What do I need to trade in an older console?​

the console, power cable, av cable, and controller; sometimes they don't care about USB charge cable but ymmv. 3ds xl trade would be console, charger, stylus. Some have reported being charged refurb fee for a stylus, but again ymmv (answer stolen from anarchyburger)​

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO

ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.

GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.

I'm wondering if the extra $5 towards a pre-order has to be a new pre-order or can it be towards an existing preorder?  The base value of the game must be $2 or more.

My hesitation was that I may not actually be able to get there until the afternoon, which may be a bridge too far depending on the store.
 
The stores around me mark the online holds as unavailable if it’s their last copy. They also mark them unavailable if they’re busy. They also mark them unavailable if they’re lazy.

I’ve been able to fulfil around 5% of online holds I’ve tried to place.

That sucks. My local store is usually awesome at them but it is a smaller volume location. They even hold their last items like the switch dock set i just got. I believe that they wont do funko pops or new release preowned titles

Super this. The stores around me don't even try, they usually just sent holds automatically. It's really frustrating.

Couple times gone in for a pick up. Got email that told me the items are ready for pick up. I get there and they can't find it.

Well poop. Part of me doesn't think they would scrap a promotion they've already printed and distributed dated material for, but this is Gamestop we're talking about, which is currently the definition of a rudderless ship.

Do you all know if southwest gift cards are still fair game? I have a trip coming up and could use some of the Southwest gift cards.

I’m trying to build up credit to buy some for flights to SLC for a Yellowstone trip next summer. Watch GS pull the rug out from under me like BB did with my plan to turn credit into Disney gift cards this year. 😂
 
70% trade bonus is in the marketing promo but it hasn't been announced when it will go live yet. I talked with one of the mangers today on it.

Managed to move some gamestop credit over to BB with the b2g1. Only problem i just noticed is they had doubled up one of my games i trade and i know it would have put me over the 3 trade limit. May get hit with a trade ban or not, i know its kind of random when ever they push that.

Okay, so I haven't been in here for a while...two questions:

1. Does anybody know if/how the guaranteed $20 promo would work with the $5 bonus, particularly when trading in multiple games (some on the $20 list, some not)?

2. What in the world happened with blackbeard and the spreadsheet?

Is it worth putting the effort in to do flips with the 50%? I know this type of question is usually frowned upon but I’m in the middle of crisis trying to figure out if it’s worth it lol

Keep in mind that it's really only 20% more than you would get normally, and you have to buy a currency card to get it. So I'd say not unless you're doing all big trades.

 
Does anyone know if there was a Painkiller PS3 reprint?

I was grabbing a few games for the 4 for $20 deal and found a copy that looks like one of the brand new game converted to used thing they do. And I know it hasn't been there recently.

 
Does anyone here know if the 4 for $20 sale would apply to 3x $9.99 games and 1x $14.99 game if I have them scan a $5 off preowned game PUR coupon?  The coupon should drop the price of the $14.99 game to $9.99 so I think in theory it should work, I was just wondering if anyone here can confirm. I'm pretty sure if they manual override the price of a game down to $9.99 it would work with the sale, but again I am not sure if the PUR coupon would work with it.  Thanks for the input everyone.

im not sure if this is a good thread to ask. i have e-rewards and redeemed GS gift cards. i hold on to them. does anyone have problems with their gift cards saying its invalid?

That bonus ended on 6/2 It is showing up with red dead redemption 1 now. Some ok flips for far cry 5 from target now if you want some psn or xbox live credit. I got a $5 xbl credit code and put $55 towards preorders. After spending $45+tax on 2 copies of far cry 5

There was some kind of issue a few weeks ago that made a bunch of gift cards invalid (not just the ones from e-rewards). I had three $25 eGift cards that became invalid. I called customer service and they were able to send me a virtual card for $75 (they asked me if I wanted separate $25 cards or just one card) to my email. Got it within a couple of hours after calling them. That would be your best course of action.

 
Where's the free shipping?
I've tried ordering Pre-orders, vintage, used and new games.. and NONE are Qualifying for this vaunted free shipping their website is offering

I've tried pre-ordering a game. their is a handling fee with no real shipping options...

I tried ordering 3 used games totaling $40.. once again I am still charged shipping.

I've even tried combining the orders, and I am charge separate shipping for certain things, like the pre-order and new or used games, I am charged separate shipping for each order portion.
