Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.

I Think the fact that you're posting this on the XBox deals thread proves from the get go it was never meant for you.
I'm talking not as a Xbox gamer necessarily but as a gamer in general as I have seen many people post as in here. I was seriously interested in what Google was bringing to the table and interested in what other people thought and generally the people in this thread are much more levelheaded that other places on the Internet.

Random codes if anyone wants them.

500,000 GTA bucks: DCC6D-P9MHC-9MMWV-6TRDT-YYXYZ
75 Warframe Platinum dollarooos: JQVFF-TF69P-KR64D-F4Y4Q-DCC7Z
For Honor Digital Deluxe Pack thingy: HV4QV-94FD3-XPJD6-MWF7F-X9XKZ
KOTOR: CPXG6-9DD26-MPFV3-VPD3M-W7DVZ
Claimed KOTOR, thanks! Missed it when they gave it away for free a while ago.

Anyone else really underwhelmed by the Stadia stream? I mean... As someone that lives in a rural area with 25mbps down at best and only 2mbps up... Even if I'm fine with 720p, why would I go this route? And they say the games you buy you own, but what about situations like Telltale? The only way we will have those at the end of this month is if you already have them downloaded to the console/PC of your choice. I think I'm happy sticking with Xbox.
I don't think it works for your situation. I have no data cap and gig speed and I don't even want it. I'm all for interesting competition though. They brought nothing to the table that would be better for me already having an Xbox and planning on buying the next Xbox, perhaps instant load times, but no exclusive software.

I'd be more concerned about the whole service being shuttered in a few years judging from Google's track record.

The competition thing is what is important to me as well. Admittedly, I was probably never going to join Stadia anyway. However, strong competition leads to innovation. Would so many of the great things Xbox is offering now (GamePass, xCloud, the adaptive controller, etc.) have existed or existed this soon if Sony hadn't taken control of this generation and forced Microsoft to adapt? So I wanted Google to have a strong incentive to join Stadia if only to force MS, Sony, and Nintendo to innovate something and further differentiate themselves. However... Google really offered nothing.

Agreed, their marketing message is off. They're pitching it as the gaming service that doesn't require a console or bulked up PC; it sounds like "if you're not a gamer due to device costs, this is the service for you." But, all the games they shown are not for beginners or people looking to move from phone-type games (heavy focus on first and third person shooters). People interested in playing these games already have consoles and dedicated PCs to play them.

If they want to go after the existing gaming market, they should have focused on the portability and the quick setup time with no downloads ("open a Chrome tab and play"). This will not convert people who are not currently gaming.

But, at the same time, the latency inherent in such a service is discouraging to most gamers especially if you wanted to do something like play Destiny PVP, which was featured as one of their flagship announcements (all D2 content included in Stadia subscription). https://www.pcgamer.com/i-tried-googles-stadia-and-latency-got-me-killed/

So, I'm not sure who this service is for, and it doesn't sound like they are either.

A split would be nice. Off topic discussion gets it's own thread, this one stays a deal one, and then each of these threads also creates their own Discord server for the "elite" members, and then the OGs of the board abstain from Discord because it's too new and weird and they go to the CAG Lounge and make more topics to keep out new posters. It's a win-win-win-win-win-win.
what we really need is a thread where everyone finds deals but keeps the deals to themselves, then, after the deal is over, post about it and offer to sell the item at twice what you paid for it.

The update will also bring more comprehensive cross-platform support to the game. A new cross-save feature allows players to access the same characters from their primary account on different platforms, though for now this is only for Xbox and PC, not PS4. In addition, Bungie says there will be no more platform-exclusive weapons, armor, maps or activities.
It all sounds like some great things coming to Destiny 2 but finally doing away with platform exclusive stuff is a much welcome change. Reminds me I need to go back to it but need to finish games that have an end first.

He was referring to the gamestop way of life unless movie codes way of life imitates the same...
trading forums too, i saw a few people trying to trade nba 2k19 codes just yesterday when they thought it was an error. every time there is any kind of glitch/error/sale you see those items soon after at 200% markup.

Seeing as how this thread is the only reason I come to this site I would just stop coming here if that happened.

I really hated Destiny, but it's cool to hear about more cross play. I hope Sony keeps it up, it's only going to be better for us gamers to have higher server populations.

I have not been paying attention to pre e3 hype at all. What big games are you guys looking forward to?

Wait. E3? Destiny 2? Big games you are looking forward to?

These aren’t deals. How dare you!

I really like the Destiny 2 cross-save news, especially since I'm thinking of switching over to Xbox to play D2.  But I'm confused about what this "New Light" free game will include and not include.

Ah I see why the Stadia reveal had the little asterisk when they were announcing cross play with everything, Sony just approved it yesterday

It's everything up to Shadowkeep coming out September 17th.

Stadia stream had a nice disclaimer text burn at the bottom of the screen during the Destiny 2 portion that basically said "If Sony allows it"
Pretty sure it's confirmed for all current platforms, with Stadia's inclusion of that with Sony is pending.

I might actually try to resurrect my old account on PS4 if it's going to be portable. Here's hoping instead of D3 they follow a more common MMO model with building on a base.

I'm reading other reports that say New Light does not include Forsaken.

Also, is it just me or did every version of Destiny 2 except the complete version (on sale for $60) just vanish from the Xbox store?

Just a test post to see if this post gets reported.

Lets see what off topic post can I post?

Any one see the new X-Men movie or the new Godzilla? Either one any good?

When does Shazam come out on Blu Ray?

I just got an email from square enix that they are about to reveal a new avengers game they have been working on. Hope it's something different then mua3 since that's going to be switch only

Oh and just a side note. The people complaining about off topic chatter keep making posts about how they are mad about off topic chatter and are also creating off topic posts about how they are unhappy with off topic posts. Maybe we should report each one of their cry baby posts also?

If anyone is getting the new purple Xbox one bundle and will not have a use for the fortnite code, shoot me a pm as I will gladly buy it off of you!

I was primarily a ps4 gamer and put in over 200 hours into destiny 2 but due to an issue with PlayStation I sold it and switched over to the Xbox one x. I rebought Destiny 2 on a good sale and have put time into another character class to get him to just about where I was with the 200 plus hours. So now thinking that my warlock will live again next to my titan that I’ve built is very exciting. Maybe all the achievements will unlock as intended too. Good stuff.

Got the GTA one, thanks!

NBA 2K19 shows up as "With Gold, play this game, or buy to own." for me. I don't remember it ever being a GWG title.
There is also a F2P weekend for this game and a few others if you have Gold.

Yeah but cross play > cross saves [emoji2369]

I'm fine with cross-save because it (could/should be) easier to implement than cross-play. But maybe we'll see that one day soon*!

Here I am just wondering when the E3 starts today...it is happening today right? I really want to replay FFX on my Xbox already.
FFX on :xb1:? That's been available since early April. Maybe you're think of a different game (FF7 Remake perhaps)?

Was one character created on :ps4: and the other on :xb1:? If so, I imagine you won't be able to have both of them unless their process to merge all save info allows it. I've only played the game for <1 hour on PC while I'm in the top 2% of time played on :xb1: so it wouldn't bother me to lose the PC-based progress, but hopefully they'll have something lined up for people like you with lots of time on multiple platforms.

Honestly can’t say I’m expecting amazing deals from the E3 sale. Probably just another one of those sales where there’s a crap load of stuff at the usual prices.

But will be happy if I’m wrong...

I didn't manage to catch all of the ViDoc but there are massive changes coming in that new expansion in September. I might actually come back when it releases. It seems like Bungie isn't as dumb as they've appeared over the last couple years, but actually were held back by Activision. From small stuff in that stream like admitting they consider the game a version of an MMO, to big stuff like bringing in a much heavier RPG focus, while also allowing us to finally choose what perks are on what armor for real customization. Big stuff like making it so you don't need to own the previous expansions to play the new one, and making it so pretty much all activities are open to everyone very quickly so both casual and hardcore friends can play together much easier and sooner. These are changes I didn't expect until the next game, but with this big shift it seems like this new F2P version of the game will be Destiny for the rest of the gen, with a D3 making a lot more sense when the new consoles are already out.

There was one big thing in the ViDoc that wasn't in the basic announcements. They're bring the opening mission of D1 into the new game, waking up outside the Cosmodrome up until you grab your ship and fly to the Tower. This is the first time actually bringing in direct old content into the new platform so that's a great sign for a unified game. The moon stuff they were showing was definitely the area around the Hellmouth from the first game as well, though with new stuff added.

At the very least this post-Activision Bungie has me interested again. I hope they can really turn the ship around, it would be great to see one of my former favorite developers actually get out the hole they ended up in, unlike where Bioware and Bethesda currently are.

I'm dropping YouTube TV as a protest today caused by their actions this morning. If you don't know here is a video that helps explain what's going on and why it's bad for all independent content creators.

Anyways what is a good alt to YouTube TV? I need it to have dvr and able to stream local channels as well.

I could swear the E3 sale is the only one that gets close to the BF in terms of sales discount but hell, it's been a year.

I haven't paid any attention to the Destiny 2 stuff. Does this mean I'll be able to pick up where I left off on my PS4 on XB1 now? And does this happen before that September date or is that when it all hits?

Here I am just wondering when the E3 starts today...it is happening today right? I really want to replay FFX on my Xbox already.
No, the stuff that is more or less officially connected to E3 doesn't start until EA's live-stream (not conference) on Saturday. Since both Sony and Activison chose not to do their own shows this year we've had this string of one-off announcements over the past week like Call of Duty and Death Stranding, then you had Pokemon that I assume Nintendo didn't want to take up a quarter of their show with so much info, Destiny had a lot of details about all platforms so it doesn't really fit in at Microsoft or PC Gaming Show, and Google likely just wanted to play by their own rules with Stadia. E3 itself isn't doing to hot as an actual conference, and big studios realized they'll get just as much if not more attention just streaming their own events while saving on the astronomical fee it takes to actually be physically at E3.

I think these are all of the main \shows to watch for game announcements, though there are also some tournaments going on for Sea of Thieves, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Super Mario Maker 2, and probably a few more. I had to compile what I think is a complete list as most of the gaming sites are leaving off stuff like Kinda Funny and Limited Run

  • EA Play Live Stream: Saturday, June 8 - 12:15 PM ET
  • Microsoft: Sunday, June 9 - 4:00 PM ET
  • Bethesda: Sunday, June 9 - 8:30 PM ET
  • Devolver Digital: Sunday, June 9 - 10:00 PM ET
  • PC Gaming Show: Monday, June 10 - 1:00 PM ET
  • Limited Run Games: Monday, June 10 - 3:00 PM ET
  • Kinda Funny Games Showcase: Monday, June 10 - 7:30 PM ET
  • Ubisoft: Monday, June 10 - 4:00 PM ET
  • Square Enix: Monday, June 10 - 9:00 PM ET
  • Nintendo Direct: Tuesday, June 11 - 12 PM ET
Once the actual E3 convention starts, there is also Geoff Keighley's E3 Colosseum happening. Usually I think there are a few small games announced, but there are usually more details on the games featured at least. They ahve a lot of stuff so see their full schedule at the link.
  • June 11, 10AM – 7PM
  • June 12, 10AM – 7PM
  • June 13, 10AM – 6PM
(I'm guessing in Pacific time instead of the Eastern the rest of my post is in.

Great, now I have this political shit on my history to ruin my recommendations.

It might be a valiant hill to die upon for all I know, but that video alone certainly didn't inform me of the situation. Merely pointed out "Here's a bunch of (conservative?) channels that got shut down or demonetized and stuff." It didn't explain the background and assumed I came with an informed perspective.

2/10

He did mention boogie, and that guy probably played an Xbox game at some point, so I think we're still on topic.

I use Directv Now I'm not sure being a new user I would go with them however, they've had some pretty good price hikes lately though but I'm on a grandfathered plan that doesn't even exist anymore so I get 100 channels for like 55 bucks.(also signed up when they were giving apple tv's away for a 3 month subscription) I've been really pleased with the service and picture quality. Our biggest reason for sticking with them though is because they have all of our channels we need especially the kid ones, looking at other services I couldn't find one that had the same combination of channels as DTV now. We don't get our locals here in Erie but I know a bunch of other markets do so ymmv. We've made it work though using the specific network apps and using our directv login we get our fox, nbc, and pbs. No ABC or CBS though. We did have to sign up for CBS all access to make sure we got football on sundays but its only $6 a month I believe. If we were going to switch I would go with either Hulu or Vue.

Apparently we will get the DLC for free during E3..I wonder if the 360 Version will get the update too?

They were. The way I read it, they’re all going to be unified under bungie.net and the process to consolidate them will be via the app. This makes sense cause then at login you’d log into your bungie.net account and pick all created characters from any platform.
