For some games like Mario Galaxy you can't use a "regular" controller like the Classic Controller, but that doesn't mean you have to be jumping all over the place. You just hold the wiimote in one hand and the 'chuck in the other and sit back. I find it more comfortable than a "regular"...

Honestly your best bet at this point is to wait a couple months for Rock Band 3, you'll probably be able to buy a bundle then. Any of the other bundles are ridiculously expensive at this point. If she doesn't care about drums you could pick up just the standalone game and a couple guitar hero...
