LEGO Deals 3

It was my first gaming system, so it’s more personal for me. Other than that I would say no, once the novelty of the tv runs out there’s really no playability to it.
I get that. I think I'd love the click of the cart going into the Nintendo is really awesome.

I feel it and the typewriter (which I've seen for $140) would be amazing builds that are really different, but then what do you do with them? Dust them off?

Just like Star Wars, for what ever reason LEGO became cool. They’re really just show pieces for guest to look at.

I would spend hours building castles or space ships when I was young, now it’s more of a stress relief and something to give focus on. I still enjoy the creativity to it but has been less of a factor the older I get.

I've been planning this ocean side modular hotel in my head since before covid. I FINALLY got most of it built. Not exactly what I wanted but it looks pretty good and is bigger than I thought it would be.

It's why I like buildings, modular, Friends, City, Creator, you take what LEGO gives you and make it your own. I feel that's the point of it. Now like you said, it's just to display expensive sets.

I matched a guy on Tinder who just had thousands in Star Wars sets, the $800 MF, $200 R2D2.

Talked myself into the Bookshop modular for double VIP points and the Goodall set. The Boutique Hotel definitely excites me more, but I don't know if I'll get a more appealing deal on the Bookshop before it's retired.

I bought Winnie the Pooh earlier in the week afraid it be OOS again by double points. I was going to get Sesame Street and just get the double points and a second Goodall set. Then I bought a hopefully mostly complete Flower Fruit Mountain for $90. I've spent $500 on LEGO on just eBay, $300 at LEGO, $100ish elsewhere.

The price of food in the last week went up another 12%, but inflation is 8%. fuck Joe Biden.

Went a bit overboard, ordered ninjago sub and Ferris wheel online, may go back for another Pooh.[attachment=36773:01FB79E3-DED5-4645-85ED-8BBDDC027655.jpeg]

So you are the one who buys the soccer stadiums. :p

That’s cool your store had some Monkie Kid reduced. Noticed yesterday the Foundry moved to “sold out” online, so that removes temptation for me to be a completionist at least.

That makes me feel better about also ordering the Creator Pirate Ship from Target today.
@saltybone, I noticed they sold out too at LEGO and Amazon, they had a lonely foundry and snagged it, no discount on that set though. I missed out on the demon bull, I was holding out for a discount on Amazon but that never happened.

I was about to post about this, $80 at target right now.

Haha… ahem, my wife bought me the Barcelona set for Christmas, it was my duty to get the other two.

I knew what set you were talking about, but wasn't sure why you called it that.

And yeah, that's accurate.
There is the Year of the Tiger set that was a GWP and briefly on Walmart. Butthole Tiger is the only tiger with a pink flower butthole. Which is included because the designer wanted the pink flower piece for one of the other two builds, but he had to include it in the main build.

It's also an amazing looking set.

Anyone have the Pirate ship 3 in 1? I have the awesome NnjaGo Movie ship and feel that's enough.

I feel slightly less guilty about 2 S@H orders and a Target order for the pirate 3 in 1. I actually don’t like the ship all that much, but the little tavern thing looked cool and might go well with Barracuda Bay.

Also grabbed the Ice Rink and Hydro Bounty as my 2 double points orders. Almost bought Winnie the Pooh, but I’ve seen it a few times at Target and I’m hoping to get it for less than MSRP.

Jang had a video with both ships together, I’m still trying to convince myself to get another one.

For those that don’t know, the next 3 in 1 is a Viking ship, hopefully they do a space theme next.

The way things are going I bought Sesame Street.

I think I will hear back sometime this week about owing the state several thousand dollars. So free LEGOs for everyone!

That BttF set looks pretty sweet, might have to pick that up.

In other news, I ended up returning the Pirate Ship 3 in 1 Creator set … from the online pictures it seemed like the other builds had more detail but I wasn’t a fan of the brick-built animals and it just felt subpar compared to Barracuda Bay (I know, aimed at different demographics). So clearly my LEGO collecting has evolved to buying mostly expensive, adult-oriented sets … great 😝

Have you had any issues with those recently? My frozen castle had the messed up parts in wrong bag and it happened again with 80024, Flower Fruit Mountain. This time an 8x16 plate was in bag 8 when it's needed for bag 7 and was supposed to be separate.

Wife has her own vip account, I’ll get 4 then .
Buy then LEGO will keep track of your address, two per address, will weed out office addresses.

Everything LEGO has ever done has made the hobby worse. (The new Bricks and Pieces has no 2022 pieces.)

Wife uses her parents address, next question!

I also have a secondary issue where I’m buying big sets and then not opening them, so I’m really hoping that I don’t run into bag errors if they do get opened after several years down the road. Seems like more people are raising issues about pieces missing in sets when I read reviews on the LEGO website … so not a great sign …

I currently have the last 10 modulars that I have never built. It's why I like this eBay seller because for 40-50% off and already somewhat open and banged up boxes it gets me to actually build the sets. However the Frozen Castle would be a pass from me. If just isn't a satisfying build.

Bought Pooh on March 6th. Shipped March 16. Traveling by horseback in the midwest.
Bought Sesame Street March 13th. Shipped March 17. Arrived today.

LEGO needs to stop using Fedex.

Absolutely. FedEx has “delivered” but not delivered so many packages that I’ve resorted to having everything “hold at location” so that there’s no more BS, but Lego does some weird shipping that doesn’t allow packages to be held. So I just don’t buy online from them any more.

I don't like near a store.

Sesame Street went from IL to CT to MA.
Pooh went from IL to Ohio to PA back to the same place in IL to several places in PA.

My favorite is when FedEx goes "It was delivered" and wasn't and then should a close up picture of a random sidewalk. Or even better "It was going to be delivered but bad weather!" and it's sunny and 75.

I should have canceled Pooh before it shipped because I already got the Jane Goodall set in a different part of the order.

I’ve walked 4 doors down and grabbed my packages off neighbor’s porch twice. They have cameras so no doubt I’m on Nextdoor or some shit.

I live an hour from Lego store so I spend a lot less directly with them. Lego’s profits show they ain’t missing me much though

I don’t like the third party company geodis they use to ship stuff out. At least most of you live near Chicago, if really have issues, call them and see if they could express it on their dime. FedEx express is completely separate from the ground division, I don’t know if this will help the situation.

On a brighter note, entertaining earth has 10% off all in stock items, includes LEGO.

5% cash back on top cash back.

Sesame Street must have shipped express because March 17 to 20th is amazingly quick for FedEx.
March 16th to today isn't that long, it's not the time that matters, it's let's just send it around, banging it up. I got the box and went 'Oh Pooh is here' and it was the thing that was sent later. Fedex doesn't even have a guess on when it will get here.

I only bought the sets from LEGO to get the Goodall set. That's it. Otherwise I'd get them from Target, get 5% back and 120 days to return them.

Avatar (Blue elves) sets have been confirmed by LEGO.

What's the deal with the landspeeder hate in general? That's all I see around the net. Such a weird thing to gripe about.
LEGO keeps remaking it and it gets lamer and more expensive each time.

On the one hand something new is great, but on the other hand it's a $200 Landspeeder.

I just think they could make so many other iconic ships, I guess this one was only a matter of time. They’ve revisited certain vehicles several times already, I guess they can’t make another $700 set but boy would it be nice, the at-at was an awesome set. I wouldn’t mind a UCS Jabbas palace or even a sail barge.

A huge sail barge would be amazing. Plus it would a nice break from $800 grey ship sets.
