Whats up with sales starting on Wednesday's now, and getting a list the day beforehand? Also the fact that they have been lasting for 2 weeks. That's different. I reckon it helps us to know if our wallets are safe in advance though.

so looking at the awful critics sale, I think I might grab mk11, can anyone sell me on it? from what I researched it's launch was a massive failure and it's full of grinding, crappy servers, online only, mtx and censorship. is it really worth over XL? has it got better since then?

I'm not sure where you researched, but it doesn't really have any of that. Ultimately if you enjoy fighting games like MK, you'll like 11. More customization for specific characters (although I personally feel it too much/too limiting for fighters). The online only, mtx and censorship are flat out wrong.

MK 11 is a fun game (mostly only played single player)

At this point, my recommendation would be to get a cheap physical copy of vanilla mk 11 if you want to play it now and/or wait for the complete edition digital.

just curious to anyone that buys this, owns it, or already played it, did you have a ton of technical issues with the game? i had enemies spawn out of nowhere all around me, several problems with textures not showing up, artifacts, and loading issues galore. It kind of made me feel like a problem beginning with my ps4, but for all the graphical issues.

I played on a Day one Xbox, and the only issue I had was some extreme slowdown during the worldmap (or fast travel thing, whatever it was called) a couple times. Nothing major and didnt take me out of it.

Not just you. I have the digital version, a 1tb internal SSD, Pro console, and in performance mode — and it STILL has terrible frame rate drops. The cut scenes seem to run at a decent frame-rate, but ALL gameplay drops to unbearable levels. I also used a stop watch at the beginning of the game for loading back into the game after dying to that first boss. It was ONE-MINUTE AND TWO SECONDS. I didn’t think the Anthem load times could get worse. J:FO proved me wrong.

If the game ran well, I’d give it 9/10 and full praise. With the obvious technical issues, I’d say 5/10.

The only issues I had was some animation jank, weird loading issues when you go into an area the game wasn't ready to load yet, and some framerate issues until I turned off performance mode since it's locked to 30fps in resolution mode versus going up and down in performance mode. It was mostly fine for me on PS4 Pro.

11 is probably the best MK as a whole but it does have mtx with the time crystals you can buy w/real money for a daily rotating selection of skins, etc, the female characters are less sexualized compared to 10 and esp. 9 (if you care about that), and most importantly you DO need a constant internet connection for everything except training and campaign.

I can't say I experienced this on a pro/SSD combo but I am using disk. I think the game is pretty good and didn't experience any game breaking stuff. Maybe it was patched out? Idk.
 
Probably only getting the MvC: Infinite costume pack and maybe SCVI if it gets a trade-in bump again at GameStop.

I feel dumb for spending $4 on the REmake 2 unlocks last month. Figured that sort of sale was rare..
 
Okay so Marvel vs capcom standard is 9.99. character pass is 9.89. deluxe edition (claiming to be standard plus pass only) is 23.99. seems dumb to buy the deluxe edition. Is it worth 10 bucks? is the character pass worth another 10 bucks? seems pretty steep.

 
if you want to have a fun romp odyssey is a good choice. if you are a completionist stay AWAY from this game. it sucked up so much of my time and felt like work getting 100% trophies. the DLC especially was torture to fully complete. Combat was cool for a little while, some of the unique sets and boss fights were alright, but it gets repetitive.

I'm 60 hours into the main game without touching the Dlc and I am not a completionist. Game says I'm about 75% of the way through the story. Fantastic base game. Value of extras TBD.

I started playing racing games back with the original Gran Turismo on the PSX, and that game pretty much set the control and HUD groundwork for sim racing games. So they're all relatively similar these days.

With that said, I really enjoy Grid. I think it looks gorgeous, and it includes a mix of features between GT and Forza that make it worth owning. Grid has more tracks than GT, and the bundle is cheaper than a similar one from Forza. It's a good game.

I got the base game for $15 on Black Friday. If I didn't I probably would have picked up the gold version for $25. After I bought it, I looked up how long it is to beat the game, and moved it to the backlog.

It was my most played game in 2019 and I didn't even finish half the DLC. I platted it at about 90 hours. I intend to go back as the dlc was good too.

I just completed the Jedi Fallen Order story a few days ago and am currently finishing up a clean-up effort to get the Plat. I didn't have any major technical problems with the game at all. I saw some slow-loading textures every once and awhile, but nothing that I would call a major glitch or anything that broke the game. I did notice that the game was patched at least twice since it came out, so maybe a lot of the major issues were taken care of before I started playing it in January, or maybe I just got lucky!

You get ACIII Remastered with it, but Odyssey is a good game that has too much stuff in it. You can easily grind yourself into dust and burnout on it if you're a completionist, so you have to be cognizant of that and not worry too much about seeing everything in the game.

I mean, maybe it’s just me, but the whole forcing you to have a romance (and child) with a specific derpy character just to tie the game into the rest of the franchise despite the initial promises that the player would never be forced into a romance he didn’t want really turned me off the DLC. I mean, some of the game’s defenders talk about the genetic memory thing the IP’s premise is based on, but as far as I can recall, you haven’t actually needed a descendent for that (just DNA) since Desmond stopped being a character.

Just left a bad taste in my mouth, and I didn’t want to support the DLC after that.

I just finished this game 100% last night. Took me 2 months and my save was at 166 hours lol. Gold edition is a fantastic value, that's a lot of game plus ac3 and liberation remasters. As far as the dlc, yeah legacy was just meh, but the fate of Atlantis is really good. Just like origins with hidden ones and curse of the pharoahs.
 
I would probably have BELOW's survive mode, but explore mode sounds right up my alley. I'll definitely have to keep an eye out for it and pick it up on it's first sale.

 
Hmm.  The RE2 All In-Game Rewards unlock is still showing up at full price.  Hope they fix it.  Was kind of hoping to go back to it and do an overpowered run for a couple bucks.  Some people are reporting some other things that are supposed to be on sale are still at full price, too.

 
I'm going to do a birthday stream tonight at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT and stream one of the worst games I've ever played (Dogchild) and maybe some Rocket League at the end to wash out that bad taste.

Played this on Game Pass and this game has some of the cheapest deaths I've seen. When you die it puts you back at the beginning and it takes so long to get back after you die that I rage quit. The explore mode sounds like a very welcome addition.
