So apparently the beginning part of the Cyberpunk 2077 trailer featured a bunch of activation codes for Witcher 3: Game of the Year Edition (I'm assuming for the X1 version, but I'm not sure).  They've apparently all been redeemed already.  LOL

Kinda crazy that people not only figured it out, but already redeemed them all.

Entirely online... el oh el... fucking Todd.

SERVERS!  Can see it now.... Fallout 76 servers offline for maintenance.

Build anywhere... so you're forced on to a server with 20ish other people... and their crappy building...  This is actually worse than I anticipated.  Even worse still... this might be the end of single player Fallout.  Why make a new single player game when you have an always-on-line semi-persistent world you just keep pumping out DLC and paid mods for?

ESO was the test,...

I mean... I was braced for... optional co-op with a hook-up to Creation Club and a deluge of paid mods. This is... it's basically ESO.

Also, Poopfield coming 202X. And TES6 with a vague screenshot... that's probably not Black Marsh coming 202X.

Elder Scrolls 6 announced and Starfield (for next gen).  Told you, you fucks

man you don't realize just how big Bethesda is as a publisher, and how many shooters they have, until you watch an entire Bethesda E3 presser.

Yeah i was hoping for a borderlands type of co-op, but this was disappointing.

Black Marsh DLC was announced for ESO actually.

EDIT:

Holy shit. I didn't think they'd make an Elder Scrolls VI after the moderate success of Skyrim, so this comes as quite the surprise.
But, they basically showed really nothing.

Just teaser trailers for Starfield and ES6.

Nice to know they are officially acknowledged by Bethesda now - but eh, we still saw nothing on those two.

It's been nearly seven years since Skyrim released.  People just wanted reassurance that they were working on the next TES, and they knew they had to give it.

Bethesda did a 180 from what they usually do, and announced their aggregate plans for the next 2-3 years and touched on just about every one of their franchises.  Instead of focusing on imminent releases for the current year.

Yeah, it was always questionable whether or not Bethesda was working on a follow-up to the game that sold 25-30 million copies. It's such a relief that they released a 20 second video that was slapped together in 10 seconds that shows zero seconds of gameplay.

TES6 and Starfield announced was awesome - but being shown nothing sucks.

They would've been better off announcing that stuff before showing off Fallout 76.

They probably could've closed with Fallout 76.

Apparently Bethes-derp is now saying you can play Fallout 76 offline.  Despite Todd saying it was entirely on-line.  He clearly said that and your character is saved to a server which is akin to Diablo 3.

Also the November date is apparently just the beta.

That was probably the original idea, but then they saw the mixed reactions to the MP-only rumors and said, "Alright, let's put together some shitty teasers at the last minute to placate these nerds."

All of those were lackluster, IMHO - Fallout 76 gameplay, Starfield teaser trailer, and TES6 teaser.

Also just saw this on twitter re: Fallout 76 and realized it: you can't have mods in an online game.  Not unless they are OFFICIAL CREATION CLUB PAID MODS, THAT IS!

Also noticed the build-o-matic machine charges you caps to build stuff.  I sense stuff like daily-quests and/or pay 500 Creation Club CREDZ for a bag of Fallout 76 caps!  So... little Timmy spends $100 on CCC and buys thousands of caps so he can acquire the nuclear silo and blow everyone on the server up... shades of EVE Online.

eh fuck this thread
bunch of twats that can't even discuss gaming on any rational level
What's to discuss??!?

Most fans of Bethesda's games like their games b/c they are offline games that can be modded however you see fit...without dealing the online-players, always-online DRM, possible cheating by other players, and any other MMO non-sense that comes w/ those games.

Putting a Bethesda game online fully...well, that makes their games basically just another MMO type of game; it's what happened w/ ESO basically. We got enough of MMO's, online-only, and MMO-lites out there already - and we know since this is the new AAA thing, we're going to see more of these.

By putting a BethSoft game online, you basically lose all of the stuff that made Bethesda's offline games so special in the first place - such as mods & big huge open-worlds that you can experience alone.

EDIT:

What makes this worse, is that this is not a new franchise they are doing this online-only stuff with. It might be more forgivable, if this was done w/ a new franchise/IP. So, this also makes matters even worse. Fallout has an already huge fan-base and most of those gamers have certain expectations....and modding & offline gameplay are those things.

FO76 gameplay looked kinda interesting, but even with all the unanswered questions that still surround it, it's clear that it's entirely the opposite of what I and many others want out of a FO game. But even then, the game is going to no doubt be a financial success because the audience it is made for is gonna eat it up.

Those other teasers, I dunno, I don't see the point. We all knew they were coming at some point, but it's clear from Todd's wording that they're still a long way off (Starfield I bet doesn't come out until 2020 at the earliest, and TES VI is probably 5+ years off). This won't put an end to the "Where's TES VI?!?!" questions that Bethesda gets hit with all the time. This was their way of saying, "We're working on it, shut up", but it won't shut people up.

For years, I would play Bethesda games, getting quietly immersed in the huge world, and would think "The only thing that can improve this is a bunch of other players jumping around and blowing me up while i'm trying to explore. Also minecraft."

Yes, it's definitely not what I want in a FO game.

For a Bethesda game, I want a fully playable offline game that I can mod to my heart's content. If they kept that and also had the option to also take it online w/ players, that would be cool. But throwing this entirely online-only is a mistake, I think; especially when we're seeing more and more games go online-only, especially in the AAA space.

Even more so, well...ain't this a "kick in the head" after Bethesda did that Save Player 1 Campaign last year.

It doesn't seem like even VATS is here in FO76 either - of course, I dunno really how to make something like VATS work in an online-game of this type.
