  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
    On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?
Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :
  1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
  2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
  3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2026. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
  4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
  5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.
The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Haven’t posted an update in a while, just saw a post that the Xbox app is going to have achievements added. Looks like the beta is full iOS but I was able to install in on an android device! Oh boy I missed it!
 
Evo, the biggest fighting game tournament, has been acquired by Sony. Sony continues their stranglehold on the genre with Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Guilty Gear, and Blazblue all console exclusives on their platform. With this news, even multiplatform titles like Tekken or Soulcalibur will be lopsided with online communities shifting there.
 
Just returned my Microsoft wireless headset back to Bestbuy . I have no idea how they reviewed so high ,they were terrible. Sound quality was bad with multiple games and movies tested (Atmos license installed) . Not comfortable at all to wear more than an hour . The mic is borderline unusable and makes you sound like you're in a submarine or using soup cans and a string . Hey but atleast they instantly pair to the xbox in a few seconds

No, it hasn't. It's revisionist history.

32bit era, Sega Saturn was the place for fighting games since the ps1 had massively gimped ports of 2D fighters.

Sega Dreamcast had amazing ports of various fighting game still in play today thanks to NullDC w/online play.

PS2 era fighters were great although depending on what region you were in, OG Xbox was almost as good with many of the popular fighters getting netplay and even North American releases after Sony was blocking them on PS2.

PS3 era? The Xbox 360 objectively had the better versions of games while the ps3 versions of stuff like Marvel vs Capcom 2/3 had noticeable input lag issues compared to the 360 versions offline. During this era, most tournament organizers used Xbox 360 as the platform to host tournaments with. Outside of Tatsunako vs Capcom, which was only on Nintendo Wii, I can't think of many times I've played on anything other than an Xbox 360 for a tournament.

It's only during the last generation that Playstation was the definitive place to go for fighting games.

I booted up Trials HD the other day fully expecting to have to start over because 360 Arcade games don't seem to have separate save files you can push to the cloud like disc games but it resumed right where I left it 11 years ago. I guess automatic cloud upload was built into Arcade games from the start?

The developers of Before The Storm, Deck Nine Games, are making the new Life Is Strange game subtitled True Colours. I was wondering if for True Colours they'll be resuing all of their assets from Before The Storm for True Colours because they are one of the laziest, cheapest devs in existence.

I have no idea who is making the remastered version of Before The Storm, but as long as it's not Deck Nine, I bet it'll be pretty cool.

PS5 has been a total mess with upgrades. So thankful for Smart Delivery.
 
Sony just bought EVO. Not that big of a deal overall as the majority of non-Smash games were primarily played on PS4, but I do question their commitment to the community just looking at the lineup for EVO online. Last year the lineup was mostly small or old games because they actually had good online, headlines by MK11 and Killer Instinct.

Now Xbox exclusive Killer Instinct has mysteriously vanished, as have Skullgirls and Thems Fighting Herd. They kept MK11, and added the deserving Guilty Gear Strive. But they also added back Street Fighter V and Tekken 7? Hope they are prepared for the horrible showing these two games will have with their busted netcode.

Overall it's whatever, I doubt any independent group in the FGC could have just taken over EVO, not with the founder basically tainting the whole organization.

Where is all that hostility coming from? Isn’t Before the Storm their first game? I thought it was pretty great.
 
So my update last night for Avengers brought me to 66 gigs.

But apparently the file is over 100gigs with today's update.

These file sizes are insane.

It's SO lazy. There's this amazing video on YouTube where they point out how characters are always wearing the same clothes so they didn't have to redraw them or how whenever a character uses their hands to manipulate something it'll be off camera so they don't have to animate it. There's so many short cuts like that.

Not to mention the story is awful and doesn't line up with Life is Strange at all.

Thanks for correcting me, I was posting on mobile and made a quick badly thought out reply. I was originally going to say something along the lines of the online FGC is mostly on PlayStation (plus a larger player population in general) so if online play is important to you then that's where you should be buying your fighting games. Cross play would be fantastic if more devs would support it when possible.

I dreaded the thought of a prequel to Life is Strange, however I remembered after played it that I thought Before the Storm was better than it had any right to be. It was also done in a way where somebody could play it in a chronological story order (playing Before the Storm first and Life is Strange afterwards) and they would have a very different but equally meaningful experience.

Two nights after the visit he couldn't go at all and I stayed up all night with him till the vet opened the following morning. They took him on in and gave me a call 3 hours later. They went ahead with the scan and found the mass was alot bigger than she expected and did confirm it was cancer. She said that due to the size of the mass and his age surgery was out. She wanted to give him pain meds and muscle relaxers and send him home. I asked how long did he have and what would his quality of life be? She said not good, organs would start to shut down and he would have maybe 4 days to live. I told her I didn't want him to suffer longer than what he already has. At 4pm Thursday me and my family stayed with him till he went to sleep. He always stayed at my side no matter where I went in the house or out in the farm he wanted to be there. He was hard headed but goofy dog. I loved him since he jumped in my car 5 years ago, he was a rescue who was 5 at the time. If you have a pet give them a extra treat and a good belly rub in honor of my dog, Bruno.

My condolences for your loss. My mom and have a 15 year old pekingese/chihuahua cross that's blind in one eye (cataracts) and has lost weight. She's still going with her feisty little self. We don't know how much time she has left and we just cherish each day with her. We certainly won't let her suffer when the time comes to say farewell.

 
Avengers has a free ms marvel skin. You have to log into the game and go into her marketplace on the main menu to claim it. Only has a few days to claim it.
 
I had been waiting on playing more of The Avengers since I knew the update was coming, but my God, 106.9 GB for this game seems excessive . I’ve never been that motivated to finish a game in any specific timeframe before but since I’m single player only I really want to get through it before The Show comes out so I can clear some space. That SSD fills up quick. Speaking of which, let’s play “what’s currently on your Series X?” . I’ve got 9 games at the moment with 28.2 GB to spare.

Heads up for those of you doing the Game Pass promotion with Kellogs. I bought 2 players packs on 2 separate receipts one min apart. Just the players pack and nothing else. I redeemed each of them on different accounts. The 2nd one got rejected because they say it was a duplicate of a receipt they have already seen. I called up and explained that I bought them a min apart but the guy told me I am not allowed to have 2 different accounts. I then told him I got the other one for a friend and he then says I am not allowed to share receipts or buy the items for other people. Bunch of BS but any way, I suggest buying hours apart or buy them like 10 min apart and include other items with them.

I am also not allowed to upload another players pack receipt since I got points that counted towards the receipt even though I didn't get the Game Pass code. I had a friend tell me he uploaded 2 14 day codes that got approved but he only received one code. The 2nd one never was emailed and he called and they just told him to call back in 2 days.

I’m balls deep in the Avengers upgrade and it does look amazing even if it doesn’t change the game a great deal. I’m still wanting it to be more like Ultimate Alliance than Destiny but at least it’s not terrible
 
Evo going to Sony is disappointing. With series S being the cheapest machine there was a real chance it could have made a FGC comeback. Sony took the scene when they bought Street Fighter V and now it's everything. Evo wasn't coming back the same after Mr Wizard's problems, long live Combo Breaker and CEO?
 
RIP KI's (and probably KI 2's) presence at EVO. Otherwise, yeah, it's not the biggest deal as Sony will continue to moneyhat the genre.

Evo going to Sony is disappointing. With series S being the cheapest machine there was a real chance it could have made a FGC comeback. Sony took the scene when they bought Street Fighter V and now it's everything. Evo wasn't coming back the same after Mr Wizard's problems, long live Combo Breaker and CEO?

There are a few misunderstood information in your post. It's a joint ownership with RTS. They said the event will be open to all platform. Street Fighter V was not bought, they got help with development of the game.
 
Yeah, but what they said and what they announced are sending different signals. There is not reason any FGC organizer woule exclude KI from an online only tournament other than sponsors/corporate bullshit. Age shouldn't matter there because it was already old when announced for last year. Skullgirls just got a new lease on life too, so it should be included as well.

Not a good sign, and it's clear the Cannon brothers decided to cash out after the Wizard disaster, especially with their work at Riot keeping them busy. I don't blame them or hold any negativity about them, but this was not a good option. I don't know that there were better ones though.
 
Seconding the response on the Avengers on series x. Damn it looks amazing. Loving the story. Totally worth $30 even if it’s repetitive. Looking forward to the Wakanda dlc

Even though I hate ordering expensive things online I decided to try it yesterday. Got one, got the order email with an expected delivery date, the charge is pending in my bank, but there's been no update since from walmart. Is this usual? Been 29 hours with no update.

Congrats and yes. My order shipped 4 days after my purchase with no update. I didn't even get any shipping info. I got an email that my order was delivered and I opened my door and there it was.

Ok Thanks. I keep expecting walmart to cancel on me lol.

And that's why I hate ordering online and dealing with deliveries. The few times I did I'd wait near my front door (which was open) all day, take a ten second bathroom break in adjacent bathroom, come back and there's a note on my screen door. No knock, just a note saying missed delivery.

It has happened in the past with Walmart. I had Target cancel on me but not Walmart. I can't say 100% that it won't be canceled but odds are, you will get it. If there is no update by Monday, you can always call them and ask what is going on.

 
Man, I just did a bit of research while discussing Avengers. The game is not in the top 50 most played games for the US on Xbox currently. Halo 5 is toward the bottom of that list and had 1300 players globally as of 90 minutes ago.

Does anyone know how often the top 50 refreshes?

Curious how you got the info for player counts? I would be fascinated to see that list.

Doing a full shutdown (hold the button on the console) worked for me. I've seen others say wiring the controller helps but I had no luck with that.

I actually enjoy the gameplay quite a bit, but it has quite a few problems. It's hard to find groups for anything (I'm playing on PlayStation). I'm struggling to get any of my characters up to the power level needed to run any of the end game stuff because the power level grind is super slow and tedious (I've completed every character's battle pass except for Hawkeye). There's very little enemy variety. I'm actually surprised that they're not just pulling the plug on it - I imagine they're going to have to try a Realm Reborn type reboot eventually.

On the plus side, the campaign and the story DLCs are pretty good. It looks really nice on next gen. The combat systems for the characters are distinct and fun once you unlock their abilities. I would say the game is decent enough if you get it on sale (50% at least).

The single player actually is pretty good IMO. But might want to hold off until it’s cheaper just for that.

The 106 GB it takes up on a Series X…well, that’s even more painful than the price tag.
