I don't know if you're trolling, but if you're not, that's a really fucked up attitude. Indie developers need your support more than a major company that has the financing to deal with a flop. Your money isn't going for some sort of "reward", it's going so that they have a roof over their heads.
I think one important lesson is to never do business with EnronLackey, who sounds like a horrible landlord. Ordinary wear and tear is specifically not what the security deposit is for. In many states it's illegal to use the security deposit for that purpose.

I certainly wouldn't just blindly trust any deal; always do your own price checking. But because of an unrelated price drop being combined with this 50% off, I ended up getting a good deal on two games I was planning on buying anyway.

For anyone who doesn't know, Colonization is a whole other game using the Civ 4 engine. It takes a little getting used to, but it's a lot of fun.
The other two are just expansion packs for Civ4.
