• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2026. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

From all the videos and comments I've seen, the FC5 DLC is so bad that all of them say you shouldn't waste your time with them. I had the same dilemma, but ended up just grabbing 3 for $3 knowing I can spend that $6 elsewhere. And I did, and I grabbed Shiness and How to Survive 2.

I already owned the Far Cry 5 disc, and I really wanted to play Far Cry 3 again, so I said what the hell and went with the season pass. The irony is that I have Far Cry 5 and New Dawn on disc, and I still haven't installed either, so I prolly could have waited on the season pass.

I found the FC5 DLC to be mediocre. There are basically 3 parts:

1. Vietnam mission DLC with dumbed-down stealth mechanics. I'm a sucker for stealth so I played all the way through it. I enjoyed it but it wasn't anything essential.

2. Mars DLC with Hurk - it has some limited humor value but again it's nothing special. I also finished this one.

3. A movie Zombie DLC that was just forgettable, I didn't even bother playing it through.

I don't think anyone would really miss having this DLC, unless you must have all the achievement points since it does have achievements. None of the DLC extends the main FC5 story in any way - you need New Dawn for that.

I enjoyed the Vietnam mission and thought the tension was what made it enjoyable. I tried Mars and just lost interest even though I love Hurk and it was somewhat funny. I never touched the Zombie DLC.

After doing the rewards quest for it, I actually thought it seemed fun. I’m gonna try and play it more before it leaves.

Put about an hour into Ooblets. It's very charming as the designs and everything show, but it's basically a live your happy little peaceful life kinda game like Animal Crossing. I'm still early on, but biggest difference from AC is it has RPG leveling elements tied to card based dance battle mini game. I haven't found what the perks are from leveling up, but so far I'm enjoying the game. It's very much a no idea what to play, but want to sit back and relax game.

I'm going with the latter, and I think there is a good chance people wouldn't like the game even if they did a new one. Splinter Cells were super well crafted tight puzzle levels and scripting with little room to put in microtransactions. 

I think the hope might be more now that if The Initiative is really working on a "Perfect Dark" game it's something in the Splinter Cell vein and not another FPS.

Watch Dogs 1 was very ho hum. As in felt very by the numbers in terms of gameplay and writing. Watch Dogs 2 felt much more refined, it barely makes mention of anything or anyone from the first game (minus the DLC) so it won't leave you confused and the whole hacking aspect is put to better use. Just make note though it feels much more of a stealth game in the second compared to the first.

I enjoyed the ideas watch dogs 1 presented haven't gotten around to playing 2 too much but if you can find a cheap unopened gold edition there is a glitch that when you enter the season pass for the all the dlc it gives you the game digitally for free (ymmv it worked when I did it a few years ago after finding a cheap gold edition)

And something I don’t think Sony can compete with. I think it’s an incredible move...I guess the only drawback would be losing GwG titles, but I think Microsoft is running out of solid titles for that program anyway moving into next-gen.

Greenberg apparently said there will be no hardware news at all. So expect the final minutes to be something along the lines of a Halo trailer with Master Chief looking into the horizon seeing a glimpse of the battles he has to fight or whatever. Though Sony's plan with just stepping on the throttle in console production is a damn good plan all it's own.

I don’t think they’ll drop Gold, they’ll just make it free. They’re going to want to still give out games each month. They won’t want Sony doing it and not them.

Maybe they'll offer a Game Pass lite sub to compete with PS+ in that way. Allows you to play up to 2 titles a month from the Game Pass catalog but you don't get all the other perks like Xcloud. Who knows, but I'm sure not having multiplayer behind a paywall trumps anything PS+ can do.

I think if you look at the GwG titles recently and gave someone the option of a) free multiplayer but no GwG or b) $10 monthly sub but includes GwG, the free option would be more appealing to parents and a lot of other people, especially if they could put that $10 towards Game Pass w/ xCloud.

It's been speculated that Microsoft is going to drop Gold and remove the multiplayer paywall to focus on Game Pass. That would be a game changer if it happens.

And something I don’t think Sony can compete with. I think it’s an incredible move...I guess the only drawback would be losing GwG titles, but I think Microsoft is running out of solid titles for that program anyway moving into next-gen.

They just announced that xCloud will be included in GPU memberships today, so if someone wanted to spend $180 for 3 years of Gold, that would have been huge savings for what just 1 year of GPU normally costs.

I don't think they're going to remove a subscription to undercut their $1 promotion when they can simply just change the parameters of the $1 upgrade.

I'm guessing xCloud will replace Xbox Live Gold as we know it.

All we know now is that xCloud will be included with Game Pass Ultimate but Ultimate cannot be the only way to get xCloud access.

$14.99 per month is too much for that.

That's nothing new, Kinect support has been dead for a long time now.

Interesting news about Project Xcloud coming to Gamepass in the fall. I am fortunate that the Xcloud service works very well on my mobile device. Hopefully they can work with Apple to get all the games on iOS as well. Edit: I was reading about the Halo Spartan games being removed from the apple store. 

In other news I am level 19 car collector in Forza Street. What a grind! All for those 2 remaining achievements, part 3 and level 20 car collector.

Still have not decided what Far Cry game to buy, perhaps I will get FC3 Classic+ FC5 on the Xbox One.

What if this isn't them discontinuing Gold. But, raising the price for when the Series X comes out? To get a year you have to pay $100 now, instead of the 60-ish that it was before.
