hitting the day they release, makes sense.

I’ve seen somewhere that those gamepass cards just redeem as xbox currency and that price is probably to cover tax. Amazon sells three different ones at 9.99, 10.99 and 11.99.

This makes sense since you are able to purchase gamepass with MicroBucks

I just had the idea that with my good fortune with the Freedom Rewards contest I'm going to pay it forward a bit and figure out a way to give away one of the codes I won. Not today mind you, with the spirit of the Daytona 500 contest it will likely be in a month's time for WrestleMania 34. If they do the Andre Battle Royal again that'll be the way.

Speaking of giving away, anyone actually play warframe? I got 75 platinum for the January reward and I don’t suspect I’ll play that game anytime soon. I’d prefer to give it away to someone who posts.

I do! Well, I've played it a lot and been dabbling with each content drop. Related, does anyone actually play Crossout? I have 350 coins to give away.

Is borderlands 1 the only game that includes the DLC when played on an xbox one? really nice to get the dlc included and was hoping some others work the same way

I have a one month Game Pass code that is for new subscribers only, so I’m unable to use it. PM me if you’d like it.

Edit: Gone!

Grrrr. I screwed up my 10 game win streak on hard difficulty for Rugby 15. BTW controls on Rugby 15 are quite lackluster.

Also, if you play Smite pm me. I have 400 gems I probably won't use. Regular contributors get prioity, but no one is excluded.

Sooo...how many of you are aware the new Tomb Raider movie is out next week? I Only know because I checked last week and am kinda amazed by the lack of hype going into this movie coming out so soon.

I knew it was coming out soon, but I didn't know it was this coming weekend. A Wrinkle in Time also releases this coming weekend, and I think it will crush TR...

Actually two'ish weeks. The 16th, but yeah, I think I've only seen the trailer once in theaters and I don't think I ever saw the second trailer.

5% chance I pick up NFS Payback Deluxe at the $32 price...but I can't tell if the "Upcoming" Story Mission Pack included is the same thing as the Speedcross story.  Can anyone w/ background on this title confirm?  In the age of DLC, who knows how much DLC they have planned...

The next several weeks will give my Movie Pass card a workout:

3/9 - A Wrinkle in Time

3/16 - Tomb Raider

3/23 - Pacific Rim Uprising

The trailers for Pacific Rim Uprising haven't been that...inspiring. I Loved the first movie because it was legit big ass fucking robots, but the trailers for the sequel seem to lack that sense of scale that made the first one so great and the visuals mixed with that 2Pac "Untouchable" remix just make it super jarring . Hopefully the actual movie improves on that, but I'm hesitant especially without Oscar winning director Guillermo Del Toro behind the helm,

Uprising looks like a fucking Transformers movie. Does not look anything as good as the first movie.
While I share your concerns, this will not stop me from seeing the movie at least once and for pre-ordering the 4K SB edition that I hope will be announced at Best Buy soon.

I keep contemplating movie pass, especially when there's a bunch of movies coming up I'd even somewhat consider seeing. There were 2 or 3 Oscar nominees I was interested in that I would've definitely seen if I had the pass to get me motivated. Even if I only see one movie a month it'd save $2 or $3 over regular prices.

As for games, I finally tried out sea of thieves for like 30 minutes after being able to since the alpha. It is most definitely a game to play with other people, I was just messing around and couldn't really handle a small ship alone.

Is anyone else having trouble opening apps? I try to open the VRV app and it crashes back to the home screen. I uninstall/reinstall it and while I'm trying to sign in my console powers down. I power it back on and the app continues to crash, even after uninstalling/reinstalling again.

Xbox One X in the Alpha Ring of the Preview Program.
I see I'm not the only one that is seeing this. I tired deleting and reinstalling and nothing. Did a hard reset and again nothing. Posted a message on FB and MS FB page as well. I'm like uhh...they need to get this fixed. Laid Back Camp and A Place Further Than The Universe are coming....

I'm looking forward to ready player one. Great book.

One a side note. I just been hit with a game breaking glitch on mad Max. Of course it's after ive spent about 40 hours on it. One of my final camps you had to blow up 7 oil rigs. I destroyed them all and it only counted 6 of them. So now I can't finish the camp. So I will miss out on about 7 achievements now. I'm not an achievement hunter that I have to complete a game 100 perecnt but I like to get the ones I can get on a single play through and have been working on these ones.

The only fix is to start over. I recommend you save before going into the main camps especially the wheel Gunner oil camp in pink eyes territory.

Started Super Lucky's Tale this morning. Played a lot of 3D platformers way back when, so it's got a lot of nostalgia appeal, even if it's more deliberately kid-friendly than a game like Mario 64.

There are 2D levels, though, similar to how Mario Galaxy puts Mario on a 2D plane every now and then, and after playing a ton of Mega Man and Rayman, Lucky is a lot less precise despite having a ledge grab and a double jump, and it was a little frustrating.

Can anyone recommend Castlestorm or Chariot? I see them getting mentioned a lot for local co-op and have them both thanks to GWG.

MoviePass is an excellent concept but has some serious flaws. Like, my wife and I can’t go to the movies between 6-8:30pm because the app will crap out and not work at all for us. I don’t know if it’s overloaded servers or what not. And customer service does not exist on the app, don’t even try the help chat. So, I’ve had to be refunded 3 times already for tickets I had to buy out of pocket.

When it works it’s freaking amazing, it just doesn’t work all the time.

Interesting. I’ve been using it regularly and never have had any issues checking in. Absolutely amazing deal and love having it.

Well, I’m glad to hear it’s not everyone. Hopefully we get it ironed out for my wife and I. It’s seriously funny/infuriating to open the app and see a JSON error message pop up. Haha

Chariot became a chore pretty quickly and I stopped playing it. Castlestorm is a glorified cell phone game, I didn't like it, but people I know enjoyed it quite a bit.

Be absolutely sure about this before assuming it's a glitch. I had this happen once or twice and I was sure it was a glitch and it ended up being something extremely obscure in the game. I consider myself pretty thorough and combed through things quite a bit and then found similar complaints online and some videos that gave me a different perspective that was eye opening. Of course, you could simply be screwed. If so, i'm very sorry. That's an awful feeling whether it's 1 hour of gameplay lost or 100 hours.

Good luck on the "collect 100k coins" achievement I'm 3/4ths done and sitting at 14k coins.Alot of times I've died due to misjudging my jump and it happens a bit too often. As for a game I'd recommend the bug butcher give it a try and you will like it or your gf.

Does SLT come w/ the dlc on gamepass? That's an achievement from the add-on

Yeah I'm sure. I've gone back about 6 times. Destroyed every one. I counted the dead pumps. I've destroyed all 7 of them. Apparently it's a common glitch. I typed in the name of the camp online and about 15 other people complaining about the same thing. It actually effects getting 11 achievements. Bummer. Oh well. Pretty messed up they didn't fix it

well damn. Thanks. I'll be going up there tomorrow. I'd like a digital copy but can't argue with that price.
I originally snagged a physical copy of MCC from Best Buy for $6 ($24 with gcu + tax - $20 in MyRewards certs). Then I stumbled across a digital copy in the Xbox marketplace thread for $10, so traded my physical copy in for $27.50.

But yes, finding MCC <= $20 is tough. Physical or digital. < $30 is more doable.

I haven't tried either in co-op but neither hooked me solo.

I have been trying to get non gamer into it and she bit hard on The Cave(backwards compatible) my other BC recommendations as I think we covered most XB1, would be Ilo Milo and Battleblock Theatre(from the Castle Crasher guys)

I love Battleblock Theater. I've started it twice (once solo, once in co-op) but it's been awhile. I think the GF would like it after we finish Castle Crashers, especially since the art/humor will be familiar.

Chariot became a chore pretty quickly and I stopped playing it. Castlestorm is a glorified cell phone game, I didn't like it, but people I know enjoyed it quite a bit.
Maybe I'll save these for "literally nothing else to try."

Nice avatar btw, Ghost is rad.
