You can't buy other store gift cards (like eBay, etc.) with Trade credit, unless something has changed recently. I don't think they even carry like other retailer gift cards there except for restaurants.
I mean, I could dump it into PSN or eShop stuff but...
I only just started actively hunting for one this week, so I'm not in a HUUUGE rush (though I did trade in a bunch towards Mario Kart and Puyo Puyo for the bonuses >:D)
I doubt they'd restock on weekends, right?
Kinda surprised most of the GameStops around my area didn't get any for MK8 -- maybe they were forced to hold them for that stupid scalper bundle.
I have ~400 in GameStop credit just READY to pounce on a switch. >.>;
So, I shouldn't be afraid to go in and tell them I have an order being sent there? Even if it's something rare?
GameStop's order status page is so non-descriptive it makes me wonder if things go 'missing' all the time at GameStop and then are 'found' by employees after the 48-hour pick-up...
I'm kind of wondering about this, too. Mine says closed, but I assume if my order had been cancelled they'd at least have emailed me (it's a ship-to-store, which I'm also now regretting) to let me know, "Hey, it was cancelled!"
Of course, trying to contact support is like pulling teeth.
I hope the values hold for tomorrow; I'd love to dump off a fair bit of this stuff I have. Nothing crazy, but GTAV is part of my list.....should I just lock it in online? (but then I lose that 10% bonus..)
I know at the stores in my area, the front end just tells people to go back to Electronics to do the trade-in. No idea if that's a universal thing or not, but it's like the front just doesn't give two hells about it.
Honestly, I'd go back and ask Electronics or the Connection Center about the trade-ins. I know at my store, the front just tells everyone to go back there anyway, and they don't know the first thing about how to do it.
Yeah. There are some definite deals to be had here, even if your store forces you to get the presale card (Pokemon Y had a value of 28.xx before bonus earlier today). I'm kinda sad I dumped all my trade-in-worthy stuff at Target during the triple trade-in there :(.
If that Pokemon value holds...
Go to wherever your store does trade-ins (my store does them at the connection center/electronics area. Some use the customer service desk), and just have the games with you and tell them you wanna trade in. Whatever the system quotes you is the Base TIV and then the bonus gets added on top of...
Most cashiers are trained to NOT accept paper eGift Cards for plastic gift cards, so that's YMMV. Not saying it won't work, just saying that's going to be a YMMV thing depending on how strict/loose your cashiers/CSMs/management are at your particular stores in your area.
Dunno about most stores, but all the stores in my area would stop doing game trade-ins at 8PM local time on Sundays. Could vary, though.
Just as a fair warning: the gift cards from the trade-ins can't be used for gas (and I've been told you can't buy other gift cards with it, but haven't tried...
