There is a program called TweakVI for vista that does most of the same things. Not sure if it's made by the same people though. Another thought might be to check in the control panel on your mouse settings, you may be able to increase the amount of time required to drag an object.

check the jumpers to the HDD, possible that you forgot and switched it to a slave device?

I use a program called magic video converter it's free and converts to .wmx and .m4v both useable video formats for the zune
