Same thing happened to me. First email said they'd give me 3,000. Then another rep offered 5,000. Both offers suck.

I snagged my son three of the Skylanders adventure packs. The system only knocked $10 off of one of them, manager quickly and kindly adjusted the other two. Sometimes, it's okay to be a year late to the party.

Speaking to the MIB movie cash, my theater (Regal) doesn't ever give a damn if the movie is still around, they just go solely by expiration date. Worst you could do, "Hey, the movie isn't in theaters anymore, but could you see if these work, they haven't expired yet" or something to that...
