If you like the old 2D Sonic games or even just Sega Genesis games in general you should check out Freedom Planet. I already own it on Steam and I'm thinking I might get it on Wii U just to have a semi-portable version.

Mine came in a beat-up box and the disc was unreadable :-/ At least the GS employee I talked to on the phone was super helpful about it.

Seems pretty indictive by the launch of the "New 3DS" that the era of Video Game "eras" is pretty much over. Instead of launching an entirely new console every 5/10 years, we're probably getting the Apple treatment of new models of existing hardware every 2-3 years.
