I was fortunate enough to watch the Fathom Events viewing of Batman back in May. I remember thinking it might have been too scary as an 8 year old, but seeing it 30 years later in the theater to make up for it was so satisfying.

I've seen every X-Men movie in the theater during its opening weekend, so negative reviews be damned I'm going to see this too. And if the movie really is that bad, then at least I can watch Episode 2 of Swamp Thing - which looks like another hit series from DC Universe.

 
Not too surprising about NBA2K 19. Five Below has physical copies for $5 on Xbox One. I'm sure they may have it for PS4 too but this location only had a sea of copies on X1.

Speaking for myself personally, the OT banter is why I frequent this thread. If I just wanted strictly gaming deals, I could wait for Major's post every week or go to TrueAchievements. I know I don't talk up as often because I'm just generally shy, but I like reading the thoughts of people in this thread and not just on Xbox stuff. (Even AWP in all his Clemsonyness)

So, anyone can feel free to report me. If I get banned because I posted something about a movie or commented on a celebrity death or something, I can get my deals elsewhere. Otherwise, I'm going to keep reading the commentary from the people here I like and occasionally chiming in.

On topic, I CANNOT pass up NBA 2K19 for $3, even if I suck at sports games.
 
They won't revoke it on stuff you pay for, they barely do on free stuff anyway unless it's something brand new like the Fallout 4 debacle.

Same answer for me to this question, always. I'm playing Destiny 2. The new Season of Opulence released yesterday and some leaks from datamining have me very excited:

  • Cross-save (not to be confused with cross-play) might be coming soon.
  • A new big expansion with a physical collector's edition is going to be announced.

Apparently Blizzard just cancelled some un-announced game. It's not clear if this guy quit because the project died or if the team was fired. He was an animator on Overwatch, I wonder if it was the upcoming Overwatch related game that is been mentioned as recently as May 28.

Void Bastards is fantastic. Damn I love Gamepass. I wasn't ready to pony up $30 from what I had seen on youtube, although now that I've sunk a hundred hours in I probably will if it leaves. I'm kinda baffled why the game doesn't have multiple save slots tho, especially based on some of the achievements like 'Beat the game with "Pistols Only" restriction on.' I'm trying for that one now and desperately missing my pipe bombs and stun gun, which btw I have tons of ammo for but can't even build the blueprint to equip.

Anyone tried Override Mech City Brawl? The reviews I looked at sounded pretty bad, but I keep pulling up the store page anyways... stupid robots being intricately cool.

Lastly, any thoughts on Warhammer Martyr? My stash in Diablo has been stuffed full for like 3 years and I haven't even booted the game back up because I know the only way forward is to just trash everything and start over, multiple completed sets be damned. I've always like the 40k aesthetic and reviews seem ok, but I'm flinching at the $40 price tag when I paid $25 for Diablo. Is it really more strategic, or do you just end up spamming whatever isn't on cooldown?
 
Hell, I've owned 2K19 for months and still gifted myself another code for it. Maybe I'll run a contest in here for best off-topic discussion starter to give it away.
 
Dead by Daylight coming to mobile. Wonder if it will have cross play support? I know Fortnite and PUBG have been huge on mobile but I just can’t understand playing FPS games on a phone.

I’m not one to bash mobile like others do as there are actually some good games on iOS. But shooters...just no.

Even at that price, it’s a hard pass for me. I don’t play basketball games much but despite how weird the characters look, Live has gotten back to be a real good game.

Thing is if I’m playing a game on mobile, it’s because I want to play it on the go....not with a controller. Glad it’s an option for those that want it but I have consoles if I want to game with a controller.

Just going on past experience I doubt anyone is getting banned here. If that's the case it'll fall to you to decide if you want to keep complaining until the end of time or not, at which point I assume you'll be mass Ignored to the point of falling on deaf ears. To call this entire thread a garbage heap is unfair, it's only trash when idiots are gumming it up with shit-tier posts antagonizing the rest of the posters. I enjoy playing on mobile. I recently played through XCOM: Enemy Within. It was awesome experiencing a full AAA game on my phone -- doubly so because it was only $1.99.

Shooters though, eh ... My in-laws play PUBG on phone. I tried a few matches and deleted it. Just didn't do it for me.

 
I still can't believe PUBG Mobile had a full featured Resident Evil 2 crossover and the console/PC version didn't even get at least the outfits. I've tried playing it but it just felt so awkward that I couldn't get used to it.

I don't know if you guys have seen this yet it's pretty badass though a newer game coming out called splitgate but it's Halo first person shooting with portal added in. Looks very fun.

I could imagine the little tricks that could be played. Open a portal throw grenade. Player running towards you open portal at their feet. Portal out from above/behind them for stealth kills.

That would open up so much more possibilities for capture the flag games. Hell even grifball and oddball would become even more fun to play.

I remember Mech City being free to play one weekend a couple months back and it was solid enough. If you ever played Virtual On Oratorio Program for the 360, it's similar in a way to that. While it's been years, I'd say Mech City felt clunkier, but fine enough if you want some dumb fun (and we'll likely not see another mech game for some time if I had to guess)

I presume the online is a ghost town though. While there were people online for the free weekend, it took a decent amount of time even then to find matches.

And besides, chicks dig giant robots.

 
I haven't watched Futurama in awhile, but help me remember: Doesn't Captain Brannigan consider himself the hero in all their adventures, but instead ends up getting in the way, is somewhat bumbling, and often makes situations worse? 

Can't tell if great troll, or he truly sees himself as the lone hero struggling against all odds to clean up this dusty town.

I know this isn't anything new, but I feel like the current deals page on the store dashboard gives us a great example of what can be so wrong with how games can be handled these days.

During vacation in the middle of nowhere this passed week I've stayed at a couple places with wifi and as far as internet goes it made me appreciate living in a highly populated area with decent options and no data caps. The wifi was wicked slow loading the internet so I couldn't imagine downloading or playing online games. It's not my first time without cell service but it was my first experience with rural wifi. Almost missed yooka laylee for $10 because of connection problems.

I hope they get their shit together for D3. I imagine the overall plans changed after the split from Activision but unless they drastically change their update structure we're going to be stuck with shit like that as long as Destiny is around. At this point I think an MMO subscription model would do them more good than the essentially required expansions at odd intervals. From what I hear basically all of the vanilla D2 content is a ghost town for those who haven't bought DLC.
