Where is the weekly ad?
They ended the weekly ad for more rotation of deals. Please check the homepage and deal link for the current deals.

I can't find a trade in value for an item?
It might not be tradable or calling a store to find the value may be the only option.

How many copies of a game can I trade in?
You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.

Are there trade limits?
Yes, $500 cash minus some electronic trade ins and or $2000 trade credit in a rolling 30 day period.

Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

Went to my local store looking for Reynatis and Advance Wars used, but no go. I was however shocked that they did actually have a brand new unopened copy of Reynatis deluxe edition for Switch. Basically only a couple of bucks difference, so I was happy to grab that. About $11 after the $5 pro cert, works for me!

complete bust in store, only found 1 of the $15/$30 games and it was used, and a game that i had traded in a couple weeks ago. found out there is going to be a buy 2 get 1 free on preowned ps4/xbox one/xbox series x games next week. they had the signs up but it didn't work so they adjusted one game since they put the signs up too early.

also, bravely default remaster has a physical listing in store now, still just a game key but at least you can use it for the boost now.

Went to 4 gamestops nearby, got most everything I wanted. All gutted open copies. Hadn’t been in store for awhile, interesting thing I noticed in 2 out of the 4 stores. A kid came in and asked where the Xbox games were, clerk says “in the back, we don’t have room for them anymore.” They had plenty of space if they wanted. Printed a list for the kid. The next store’s usual spot for the Xbox games up front was just empty shelves. I didn’t notice at the other two stores. I had heard a year or two ago, Microsoft possibly payed to have Xbox stuff moved closer to the front of all stores and more prominently displayed. Either that contract has ended and GameStop is playing hardball to try and get them to reinstate it, or an early sign that Microsoft is really pulling the plug, on physical at least?

now that you mention it, the switch section at the store i was at had been moved to the xbox section (near the front of the store). I wasn't looking for xbox games, but I don't remember seeing them either. weird because i saw xbox 360 and ps3 games in a little section that was new.

Yeah, I hadn’t really realized it yet, but seeing that at the gamestop‘s, Xbox physical games are done. If any company stops physical game production due to tariffs, it’s going to be Microsoft. And they are not going to let a good excuse go to waste to do what they already tried and clearly want, this time with minimal blowback.

I recall someone mentioning there's a code or something an employee can manually scan for the $25 off $250 if it doesn't get applied automatically. Anyone know what that is?

It doesn't get applied automatically, there's a barcode they need to scan, sometimes it's taped to their monitor or in a binder. There's a banner for it at the top of webpage

Cold steel 3 and 4 they did a number of reprints and sent all of them through their awful opening machine that leaves marks on the spine. It'd be miraculous to find any of the first run without said damage.

Guess I'll go hunting for Reynatis tomorrow for that price! Or maybe GS will fix their inventory? I want to hope the 'everything is unavailable' is an error. I wish their online listed stuff that had 2 or 1 pieces of stock.

No you give your ID everytime you trade and they run it through the system and the trade bans can be based on the ID that's run and not the account. It just depends on the pawn laws in your county if an ID is necessary. I have to give a finger print as well here, it's a little crazy.
That's insane for fingerprinting

Ah, gotcha.

I've been flipping for quite some time now, but this whole 100% bonus is the first time I've truly gone all out in a way that could draw any attention.

I don't think I would ever trigger anything given it was a different account and not flipping from Gamestop itself (anymore 😅 ), but you never know I guess. The only red flag from their POV (aside from the amount of games lol) is that a few of them were the same game but for different consoles, but meh. I always feel dumb wasting time on prepared excuses in case they ask any questions because no one ever cares enough to ask lol. At least this time around they got a Pro membership out of me....

But yea, definitely done after this.

All good as was mentioning

True. I only ask because I wanted to know exactly what to ask on the off chance I can manage to convince them to use the discount when I pickup the Switch 2.

It does a little bit but if youre a regular and haven't done anything to warrant suspicion, its just more unnecessary than anything. Even now, they are checking licenses for returns which never occured until recently
Yeah it's just the county's pawn law that they have to follow so they can't waive it for regulars unfortunately. It just sucks because the finger print scanner is always super finicky and it makes to process take longer. The stores in the next county over don't scan fingerprints

It’s very rare my GameStops even ask for ID, no fingerprints needed, the highest traffic stores are in rougher areas, wouldn’t be surprised if stolen goods contribute to that.

Got a nice haul today. All $15.

Just a heads up. If you don't see the game on the rack, check the counter behind the cashier. I noticed a store pulled all the $15 off the rack and stack it there back there, I had to ask to see it. If they can't find it in their system, check the rack (including the preowned section), or ask them to check the drawers. There are times when they're too lazy to put the case on the rack but left it complete in the draws.

Thankfully the other location seems more lenient in just continuing business without hiccups

Is it normal for GS to physically take apart retro games? Treis to trade some decent value 64 games and they were taking them apart entirely.
