No, it was just one of the gray ones they offered in-store on splatoon release day. The fault was a dead pixel in the center of the screen. Nintendo apparently won't fix that (lots of manufactures won't if it's less that 3) but gamestop had no problem swapping it out (YMMV)... however, with none...
